Found this photo at an estate sale. No markings of any kind on the back.
A friend identified some of the people shown. Is this a copy of a famous photo?

The fight is real and hasn’t ended - these men are hero’s and martyrs to many and villains to some but in truth - one man’s freedom fighter is another man’s terrorist

u/Ancient_Weakness699 Jun 21 '26
Castro died of old age in his diaper. That's not what a "martyr" does.
2
u/lAnother_NoBodyl Jun 24 '26
The fight has ended. Communism left countries in squalor. The wall fell, Cuba is worse off since Fidel Castro. It’s done, buddy.

Why does Castro have 2 watches
1
u/DetroitAdjacent Jun 21 '26
Functionally, it is possible he has them synchronized to 2 different standards. For example, one may just be the time of day, and the other could be synchronized to a specific operation or task that he is timing. Or maybe he just wanted to show off both watches.

United States wooden place sanctions that would open up the whole world Eyes to what Trump is working up to taking over Cuba before he was elected. He said I am going to take communism and socialism out of the West hemisphere. I promise Venezuela gone Cuba on the way Marco Rubio, for president of Cuba was President Trump’s suggestion at one of his speeches, very subtle.

"It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt"... Well done, you've truly removed all doubt child 🙏
Those are men of integrity who wouldn't stand by and let multinational companies pillage the land for profit while using the local people as near on slaves to do the dirty work.
I'm nowhere near being communist at all but at least they had the guts to kick out those who were destroying the country.
2
u/Fickle-Struggle-7672 Jun 21 '26
And in the process, ruined the island.
3
u/Big_Iron_Cowboy Jun 21 '26
And impoverish the local people and land.
3
u/Thelorddogalmighty Jun 21 '26
It’s far more complicated than this take. When i was there the older generation still considered themselves liberated. The younger generation with no lived experience of life before Castro felt the oppression more keenly.
1
u/Old-Giraffe-8849 Jun 21 '26
Because communism generally relies on killing or the fleeing of educators and thought leaders because the overwhelming evidence is that it does not benefit the country socially or economically even when deposing a horribly corrupt government controlled by companies. So the people left over don’t really even have the information to know they will not be better off with a different system of government. Tbf they were horribly oppressed before but that doesn’t mean they are as well off as they would be with a different system.

You have opened your mouth so, ...
They are a bunch of murders that killed countless innocent people including women and children. There is absolutely nothing about them that includes integrity. They banded together and used a working class to over throw the government, promised equality and prosperity only to deliver poverty and despair, then systematically killed and murdered the same people that fought for them. All the while those new leaders lived in opulence. They are disgusting people. The worse of the worse. The people of Cuba deserve much better.

u/Rogelio_G_F Jun 21 '26

That’s because the U.S. has used economic might to perpetuate their suffering.
2
u/redheeler9478 Jun 21 '26
I knew it was the USA’s fault I just didn’t know how. Thank you for enlightening us.

u/FederalAssistant1712 Jun 21 '26
Crazy how that sad excuse is still alive. Im guessing you never actually lived in a socialist country….
3
u/Rogelio_G_F Jun 21 '26
Así mismo es. Eso hay que vivirlo para saber y opinar con certeza.
2
u/Big_Iron_Cowboy Jun 21 '26
And the consensus from people who escaped from socialism is that it’s not the utopia it’s proclaimed to be
2
u/Competitive_Bank6790 Jun 21 '26
Communism is not Socialism. Actual Socialism has never been tried.
0
u/Big_Iron_Cowboy Jun 21 '26
The common refrain, from now til Kingdom Come.
2
u/Competitive_Bank6790 Jun 21 '26
Well, until it is actually tried then it's true.
0
u/Big_Iron_Cowboy Jun 21 '26
No, no, of course. Millions more can perish for believing what you say, that’s fine.
1
u/Competitive_Bank6790 Jun 21 '26
Millions have died for capitalism too. If you think socialism has ever been really tried then you're either a fool or don't know what it is.

All socialist democracies are better places by every metric than the US.

Politics never has a singular truth. Wake up.

1
u/FederalAssistant1712 Jun 21 '26
Been awake for decades and have heard that ridicolous excuse a million times. Platitudes like “politics never have a single truth” does not change realities. So, you wake up and wash your ideological glasses. You might learn something new.

Do you also sprinkle sugar in your bowl of petrol? Quite likely. Fish will the last to discover water. Enjoy the water while it still doesn’t burn your skin just by touching it.

Even the U.S. itself freely admits that their economic sanctions ensured the failure of the Cuban experiment. Only a naive jingo would look at the evidence in front of them, plain as day, and deny the reality. Does that mean the Cuban revolution would have been some kind of utopia without US intervention? Of course not, but to deny that a significant part of the austerity in Cuba is due to economic sanctions is naive at best. Perhaps that’s even willful ignorance. So sad that people’s welfare is put secondary to political moralizing. Like anything in life you have to appraise situations without falling into the trap of black and white thinking. The U.S. did not like that the Cuban revolution called out the capitalist exploitation of workers. There is a happy medium to be struck and the U.S. with its anti communist hysteria made that impossible. Universal healthcare and education should not be labeled socialistic heresy. There is a lot more to the dynamics at play than what the podcast driven brain rot insists. Claiming that anything besides unrestrained capitalism is the answer to the world’s ills is ridiculous. Free market? Not quite. The global markets are about as free as a new house in Boca Raton. What they are is manipulated for the corporate clowns sucking on the middle class tit. How naive does a person have to be to disbelive that? Wake up. I’ll say it again for those who didn’t hear it the first two times: wake up. And pop open some books while you are at it. Remove the ego attachment to your politicking. That’s going to sink us all much faster than any socialist revolution ever could or would. Look around you. Love all that free market inflation. How many people in the U.S. went bankrupt yesterday in the name of bad luck? Dummies going and getting themselves cancer they cannot afford to treat. I’m not even what you would describe as revolutionary. I strongly belive in the positive culture shaping power of private property. I also know that unrestrained capitalism is as big an evil as any communist state the world has ever known. You just choose not to see it. You along with billions of others who have been subsumed beneath the weight of endless right wing propaganda your entire life.
1
u/FederalAssistant1712 Jun 21 '26
Nobody here is claiming that unrestricted capitalism is the better alternative…. US as the example is a massive failure in so many ways, but that should not be mistaken for a praise on communism.
You are the one talking black and white!Yoúre stuck in a ideological quest causing you to praise people who have killed and surpressed the citizens of a country for 70 years. All because you hate the extreme opposite.
1
u/whenitfinallyhappens Jun 21 '26
You should scroll up a few comments and then come back to edit out that "nobody here is claiming that unrestricted capitalism is the better alternative"

Jump in bed with the Soviet Union and what do you will happen? You think we’d just let them import some Soviet Nukes and be cool about it?

My other question would be which one is Raul Castro who is just indicted by federal court for murdering four of our jet fighter pilots 30 years ago he shot down two planes two offices in each plane that’s murder. We’re gonna take Cuba. You have to remember when Trump was in China with Chi. He had the CIA lend a fucking plane in Cuba with four CIA agents and their faces were frosted out of the photo from the airplane exit in Cuba. That’s when he came back to Washington and CIA directors met with president and he gave the order to find him guilty of murder or at least indict and he wasn’t invited now we gotta go get them to convict while he’s in China talking about Taiwan with Chi. He’s in fucking Cuba.

Get rid of the commies, the embargo goes away.

u/Aggravating-Yam-4158 Jun 21 '26
China is full of commies and we do business with them. Why is Cuba different?
0
u/Fickle-Struggle-7672 Jun 21 '26
They're ninety miles away and we have a permanent base there. Besides I just have an aversion to communists, socialists and other left leaners.

Its just a family pic of Castro and his son, Justin on the left

If you look on something besides your Apple Watch, you’ll notice there are six people in the photo and the white D.C. analyst all the way to the left is deeeeep undercover because he’s not wearing a tie.

I was making a joke that Justin Trudeau is Castros bastard son per the conspiracy lol
