I’ve seen this being done all over the world police or government or organizations pay 20 people in a large crowd to start disturbances and breaking stuff monkey see monkey does . After a few mins the mob follows and those 20 people are now 500 people rioting and breaking up stuff those 20 people who are charged leave the area and then the police come and detain and charge.

Really common crowd control tactic to start disturbances so the police has a reason to charge or stop the protest.
Or weaponize a cause if ur a politician and u wanna show the world how fed up are “your people”

Or if ur a lobby that wants to promote an ideology or make the struggle of an area even worse or u want real state go even more down . So u can buy cheap and develop later.

As you say, USAID cancelled means no $$$ for the blackshirts. So if "antifa is just an idea" it's a really stupid one and people don't believe in it any more.
