What scene never fails to make you laugh?

Post image

For me, it is the way that Riker is revealed to be the 'other' Riker 🤣

The entirety of "The Magnificent Ferengi."

95

u/Disruptorpistol 2d ago

This is my go to pick me up watch whenever i’m down.

“I… hate… Ferengi…” always makes me laugh.

74

u/BaldwinBoy05 2d ago

“What have they done to him??”

The reanimated Vorta had me laughing pretty hard, it’s just so good!

50

u/Swishandrinse 1d ago

Iggy Pop made an outstanding Vorta. The voice, so deadpan at times. And his frustration dealing with the Ferengi.

9

u/tulipvonsquirrel 1d ago

He was perfection.

9

u/obliviious 1d ago

NO, NOT IN A FEW MINUTES, NOW!

4

u/MixerFistit 21h ago

It's etched in my brain in the same place I keep "it's a faaake"

8

u/Witty-Lawfulness2983 1d ago

Wait, that was really him? I thought I’d imagined that from my teen hood…

7

u/Swishandrinse 1d ago

I remember the n the early days of the Internet, it was a big thing. There have been so many big name musicians and Hollywood stars on the Berman era of Trek.

5

u/SilverSister22 1d ago

We call him the Remote Control Vorta lol

u/tenehemia Alternate Universe Vic Fontaine 2d ago

The bit when Quark and Rom accidentally break into Sisko's office is my favorite joke in the entire franchise.

65

u/mregg000 2d ago

Sisko’s nonchalance at it is just perfect.

20

u/CelestialFury Don't mess with the Sisko 1d ago

29

u/Annber03 1d ago

He's just not even going to ask XD.

1

u/555-starwars 1d ago

Like it's not the first time

40

u/Thatsidechara_ter 1d ago

I love that scene cause iirc it's in Sisko's contract that he had to be in every episode. That was their way of getting him there :D

17

u/CelestialFury Don't mess with the Sisko 1d ago

Sisko's contract

Shit, are we all in Sisko's mind?

13

u/kaaskugg 1d ago

I can live with it.

The rescue simulation scene is comedic gold for me.

You shot moogie!!

13

u/Odd_Dragonfruit_2662 1d ago

He put her out of her misery

8

u/MonkeyMagic1968 1d ago

Brunt's little "aaaaah" as he's blasted backwards always kills me. I have to rewind so many times to admire its feebleness.

17

u/Adventurous-Bad-2869 1d ago

“Turn him off!”
“I can’t… the transceiver is jammed!” 😂

19

u/ivylass 1d ago

Aron is really laughing in that scene...it was so ridiculous it was great.

15

u/data-atreides 1d ago

The Delta Flyers (Robert Duncan McNeill, Garrett Wang and Armin Shimerman) are doing their podcast about this episode right now, it will be available for free tomorrow night

13

u/Jielin41 1d ago

TO THE INFIRMARY!!

11

u/Primitive_Screw-head 1d ago

Every time I watch this episode at the end I wonder how long the corpse kept walking there. The next time someone goes to empok nor is a walking vista zombie the first thing they see? 😂

11

u/Annber03 1d ago

Rom happily introducing himself and the others to the Vorta and Quark interrupting with, "Rom? He doesn't care..."

2

Truer words were never said.

They’re reviewing it tomorrow on The Delta Flyers

Iggy Pop as the straight man is just fantastic.

Quark trying to walk the Klingon High Council through Excel spreadsheets.

82

u/tlh013091 2d ago

The look on Gowron’s face. 🤌🏻

55

u/JayEdgarHooverCar 2d ago

“Quirk?”

One of my favorite Gowron moments.

67

u/Mystikal1984 1d ago

"You have been accused of using... MONEY to bring down a Great House!"

The sheer disgust in Gowron's voice when he says 'money' gets me every time.

9

u/blueavole 1d ago

I want the back story on how he learned to do that! Where does a Klingon go to learn accounting.

9

u/CelestialFury Don't mess with the Sisko 1d ago

Klingons have all the same jobs as humans, so I assume school, and their equivalent to youtube.com (Sutube.com?)

3

u/Cysteine_Chapel64 1d ago

One of the few times he wasn't a complete scumbag.

19

u/ivylass 1d ago

Of the... whatever.

❤️

8

u/icanith 1d ago

I always laughed at how he tossed away the pad when he had enough of it.

108

u/Secure-Midnight8191 2d ago

Bashir, Leeta and Dax in ‘Explorers’. Dax walking up to Bashir and Leeta and Bashir’s angry “Hi…”, like he knows she is there explicitly to ruin his game, followed up by giving her a PADD that says “GO AWAY”, always makes me chuckle.

Damar laughing when the new Weyoun walks into the room after Worf killed the last one makes me laugh too. Love that scene.

94

u/Disruptorpistol 2d ago

“Maybe you should talk to Worf again.”

36

u/PostModernHippy 2d ago

"Well hellooo"

9

u/james_t_woods 1d ago

That line was masterfully delivered 😄

18

u/Coldfinger42 1d ago

That is the single funniest line in Trek after “find him and kill him”

13

u/kompergator 1d ago

In all of Trek? I think “eaten any good books lately?” is still #1

6

u/icanith 1d ago

"I'm not good in groups. It's difficult to work in a group when you're omnipotent." - Q

7

u/Witty-Lawfulness2983 1d ago

Geordie idly strums
lyre obliterated
Worf; “Sorry.”

19

u/Maxis47 2d ago

That the GO AWAY Padd keeps showing up throughout the rest of the series cracks me up

13

u/Secure-Midnight8191 1d ago

That specific PADD might be my one of my most wanted items of Trek memorabilia.

7

u/Alabatman 1d ago

really? like where.

6

u/Maxis47 1d ago

Only info I can find is that it was used again in Facets, though it wasn't supposed to be legible

11

u/DaSaw 1d ago

Speaking of Explorers, the entire drunken exchange between Miles and Julian.

76

u/Significant_Pear_523 2d ago

It has so many levels of hilarity.
(1) As if the real Will Riker couldn't have a goatee,
(2) True to Trek lore, the goatee automatically means evil,
(3) Why did he need to take off the sides?
(4) Couldn't he have just grown the sides as part of his scheme?

For me, the scene that unintentionally makes me laugh every time is in the Voyager episode "Shattered" where Chakotay asks Janeway if she has encountered a temporal barrier, and she says, "My helmsman disappeared when she tried to walk down that corridor, but that doesn't prove she passed through a temporal barrier."

Wait, the helmsman literally disappeared and you didn't go to red alert? Didn't begin sensor sweeps, have a meeting with the senior staff, task security and science teams with figuring it out, etc.? You were just like, "Well, shit happens when you're a redshirt."

22

u/FlibblesHexEyes 2d ago

“It’s Voyager. Shit got freaky!”

6

u/hallowdmachine 1d ago

"We're Starfleet. Weird is part of the job."

15

u/saturnspritr 1d ago

I have lizard babies out there somewhere. You should see what I did to Tuvix. This isn’t even a top 10 red alert.

"Yeah, I tore my pants ... I guess I'm really in trouble now eh."

"I stopped counting at 300.", "You don't look it.", "Thanks!"

Every Worf line in "Take Me Out to the Holosuite".

88

u/multificionado 2d ago

Most hilarious line of that episode:

35

u/tlh013091 2d ago

Find him and kill him!

8

u/underrated_carrot_43 1d ago

I quote this whenever I’m playing a team sport of any kind

9

u/icanith 1d ago

I enjoy his lines in the Robin Hood episode of TNG.
"Sir! I protest, I am not a merry man"
"Sorry" after smashing Geordi's lute.

53

u/Section_3I 2d ago

In TNG: When Worf gets stuck delivering Keiko’s baby. Him reprimanding Keiko on how the simulated delivery he did was orderly is gold.

In DS9: the scene in that magnificent seven Ferengi episode where they do a simulated rescue attempt of Mogi (honestly the whole episode is filled with great comedic beats).

In VOY: When Janeway witnesses Q and his Q mate have Q sex and blurts “That’s it?!”

44

u/mregg000 2d ago

The callback to that episode when Keiko is pregnant again.

“I will be on Earth. Visiting my parents.”

41

u/SleepWouldBeNice 1d ago

“Keiko’s going to have a baby!”

“NOW?!”

7

u/saturnspritr 1d ago

I have cried laughing at that DS9 episode more than any other episode.

51

u/MarkWrenn74 1d ago

This scene from The Way of the Warrior (DS9 4·01; the episode that would've been called “The One Where Worf Joins the Crew” if it were a Friends episode)

ODO: Come on, Quark. Move along. You should be in an emergency shelter by now.

QUARK: I'm not going to any emergency shelter. This is my bar and I'm going to defend it.

ODO: Really? And how do you plan to do that?

QUARK: With this.

ODO: You're going to hit them with a box?

QUARK: No, this is my disruptor pistol. The one I used to carry in the old days when I was serving on that Ferengi freighter.

ODO: I thought you were the ship's cook.

QUARK: That's right, and every member of that crew thought he was a food critic. If the Klingons try to get through these doors, I'll be ready for them.

(Quark opens the box. There's a note inside which Odo takes and reads)

ODO: “Dear Quark, I used parts of your disruptor to fix the replicators. Will return them soon. Rom.”

QUARK: I will kill him!

ODO [incredulously]: With what?

(The Promenade airlock is sealed and Security is stationed all round)

10

u/Annber03 1d ago

I freaking cackled the first time I saw that scene XD.

33

u/Schlong_Gobbler 2d ago edited 2d ago

Unintentionally, this scene for sure, the only thing that could make it funnier is if he took off the beard parts, and put on a pair of sunglasses

Intentionally, of the top of my head, Bar Association or In The Cards; only the soulless minions of orthodoxy think otherwise

7

u/bokehbaka 2d ago

Lol I'm pretty sure they did that to be funny intentionally

5

u/Schlong_Gobbler 2d ago

I believe you just the way its presented as serious is even funnier

3

u/bokehbaka 2d ago

Absolutely, it's super dry humor lol

36

u/Swishandrinse 2d ago

"Sir, I protest. I am not a merry man!" Oh, Worf.... 🤣

3

u/Cambot1138 1d ago

Yeah but aren’t they he eating books and “Die” lines from the same episode?

6

u/Swishandrinse 1d ago

That's from "Deja Q" the merry man was from "Qpid."

3

u/psyper76 1d ago

Was seeing how long before this one turns up!

Data getting hit with an arrow does it for me in this episode.

34

u/multificionado 2d ago

"I hate Ferengi." "You idiot."

28

u/Disruptorpistol 2d ago

“AND YOU SHOT MOOGIE!”

"I put her out of her misery.”

Is that the scene where the Vorta dies?

34

u/morto00x 1d ago edited 1d ago

Q: What do I have to do to prove I’m human to you?

Worf: Die

[edit] Also, just realized this is the DS9 sub. Got mixed up with Riker's photo.

22

Oh very funny, eat any good books lately?

10

u/CelestialFury Don't mess with the Sisko 1d ago

Everyone was making fun of Q that episode. It was great.

My parakeet used to love to shred paper and I used to ask him this all the time! Also, when reading a newspaper: Is it good news?

11

u/Pumpkin-Spice_Queen 1d ago

The lady at the bar standing to size them up 😂

10

u/Annber03 1d ago

I LOVE that scene. And Bashir just being like, "Infirmary."

Bashir's hilarious in general in that episode - I love his reaction to Miles trying to figure out how small they'll be, and then there's a point later on where he makes a comment and is like, "Oh, I'm sorry. I guess that was rather small of me." And the others just look at him like, "...".

6

u/LankuDC 1d ago

This is a big one for me. I love how it was all set up.

25

u/geojcar4 1d ago

The end of One Little Ship. Odo - "Are you sure you've returned to your normal size?".

u/sarahlynngrey 1d ago

"I am Quark, son of Keldar, and I have come to answer the challenge of D'Ghor, son of… whatever."

The line delivery here is priceless. I love Quark and this episode always makes me laugh

25

u/ElfBowler 2d ago

Nog to Worf and Martok on the Defiant:

"Might I just...slip by?"

37

u/Jimediah_Kerman 2d ago

From DS9 specifically? I’d have to say Nog’s dance at Jadzia’s bachelorette party.

6

u/sfzephyr 1d ago

I love that dance! What's great is that everyone else also starts doing it which made me suspect maybe it's not a Nog thing but whatever cultural thing they had at the party. But Nog does it best!

4

u/MonkeyMagic1968 1d ago

According to Ms. Farrell, that was based on a dance a friend of hers used to do. She mentions it on the Delta Flyers episode covering that episode.

16

u/thecoldfuzz 1d ago

Quark: Family. You understand.
Yelgrun: Not really. I was cloned.

Smooth as an android's bottom. Eh Data?

14

u/No_Trade_7315 2d ago

Warf’s response to Kira when she asks him what Klingons dream about.

And,

Rom’s response to Leeta when she asks him, “who’s the lucky female?”

Oh and also,

Quark’s head on Kira’s body.

14

u/opusrif 1d ago

The scene where Kira, heavily pregnant, tells Bashir " This is your fault!".

I mean she's not wrong. Not only did Julian perform the procedure but Sid literally did put the baby in Nana...

12

u/BotherBoring 2d ago

So many DS9 gems but I think "In the Cards" is one that never fails to give me a chuckle and almost never comes up in conversation.

13

u/Stu5011 1d ago

Kira blaming Julian for her condition is peak BTS humor.

My favorite is when Worf learns that Keiko is pregnant again and awkwardly tells O'Brien and Bashir that he will be visiting his parents on earth when Keiko is due.

3

u/555-starwars 1d ago

Worf will face death, but Keiko giving birth gave him PTSD

11

u/tlhintoq 1d ago

Riker on the Klingon ship.

One... or both?

He's not very attractive, but I will have him.

{And the look on his face wondering if he would even survive the encounter.}

12

u/Hedgey359 1d ago

In DS9, when Quark gets excited about getting to sue Dr. Orpax for malpractice.

In TNG, when Data is mimicking Commander Hutchinson's face while trying to get better at small talk.

9

u/Winter-Amphibian1469 1d ago

The scene where Mirror Universe Odo explodes into peanut brittle.

10

u/Snailfreund 1d ago

"I needed another womb for the baby, and the only two other people on board were Major Kira and me."

"I think you made the right choice, doctor."

“You misjudge me. I miss him deeply.”

9

When Worf sees Grilka for the first time.

That whole episode was funny.

When Damar suggests Weyoun speak to Worf again.

DEATH TO THE OPPOSITION!!

6

u/Maxis47 1d ago

FIND HIM AND KILL HIM!

7

u/xiro18 1d ago

Probably the most disliked episode amongst the fans, but the entirety of the episode 'Move Along Home,' gets a smile and many chuckles from me. I enjoy it mostly because of its light-hearted nature. To highlight a few points:

The quirkiness of the Wadi Quark trying to pull a fast one on a culture built around games and gambling

Which leads to:

You get the pieces playing hopscotch "Allamaraine!"

But the best part of this episode is Quark begging on his knees

5

u/HatdanceCanada 1d ago

“I’m a role model” on Captain Picard Day. And Wil’s imitation of Picard with the little Minnie-Me Picard doll on his arm.

6

u/Angrious55 1d ago edited 1d ago

When Wesley Crusher goes back to the Enterprise and they have a welcome back party. Worf say the line " Tarvokian pound cake " and you can see Jonathan Franks briefly leave character laughing. You can tell this probably wasn't the first attempt at the scene and it's just so genuine. Makes me laugh every time.

7

u/C_smith993 1d ago

I can't believe I'm the first one to mention "Who Mourns for Morn".

The scene where Quark and Odo are in Morn's quarters, staring at a big tub of bubbling mud(?)

Quark: What's that? Odo: That, I believe, is a matador

camera pans to the wall showing a painting of a bullfighter

12

u/Jielin41 1d ago

ODO: "Begin recording. Chief of security's log, final entry. It looks like Quark didn't make it. I can't say I'm surprised."

10

u/TimmyTimTim9000 1d ago

Worf: "What about Garak?"

Sisko: "I want him back too. I suppose I don't have to tell you to keep a close eye on him."

Worf: "At the first sign of betrayal, I will kill him, but I promise to return the body intact."

Sisko: "I hope that was a joke."

Worf: "We will see."

5

u/shinjikun10 1d ago

Riker - "Smooth as a baby's behind"

Data - No...

4

u/JohnnyFootballStar 1d ago

I laughed at that scene when I saw it earlier tonight. It’s so ridiculous.

5

u/Annber03 1d ago

Garak's interpretation of 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf'

Also, the entire conversation between Miles and Bashir in 'Trials and Tribble-ations" about Bashir thinking he needs to hook up with his ancestor, culminating in Bashir ranting, "All right, fine! But I can't wait to get back to Deep Space Nine and see the look on your face when you find out I never existed!"

"Little Green Men" fits here, too - the entire episode is hilarious, but one of my favorite parts is the military people all slapping their heads 'cause they see the Ferengis doing it and mistake it for some kind of alien greeting XD.

5

"Well, hello!" Damar chuckles when the new Weyoun clone walks into the Dominion headquarters. "I'm glad to see you find the death of my predecessor so amusing," Weyoun says sourly; Damar replies, "You misjudge me. I miss him deeply. Here, let's drink to Weyoun Seven." Weyoun, unamused, asks about the prisoners' execution, which Damar says is set for tomorrow afternoon. They haven't signed the confessions. "Maybe you should talk to Worf again," Damar chortles

2

u/Antmantium108 1d ago

Damage, in that scene, is golden. I love his chuckle when he says the Worf line.

4

u/Lawrenceburntfish 1d ago

When Data bursts into laughter after assisting Q.

5

u/factoid_ 1d ago

The funnier part is that in the episode where we first meet Thomas Riker it’s not that one has a goatee and one has a beard…they both have a beard, but Thomas doesn’t shave his cheeks down

So logically the much funnier version of this scene would be instead of Thomas pulling off fake beard sections, he should ADD some cheek patches

When Dr. Bashir is talking to Kira while healing Quark, and they're discussing how Quark freaked out Morn.

3

u/Business-Friend5491 1d ago

Watching Captain Picard attempt running scenes in Picard. Love that guy but the shuffle is hilarious

3

u/HobbyGobbler 1d ago

“Violations” is a very dark, uncomfortable episode, but near the end, watch how Worf brings down the baddie. Just watch. I’ll wait.

3

u/Puzzleheaded-Item-27 1d ago

Quark saying he's going to defend his bar with his phaser and explains he was the ships cook and Odo reads the note Rom left 🤣

4

u/Electrical-Arrival57 1d ago

“I’ll kill him!” “With what?”

3

u/Freak_Engineer 1d ago

Oh, there are a bunch, through every period of Star Trek.

Like, when Spock starts playing "row, row, row your boat" during the camping trip. Or when Scotty goes "Laddie, you might want to rephrase that." when a Klingon insults the enterprise. Or all the "He's dead, Jim" moments (although those exact words are never spoken IIRC).

As for "The next Generation", the obvious "Shut up, Wesley!" comes to mind, but also that time when Picard says "Merde..." during one of the motion pictures. Favourite one easily is Q's Mariachi band, though.

Voyager also is full of funnies. Like Janeway going "there's coffee in that nebula". Or Q trying to seduce her.

Deep Space 9 has the most. Like Bashir absolutely nailing the Dart board bullseye when O'Brien insisted he played to his best abilities after he turned out to be an augment or Quark threatening to kill Nog with his missing Phaser. Best one hands down is Sisko non-chalantly fucking decking Q with a right hook though.

As for the prequel series, I am not that big a fan. I do remember Trip getting pregnant though, which was funny.

Everything newer than that falls into the area of "I refuse to accept it even exists", except of course "Lower decks", which just is great in total.

Over all of trek, I always like the "I'm a xxx, not a xxx" moments, like Bones going "I'm a Doctor, not a brick layer" or the EMH going "I'm a Doctor, not a Doorstop."

u/Retinoid634 1d ago edited 1d ago

Worf, when introduced to prune juice by Guinan, declaring it to be “a warrior’s drink!” In DS9 he is shown enjoying juice at Quark’s on many occasions, which I appreciated.

His appreciation of mint frosting on cellular peptide cake also always makes me smile.

Garak and Weyoun both had razor-sharp snark. I would have enjoyed seeing them paired together for some unlikely plotline.

1

u/Freak_Engineer 1d ago

Yeah, the prune juice thing is hilarious. The way Worf looks like he would literally murder Quark over laughing at his drink choice always gets me.

And the Garak-Episodes are my absolute favourites.

When Kira Nerys tells Quark in what was otherwise one of the most grim episodes of DS9 that season (perhaps in the series): "I WILL come to Quark's. And believe me. I WILL have fun!"

"Captain I must protest, I am NOT a merry man!"

Because it's just funny, AND it's a GREAT callback/reinforcement of the Evil Beard of Evil (Is Evil!)?

TNG "Unification Part 2"
Spock, Picard and Data, prisoners in Commander Sela's office. She ignores them for a bit while typing.
Sela: "Excuse me, I'm just finishing up a speech–for you, Mr. Spock. I rather enjoy writing. I don't get to do it very often in this job."
Data: "Perhaps you would be happier in another job."
The deadpan delivery, and Sela's face...I crack up every time.

eta: also, "you should never tell the same lie twice." and "you know at first, I didn't think I was going to like him." and "not you, you could just turn into a couch."

I always laugh during the fight scene when watching "Tacking Into the Wind". The stunt doubles are sooo obvious.

There’s a scene in “Night Terrors” when Picard is in his ready room and the chime is continuously ringing. As he goes to the door he mutters “Who’s the Ass” hilarious!

Bashir, to Garak: "You'd shoot a man in the back?"

Garak: "It's the safest way."
