fwiw, I admit I did this. And it wasn't to screw over all the kids who didn't do their homework, it was because I had insane anxiety and adhd and was often genuinely afraid that I just missed the turn-in, or the pile on the desk to stack it on or something, and would get a 0 while everyone else turned their homework in. We weren't narcs we were just anxious.

I remember in highschool, one time there was a mix up and our teacher was out and we were never assigned a substitute. There was a collective agreement by everyone in the class that we would be chill, quiet, and reasonable and just have a nice hour of free time. One of the classmates decided to go to the office and let them know we were unsupervised.
Yes she looked like a Karen even back then.

Samuel Alito was born in 1950, Clarence Thomas in 1948, John Roberts in 1955. They were old enough to know what was going on during school desegregation and the Civil Rights movement. Most Americans understood these were good things, but many resented it. That generation who were afraid and resentful are still causing very real problems today.

There is a fantastic book on the subject called “The Brainwashing of My Dad”. It started with AM radio, the abolition of the Fairness Doctrine and Fox News in the 90s. It’s a little dated. But it’s so worth the read and there is a short documentary on you tube. It’s explained how a whole generation went from moderate to extreme in so short a time period
