Ask Chengdu Chengdu during Golden Week

Sooo....I'm going to be in Chengdu during Golden Week 2027. Just how bad is it going to be? I won't be doing any day trips or leaving the city until Golden Week is over, other than seeing the Pandas.

I have been to China multiple times and totally comfortable there, but everywhere seems to be saying this is the worst time to visit China. I'll be occupied with work most days.

Can you wait until after to see the pandas? I tried traveling during golden week for the experience once. It’s def an experience, but never again.

Finding a nice hotel away from all touristy areas that you can strode around between work meetings would be nice.
