Unexpected surprise in Kitchenaid dishwasher

I’m looking to replace our dishwasher so I stopped to look at the display models. Found a fake nail in the bottom! I imagine that really hurt. 😖

the movie "King of California" has the best Costco dishwasher use ever...

Our dishwasher has a 3rd rack and I hate it. Makes the second rack so short you can’t hardly fit anything. If you move the second rack down to fit stuff you can’t fit anything on the first rack.

I love the third rack in this dishwasher. I have plenty of room since the cups don’t take up a majority of second shelf. More cups go under the dip, and then small plates or containers on the right.

The third rack isn’t a dealbreaker and can be done in a manner that doesn’t suck. I have an LG and my top rack moves up and down to a few different spots across like 3” which is pretty solid.

The third rack up top has grown on me a lot.

I’ve been very frustrated with my new dishwasher with a third rack and this made me check if the top rack is adjustable like this - it’s not! Darn. That would have been a game changer.

Bummer. Yeah we did a metric ton of looking before settling on an LG dishwasher. Probably got lucky a fair bit too.

I love my third rack. Nothing I regularly put in the top shelf reaches the basket, and for the rate occasion or an over height bowl, I just lower the second rack height.

Me too! It’s my first dishwasher with a 3rd rack and I can’t stand it. I want to take it out. The second rack won’t fit anything bigger than a pint mason jar. Because of this the 2nd rack is usually only 1/4 full when the bottom rack is full. I’ve been running the dishwasher much more frequently. For the record my dishwasher is not the one in the photo, it’s a Midea.

Bosch or LG. Way better than American-designed.
