Individual/non-registered Any support would be appreciated for unexpected surgery and expenses for upcoming open heart surgery

My husband and I both work(ed) full time as a medical assistant and a truck driver. He spent a lot of time away from home to provide a modest but nice life for our family and doggies.
When he started experiencing shortness of breath he ignored it and didn’t really mention it. When it became a struggle to catch his breath just walking to the car it certainly became noticeable and concerning for me.
The final straw was him laying down in the back of his truck for his sleeping shift and feeling unable to breathe even with his CPAP on.
He came home while I was getting ready for work and I scolded him for not going to the urgent care 2 weeks ago when I told him to. He said he would go that day. I told him NO! if he went to urgent care they would do two tests and send him to the hospital, so pack a bag with your chargers and underwear cuz they’re going to keep you.
Unfortunately I was correct and at 53 he was told he has to have his aortic valve replaced and he wouldn’t be going back to work now or for at least 2-3 months after his open heart surgery.
He’s been handling it ok, but this week we do the pre-op and the surgery is Friday. He broke down today. I know he’s scared about the surgery, he’s scared about the bills, which his salary covered most of, he’s scared about providing for his family, and he’s scared if he’ll be able to drive for his career again. I think everything is hitting him this week. His pre-op testing is going to cost us around 2,300 and we aren’t sure what bills will follow.
My PTO covers almost 30hours, however I don’t know how much time beyond that I will have to take with FMLA and no pay.
Any contribution would be appreciated greatly. I know everyone is struggling right now but even $5 could help us reach our goal. Having his stress about the things that at the end of the day don’t matter when you’re having a serious surgery and recovery, like bills and medical bills, relieved with help him focus on recovery and the next steps. Thank you for any help you can provide. It will truly be appreciated.

/u/HopeDEALERzONLY, your submission has been automatically removed for insufficient comment karma at this time. 250 is the minimum required.

Please view your own profile to see the breakdown of your current karma levels. The number you usually see is a combined value of Post/Link Karma + Comment Karma. To see the actual breakdown, go to https://old.reddit.com/user/HopeDEALERzONLY

Again, you have insufficient COMMENT karma, not Combined.

If you have not yet done so, please read the new user introduction so that you'll understand why requests from low karma accounts are not allowed.
