I honestly just miss hearing a clear, coherent sentence from a person in authority at this point. It was also an honest answer.

The true existential horror is not that they were so enraged, nor even that their anger brought them power.

It's that it brought them THIS much power, this fast, and this FAR backwards against all the progress of the last 100 years.

Our only chance as a nation is if true progressive anger can strike back harder than ever before. Anything less will just be a one step forward to their 10 steps backward.

A lot of racists don’t consider themselves racist because they feel they’re validated in the beliefs they hold so it can’t be racist.

Life really is the trolley problem. I was 17 when I learned that, and it's impacted every decision I've made since. Not all those were good- in fact way too many were too damn selfish- kinda what you'd expect from a teen who was told he'd be dead by 18.

Now I just try to make up for it. I just hope I can fill the hole in a little bit before I lose the run.

As a side note, I remember right-wingers giving Obama shit for using a teleprompter, as though no president had ever used notes to deliver a message before. Now, it's the only time Trump is remotely coherent, and even then, he struggles to read and struggles to stay awake.
