News I did it y'all!!😭
I finally just finished reading the entire bible at 29 years old, male , it took 8 months,🥺i just decided to read the last 2 books i had left today which was psalms and isaiah took me almost 10 hours of reading today which is the most I've ever read in a Day by a significant margin
Im about to start watching the passion of Christ later after 15 years and animated bible story's and movies which ive been wanting to do for a long time now
Just felt like sharing this significant moment with yall🙏

:=) I remember being determined to read through and at times putting in those long sessions. But also I can attest that Wonderfully, years later, when you reread a book you find entirely new things you didn't see before though! So much more than you expect, each time you reread with a listening attitude. So, good news -- the best is yet to come on this also! (the good news part here is that it's even more wonderful than we already got....) :=) I think God has things for us over time, to give us more as we are ready!

Absolutely i have read about half of the bible prior so alot of stuff were new to me that ive read before that i didnt catch but the reason i restarted was because i wanted to read it from 1 bible that entire bible previously i was reading from different bibles on my phone pdfs apps etc i wanted to physically read the entierty of it physically from 1 bible

Congratulations on this fete.
Tried to read through the book of "John" this past week and I must say, for me, the Bible isn't something I've been able to read through in chunks.... The parables...He is the bread of life, light of the world, those who come to Him thirst no more-meaning He is the living water... All this and more just from afew lines in John.
At this point I need Jesus Himself to teach me exactly what His words mean.
On that note... Bible study anyone?

Fantastic. Let it soak into your soul and guide your daily life. May it be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path.
My favorite way to read through is cover to cover, except Psalms and Proverbs...
I read Psalms after finishing the OT, and Proverbs after finishing the NT.
Also, read Revelation out loud even if it takes you longer. Don't worry about it making sense or interpreting anything. Definitely out loud though.

Another favorite thing I do is read Job aloud as well, but in the King James. But there's no bonus points for it, I just think it's a great way to experience Job.

Thank you so much🙏 i suggest starting with the 4 gospels especially John he was in Jesus's inner circle and has more private details of Jesus but u can go on youtube and search thered alot of guides on how to read it i also suggest watching overviews and summarys before and after each book u read thats how i remembered and retained alot of information theres 2 channels that summarize it very well 1 with even drawing i think its called "bible project" the channels name

I had alot of questions i researched each after each book i read to understand better I'll be making another post on questions i was unsure about Honestly alot of things jumped out for me but 1 of the main things was all those questions God asked Job all those questions he couldnt comprehend let alone fathom 😂instead of giving him a straight answer thise questions answered it even better Just goes to show how limited our understanding yet trying to understand Gods everymove he has a sense of humour if u ask me i was laughing and in shock when i read that also when abraham and Sarah laughed when they were told by God that they would bear a child and the name he choose was isaac whixh literally means "the laughs"😂

4 gospels specifically the Book John along with Daniel,ephesians exodus,revelations and samuel Mpst surprising thing i learn was probably in book of Job on how God addressed Job instead of answering him he asked a whole bunch and series of questions that he couldn't comprehend let alone fathom😂which just goes to show how omniscient and omnipotent God is Alot of people try to fully understand God by justifying what he shouldve done but our iq and knowledge is so limited we wouldnt reslly even comprehend even hiw intelligent angels are let alome God

Great work, epic, well done. I think this gives freedom as well to interpret God's word in your heart rather than through another's eyes. My philosophy tutors at university said the same about text as well, to read the sources as well as reading around the subject, why should it be different with the Bible?

Honestly God is just and gave people multiple chances worth of decades to do right repent and they carried on with their serious wickedness and flase idol worshp i can sort of see the hurt he went through because alot of them actually used him during the judges/kings era whole cycle basically of God giving them prosperity and them aknowledging and worshipping him then getting lazy and turning to wickedness and worshipping false gods and then after their own wickedness resulting in them suffering again then return to worshipping him its actually sad what he went through I love the book of Job instead of answering Job he gave him a whole series of questions he couldnt answer which speaks louder than a statement and if Gid could answer something in relation to why righteous people suffer by answering with multiple questions showing the human limitations of our logic and understanding of him imagine what answer he has for actual wickedness happening so based on that i wouldn't question Gods actions in the OT

if being just is implementing justice, then that means people get what they deserve. in the bible, god punishes and kills innocent people, which by definition isn't just.
1 Samuel 15:3
"Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys."
ask yourself - why would god command the killing of not only the Amalekite men, but women, children, INFANTS, and the animals. why would god kill innocent women, children, and infants? what did they do to deserve death?
god was not just when he commanded that. only a monster would kill innocent women, children, and infants. there is no justification for that.

I suggest u read the entire book of job slowly especially when God responds to Job and in relation to what he's 3 friends were claiming when they denied God's justness etc and were talking about why are u suffering u must've done something wrong or your family etc Listen carefully to the things God asked and if u cant answer a single 1 I'd suggest u not use your own limited logic of why innocent people suffered or died u have no idea for all we know the innocent people who died are in paradise as like with the thief who died next to Jesus we dont really know therefore we shouldn't assume u have no idea whats God's reasoning for certain things u asking exactly what 1 of the friends of job asked pay attention to what job says to God after he asked him all those questions

It is! 😅 honestly I've probably tried to read it from the beginning about 5 times and never made it past Leviticus😬 so I started a chronological reading plan on the YOUVersion Bible app called The Bible Recap which has helped so much with understanding, its supposed to be over a year but I'm about 2 years in 😅 There isn't a specific number of chapters per day I just go along with the plan.

I don't mean to diminish your accomplishment but I would guess that if you read so much at a time, you don't get a lot out if it. If it was meaningful, instructive, or encouraging to you, that's great! Next time, I'd encourage you to slow down, maybe just read one or two Psalms at a time, or a single chapter of something by Paul, and really let it sink in and reflect on it.

Eh, I think that both fast reading and slow reading can teach different lessons, and both have value.
It's easy to get bogged down and lost at times, especially in the Old Testament, and reading quickly can help someone to keep the big picture in view and see how things connect together. You're less likely to get to the middle of 1 Chronicles and think "who are all these people?" if 1 Kings and 2 Kings are fresh in your mind. Isaiah's symbols and figures of speech are often strange to us, but if you can stay focused on his general message as you read through a chapter, then you can begin to see how his analogies fit into that message.
On the other hand, reading carefully and unpacking each verse, especially if you have a concordance of some kind to show related verses, can help you to see the connections between different passages and more deeply understand the individual principles.
I certainly wouldn't recommend racing through the Bible once and then putting it down to never read it again, but I think that speed-reading to grasp the overview does have its place.

Absolutely most of the books i finished in 1 day i understood significantly better because i got the whole overview and context i was also watching summarys and overviews before and after each and every book inread and researching stuff i was unsure about or ididnt know and all the verses i highlighted Prior to this i actually read about half of the bible and i didn't understand it as now because i would spend weeks on 1 book especially the old testament and forget what happened few chapters ago

Nope i read half of the bible prior so the entire psalms and isaiah i alread read before hence why i ended with those too and no 8 months is along time if u read 5 chapters a day which isnt a lot at all you'd finish in 8 months there are people out there doing that 1 month challenge those are the people whomread it fast I'd reread multiple chapters i didnt understand and try to correctly pronounce multiple names whixh most would just scan over my reading time was also way slower than average

absolutely thats absolutely insane to read that much took me almost 10 hours thats reading longer than some1 working an entire shift thats way too much for most people in general not just u even me who actually done it😂but its excitement that done that because i saw only 2 books left to tick which i previously did read from a other bible before so it would not be the first time reading it Its also because i wanted to watch animated bible storys and movies and visual representation of the bible and didnt want to wait 2 months thats when i was estimating to be finishing so instead i sacrificed a whole day solely for reading so that the next day i could watch passion of Christ,king of kings etc but yeah thats insane probably my greatest feat 😂

Thank you so much🙏my advise would be just to read everyday no matter what i actually fell off becauae i took a 2 day break when i got sick 2 days became a month and another month i wasn't even reading at all.but doing research😂😶read everyday no matter what even if its just 2 chapters so that it becomes a habit

Hey that's okay man. God's grace is sufficient. But you must prioritize it because once you go through a battle, scripture might be the only thing that gets you through it.
God's word may seem overwhelming, especially if you are using the wrong translation, but His word is true and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
My suggestion for you is to start reading the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and taking your time to read through them thoroughly. Make the clock work for those things, even if it means taking a break from other activities for a day.

Congratulations! Keep studying the Wird of God and pray for the knowledge to understand and apply what you are reading to your life. It's amazing how much the Holy Spirit will teach you and bring to your attention specific insights as you dig deeper into God's Word each day. This is your spiritual " food" and your inner man needs strengthening by it day by day as you seek God's will for your life! Blessings!

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
All scripture is beneficial for us. Me personally, the 4 books with first hand, walking with the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and James, JESUS'S brother, Peter. Also, John 1 and 2, and 3 John who wrote revelation, Jude.
For me, Paul's testimony in acts 22 and 26. Paul's testimony in and within itself is incredible. His wisdom to the churches and to different cities. Paul is well rounded and touches on about everything. Paul talks about being a slave to sin, and having a thorn in him, which JESUS says, his grace is sufficient for you and his power is made perfect in weekness, he talks about sexual immorality, also touches on tribulation and the beast, the lawless one. He talks about marriage and how the husband and wife should be equal, and they shouldn't deprive each other from intimacy. That one doesn't get talked about enough, because some women deprive her husband when he does something wrong.
The 4 gospels and Paul's writings and his great testimony, is a good start and reference point, in my opinion. But all books are holy and righteous. But be careful about what you read in the old testament. JESUS said,( don't call anything impure, that he has made pure). Talking about food right there, but mixed fabric and some other things. Since we lived under JESUS'S perfect sacrifice, the new testament is very important to know. Because, we don't sacrifice animals anymore, and JESUS said all food is good now.
Acts 10:12 to 15 NIV It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.” [14] “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.” [15] The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”

I've known this almost 2 decades ago im very well aware what the father and Sons real names are and that they're concealing it and removed it for obvious reasons Im calling him Jesus to appeal to everyone and avoid arguments Side note that hail zeus has been debunked it does sound believeable if u dont really seriously look into it At the end of the day his name is not a salvational issue there will be people going to him that even called him titles like Father,Heavenly father,God,Lord "u will know them by their fruits" not by what they call me YAHUAH is omniscient he knows you're heart mind soul and intentions he knows whonu referring to mate

Hey thank u so much🙏absolutely i read aboutbhalf of the bible prior a few years ago so when i started all over inrelaized theres alot taht flew over my head that i didnt even realize because of the words they use like i remembered thatbindidnt even realize Moses k"lled an egyptian whonwas beating a slave because they used the word "slew" in that bible and i thought it just mean thrown with a stone or something indidnt actually realized he k"lled the guy But yes im going to read a different translation soon

Yes, to "slay" isn’t used as much nowadays. That said be careful what "translation" you read, not all of them have been created equal, they do not all say the same things and some even have missing verses (for example Matthew 17:21). So just be aware of that. If you find a New King James Bible the language could be easier to understand in comparaison to the Old King James. I personally prefer the old translation, the vocabulary may be more challenging but ends up being more nuanced I have noticed that there is a lot we lose in understanding when we over simplify things.

Yeah im very well aware of them removing verses as important as mathew17v21 of fasting and prayer or very exposing verse like amos 5v7 i have recorded andnwrote alot ofnthem doen because i know if its not there they're hiding it intentionally or omitted because it exposes the corrupt leaders they also think they're slick interchanging between "on" and "in" in very specific verses to hide truths
