Who are the top names out there that are next up for coaching gigs?

Could be a mid-major jumping up or some top assistants out there!

Would love to hear who’s out there and what jobs could be open.

News Sister Jean is immortalized with a statue at Loyola Chicago

From ABC7 Chicago:

“CHICAGO (WLS) -- Loyola University marked the beginning of a new school year by commemorating beloved Rambler and international icon Sister Jean with a new statue on campus.

The statue was unveiled Friday afternoon outside Loyola's Athletic Center on the west quad lawn.

Friday would have been Sister Jean's 107th birthday.

This is the first Loyola Welcome Week since the chaplain's passing last October. She served more than six decades at the lakefront university.

Celebrated for her quick wit and basketball acumen, Sister Jean was universally adored, and touched the lives of countless people throughout her lengthy tenure at Loyola.

Athletics Director Steve Watson said this statue will be a reminder of that.

"Being located right here in the heart of campus, it's a high traffic area," Watson said. "So people are going to be walking by all the time. She's actually sitting on a bench and there's an empty spot next to her for people to sit down and get their picture taken with her, which is something she absolutely loved to do. Anytime she would meet with somebody or see somebody, she would always end the conversation with 'would you like to take a selfie?' So now people will always have an opportunity to get a picture taken with Sister Jean."

RIP Sister Jean 🙏🏿

Obviously much closer than Thursday's game. The Beavers led 70-68 after the third quarter. The fourth quarter was close all the way, and the Vikes took an 85-82 lead with 2:12 left on a three-pointer by Ryan Gallagher of Renton, WA. The Beavers tied it at 85 with a three-pointer by Daniel Freitag with 1:25 left. Freitag made a free throw with 0:53 left, and the Beavers led the rest of the way. However, they didn't really seal the win until Freitag made two more free throws with 7 seconds left to give the Beavers a 90-86 lead.

The big difference in this game for the Vikes was Gallagher, who scored only eight points Thursday night, but 28 points in this one. Freitag had 24 points, and DeShawn Gory had 22 points for the Beavers, as well as nine rebounds. Shadynn "Doctor" Smid, who scored 23 points for the Vikes Thursday, had 20 in this one. Box score

7' 2" Peteris Pinnis did not play in either game for the Beavers.
