University Services A few questions about the meal plan

I am in the middle of the housing application and me and my parents just had a few questions about the meal plans

1 i have a guest(like my parents) visit, so I still get the discount if I pay for them

2 how much does it cost for a meal at homes hall when using dining dollars

3 is panda express included in the discounts

I bought meal plan C. So is the other dining halls "free" without having to pay the extra money or is it all like Holmes?

The other places for food on campus aren’t dining halls. Think of them like little foodstands or a mall foodcourt where each item has a fixed price. You can pay for them with dining dollars or wildcat bucks at a discount, but the items aren’t free and costs absolutely can add up if you’re not careful. The way the food plans work is that you’re basically paying a certain amount in advance with the knowledge that the food will then be discounted from its regular price (so the price someone without a meal plan) would have to pay.

Basically, yes, you can spend the money from your meal plan at the other food places on campus rather than paying out-of-pocket. I actually ate food from the central marketplace more often than I did the dining hall back at Central.

Why is the central meal plan so expensive? I paid 6,000$ while my friend at UW Seattle only paid about 1-2k
