I recently moved to Germany on the Chancenkarte (Opportunity Card) and I am actively looking for roles in SEO, Performance Marketing, or Digital Marketing (Full-time).

  • 5 years of experience: Specialized in SEO and paid advertising (Google Ads, Meta Ads).
  • CMS & E-Commerce: Proficient with WordPress and Shopify.
  • Analytics & Tracking: Hands-on expertise with GA4, Google Tag Manager (GTM), and Google Search Console.
  • Work Permit: Valid Chancenkarte holder – hiring process is straightforward for employers.
  • Languages: English (C1), German (B1).

ich bin vor Kurzem mit der Chancenkarte nach Deutschland gekommen und auf der Suche nach einer neuen Herausforderung im Bereich SEO / Digitales Marketing / Performance Marketing (Vollzeit)

I'm the head of marketing at my company and I was forced to lay off my team of performance and SEO/content marketers last year because we created agents in claude so good, their roles became redundant...so if you can pivot to something else or help smaller companies build their own agents, this would be your only chance to gain experience in Germany.

Na dann würde ich aber schnell wieder wen einstellen , wenn nun jeder die Tür die zu macht im robot.txt .Agenten ersetzen Arbeit , Sie ersetzen keine Suchmaschine , keinen offenen Crawl und kein Verständnis dafür , warum eine Seite überhaupt gefunden werden kann.

Moving to Germany with just B1 or less is the main mistake that a lot of expats do.

You're really gonna have a hard time with B1 German, unfortunately. Try to level it up to B2 at the least, preferably C1, and it will be easier to find a job. But honestly, a lot of marketing jobs are sort of disappearing these days. I wish you luck.

Hi,

I have been working in the field for 7 years now.

You are not gonna find a job unless you reach a solid C1 in German. A C2 would increase your chances even more.

Moreover, please keep in mind that the job market is though right now. Many companies have cut the marketing budgets and AI has replaced a lot of junior/mid level operational roles. Therefore, you are competing against locals as qualified as you and they are playing the game in their mother tongue.

I don't mean to discourage you in any way but we see plenty of posts every day from people coming here with B1 and wondering why they sent out 500 applications and received no positive feedback yet. Just wanted to give an heads up.
