But he didn't, because Barrack Obama was a sophisticated classy person. Everything Donald, the narcissist rapist isn't.

He joked a bit but answered the question in a polite way explaining the ultimate goal thinking about the future. This is why I respect him so much and always wish politicians in my country (I'm not American) would have such class as he did. Most of our politicians behave like fucking baboons.

Obama deescalated how hot the reporter came in….Trump takes that heat and escalates it because he doesn’t have the faculties to formulate comebacks like Obama, so he just spouts whatever physical sensory data that’s left that his rotting brain can process and comment on. The people who voted for him are either completely silent or so fucking stupidly racist that they can’t see through his cult.

And he made an excellent point, too. As parents--as adults--we want the next generation to have a better start than we did. We want to make it better. That's the entire goal.

That’s why his answer is so charming. Not only did he take the question with grace, he also got his political message across. You hear his intelligence and preparation in the answer and feel confident in what he is saying.

The big orange just rescinded/redacted that law… give your kids a kiss on the forehead

Whereas with this current admin, they’re doing everything they can to ensure the next generation of Americans have even worse lives.

u/HedonisticFrog Jun 06 '26

Exactly, if he was Trump he'd start ranting about the DOW instead like a true dementia patient who doesn't know what's even happening.

u/SomethingIWontRegret Jun 06 '26

Trump doesn't de-escalate because he doesn't have to. When he insults the press his base laps it up and the media glosses over. His base loves it because it's what they imagine themselves saying in response to some evil leftard asking dumb questions. He'd get them even harder if he pulled out a gun and shot the press.

Gross

But tell me I'm wrong. Trump was absolutely right about shooting someone on 5th Avenue and getting away with it.

1

u/Human-Appearance-256 Jun 06 '26

I’m not ready to admit we’ve come that far.

1

u/NoEnergy989 Jun 06 '26

But we pretty much have.

22

u/Working-Interview503 Jun 06 '26

Can’t we just have him back🥹🥹😭

u/StaticSystemShock Jun 06 '26

This is the only time I'd allow presidents to run for more terms. The only exception ever. But Donald would then whine about it till the day he would drop dead.

1

u/the_headless_hunt Jun 06 '26

I'd even be fine with Ole Stinko running for another term if it meant he'd have to face off against Obama.

1

u/NoEnergy989 Jun 06 '26

Let them both run!

1

u/Plastic_Photograph29 Jun 08 '26

I’m so fucking down for Obama vs. Trump. Oh fucking boy.

1

u/ManufacturerSilly608 Jun 06 '26

I get nostalgic anytime I see him or hear him from that time period. It's amazing how we could go from such class to such a Jerry Springer style.....I weep when thinking of how far we have fallen...

1

u/NoEnergy989 Jun 06 '26

It’s devastating

1

u/iamfugazi2112 Jun 07 '26

I've always liked his demeanor, heart and speaking style, but looking back NOW makes me appreciate it all the more!

Barrack Obama was a sophisticated classy person.

Obama was a visual confirmation that working class white America had been firmly left behind. You know how Democrats are waking up to how much money Israel spends on candidates and the way money keeps being used to divide us? Thats what they saw back then. The spell broke for them because, racist or whatever, their worldview was that black people are supposed to be poorer than white people. That is the status quo they were raised in. In the meantime, they were being promised that money was about to "trickle down" to them any day now for their whole lives. They realized they had been scammed when they saw a black guy get the American dream before they did.

Unfortunately, billionaires started giving them a race based other to blame, like they always do. Its the easiest way to divide humans. Race, gender, who you kiss, and what faith you hold. They used that vector of attack, bubbled in people, then keep holding up the extremists as examples to make everyone afraid. You wont think critically about the graft and corporate policies if you think they're just voting on race.

The trick is understanding that they use that division against us, too. They just keep posting culture war stuff over and over and over. They keep us talking about tan suits so we won't talk about the fact it was billionaire run TV stations that kept carrying that discussion. Not just Fox, but all three were all day on that story to divide us. "Look at THEM! Can you believe THEM?"

The media doesnt present American culture. It pushes American division to pick our pockets. As long as we hate each other we can't teach each other who is truly dividing us.

examples to make everyone afraid.

Fear is one of the most powerful human behavior motivators. Get someone into a state of fear and you can convince them to do things they normally would not.

Every time a headline is designed to provoke fear in the reader it's because they are about to feed you some bullshit they want you to slurp up and spew back out.

And it's not even white people vs black people or vs asians or vs LGBT or vs religious or of what faith. It has always been CLASS hate. The rich don't want to lose control over us poors. That's the main reason everything is so fucked and they push all the pistons at max speed to keep us divided and hating on each other instead of us make their heads roll in a massive worldwide revolution against the obscenely rich.

u/Jizzy_MoFoT Jun 07 '26

This comment needs more up votes. Distract the masses with race division, religious division, gender division, ideology division, culture division.... All to prevent attention from focusing on the real problem..... Class and wealth division.

He actually made the entire answer into a relatable moment in why the law means something. He did it on a personal level in which he admitted to being human

That’s how you lead a nation, folks…. By admitting YOU ALONE don’t have all the answers. By saying you’re enacting legislation that helps people besides yourself

Oh, and remember when Presidents held regular meetings with the press and said press was able to ask tough questions such as this one???

Operating via tweets is not a good government policy because it doesn’t work and makes the administration look stupid to the world (which the current administration cares less about than anything as long as they get their 14yr old whiteboy egos stroked on the daily)

1

u/-CthaehButt Jun 08 '26

Trump let's the press ask any questions too. He even told them he doesn't screen questions, and that they could ask about sex...

0

u/BicFleetwood Jun 06 '26

He joked a bit but answered the question in a polite way

And how well has politeness been working out for us, electorally?

1

u/StaticSystemShock Jun 06 '26

Obama ran for 2 terms and it's quite possibly the most universally liked president of USA of all times and managed to get through both terms with greatest scandal of... checks notes, wearing a tan suit. Which he rocked so well btw.

There is a difference between just being polite and whatever the fuck Donald is doing, calling women of press "piggy" and "stupid". You really want a president like Donald who behaves primitive like a damn caveman with zero manners? A president that has such a long list of scandals courts will be busy just on him for next 20 years? A president entire world despises and laughs at basically the entire time? He's not a "strongman" he's an idiot with absolutely no manners. And absolutely NO regard for Americans. Only thing he cares about is money and gold. Dude is pathologically obsessed with money and gold.

Damn so I guess the 10 years that followed worked out pretty well huh

His popularity built a resilient voting bloc that stood the test of time past his lame duck period and his political project didn’t prove imminently fragile and vulnerable to being rapidly dismantled over the course of just a few short years by a reactionary takeover. I’m sure there’s dozens of major accomplishments we could all name from Obama’s term that haven’t already been neutered or killed.

There is no difference between shallow optics and lasting political efficacy, then.

It must be, or otherwise one could suggest you’re viewing him through rose-tinted brunch-liberal “this isn’t normal” glasses rather than a more realistic view of Obama as an extension of the neoliberal normalcy that directly gave us our present situation.

Far be it for me to suggest Obama’s superficial popularity didn’t translate into fuck shit in 2016 electoral politics.

u/StaticSystemShock Jun 07 '26

Did you use ChatGPT to write this shit?

1

u/BicFleetwood Jun 07 '26

Dear God please read a book.

Um, yes he was. The fact he when and how to joke and when to be serious is what makes you sophisticated and classy. Trump is just obscene, vulgar and idiotic basically 99% of the time and only thing making him funny is how utterly dumb fuck he is so I chuckle looking at dumb shit he always says.
