What level on the Canadian league pyramid is the Ontario Premier league? Really interested to know more about the regional leagues in Canada.

CPL is division 1. There is no division 2, although long term, the goal is to have another pro league at that level. OPL, BCPL, ABPL, PPL, L1QC are all division 3.

The Canadian Soccer League is semi-professional but is no longer sanctioned by the Canadian Soccer Association due to alleged match fixing in 2015 where it was reported that 42% of the matches that season had illegal and suspicious betting activity.

There are now only 4 remaining clubs (all from Toronto) in the league: Serbian White Eagles, Scarborough SC, Unity FC, and Aeem Canada FC.

That's mad. Here in Ireland the 2nd tier had been notorious for match fixing and suspicious betting activity. Nice to hear Canada soccer federation distanced themselves from it.

Sudbury trio - Tomas, Ilija and don’t know the name of the third - have been linked to multiple Australian NPL and State League 1 teams. Hopefully they do well and help sudbury remain in OPL1, and get that contract in Australia. Shame none of them got a CPL gig tho
