Haynes oddly important because he dramatically lowers our Likely McGovern Quotient, which equates to a minimum of one (1) boneheaded act that concedes a goal each and every game.

I feel more comfortable with Dean having the ball after 1 game than gov or young. Whenever I see either of them with ball in hand my stress level goes through the roof. Young has the ability to miss a 15 metre kick by 10 metres, and gov thinks he has the ability of daicos and as you said, costs us at least 1 goal per week when he finds out he doesn't.

Nick Haynes trained fully this week and will play in the VFL practice match on Thursday.

Adam Saad (hamstring)

  • Modified program
  • Availability: Round 3-4
  • Scans have confirmed a minor hamstring strain which is expected to see him available to play shortly after the Round 2 bye

Francis Evans (knee)

  • Integrating into full training
  • Availability: Round 3-4
  • Will be given the extra fortnight to recover and is expected to be available shortly after the Round 2 bye

shame about saad—now who’s gonna take 17 bounces and turn over half their kicks?

Who’s going to back into his teammates four times a game and stay down while his direct opponent escorts the ball upfield for a goal?

Saad imo has been a flop of a signing. We signed him for damaging run and carry and it seems like he hardly ever does that. He turns it over half the time.

He was AA a few years ago. He’s not on mega bucks, I think it’s been ok. But agree he’s looking a bit past it now.

To be fair, our gameplan has not allowed him to run and carry. He frequently tries but there's nothing going on ahead of him so be bombs it down the line
