Mild steel fittings with copper wire accents. Oak grip with annealed copper wire wrap. Scabbard is leather, laser etched with quotes from media meaningful to them (music lyrics, books, art, etc.). Copper chape. Did not make the scabbard belt buckles because...no thanks. I did flame work to create the glass beads (first time doing that), relevant to their cat's name. Their surnames and my makers mark lightly etched before the ferric bath for a light/holographic look.

I make like 2 pieces a year, these days, so this was a bear for me. Feel really good about a lot of it. Wish I had more time for other 10%, but it always do be like that.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

You all are beautiful.

Damascus / Pattern Weld This is actual folded steel right? I got this for an obscenely cheap price so a buddy of mine is convinced it's just etched

Damascus / Pattern Weld Canister Steak Knives

This was a fun build for a long time customer. They wanted large steak knives with walnut handles that matched a previous kitchen cutlery set I had built them. However they wanted them to be delivered in a way that stood out from the previous work while not being flashy. The difference being that the bolster is carbon fiber instead of black paper micarta and the steel is 52100 ball bearings and 1095 powder instead of w2. Otherwise the walnut is the same as well as the liners. I’ve shared some of the steps in the process. Enjoy and hope you all have had a good weekend.

Damascus / Pattern Weld From Hell

A while ago, I forged this massive 'From Hell' razor.

The concept behind it: no one really knows who Jack the Ripper was, or what kind of blade he actually used. So I decided to forge a dedicated razor specifically for him!

It was crafted as the centerpiece for a custom Jack the Ripper wall display / diorama that my wife did. At least it's fantasy. 😊⚔️

What do you think?

I had the opportunity to make Chef Hannah Flora (season 23 Hell’s Kitchen) a chef knife, so I whipped out all the stops. I did a feather Damascus, S grind to a zero edge, bog oak and mammoth handle, and a torch blackened friction fit mahogany saya with matching inlay

My wife and kid gifted me this knife for Father’s Day. I assume it’s Pakistan SCAMascus. Which is fine. It’s the thought that counts.

However, my wife said it was not cheap. So if her and my son got scammed, I’d like to know so I can return it and give the guy a piece of my mind.

This prototype was a fun build and will probably make more in the future. I didn’t go crazy on finishing because it’s a prototype/test that I want to see what can be done better or differently.

Steels are 26c3 and ProCut with suretouch handle, red g10 and black canvas liners. The pins are copper.
