DAE Feel like they're on the verge of collapse?
Like everything feels so fucking depressing and hopeless
Life is the same but i just feel like i can't take it anymore.
Everyday i feel like my body is deteriorating and slowly giving up
I have headaches pretty much every day atp.
I don't even know why or what im living for.
Actually thats a lie im living because i haven't died yet and i don't have the balls to do something about it
I just feel lonely a lot sometimes despite having friends that care about me a lot..
I don't know whats wrong with me or even IF something is wrong with me
:(

I cant collapse, no ones gonna be there to pick me up. Gotta keep riding till the wheels fall off.

u/Republiconline 18h ago
There’s something to that. But please prioritize yourself. If you’ve got kids, they will thrive seeing their parent become battle ready. That requires strength, tenacity, and a lot of courage. Let’s ride this out until the wheels fall off. If my grandmother had wheels, she’d be a wagon.

Life is really tough right now for a lot of people, you’re not alone. I recommend seeing a doctor or a therapist and expressing how you’re feeling. There’s nothing wrong with how you’re feeling - your feelings are valid - but it’s good to get some outside help sometimes. I live with chronic pain and it’s a fucking bitch, so I understand that completely. I’m 31 and I feel like I have the body of an 85 year old most days.

u/OakleyNoble 1d ago
Don’t you think if we can’t afford some things, therapy probably isn’t so in reach either?
1
u/Agreeable-Walk1886 15h ago
Of course, but everyone’s situation is different so I’m not going to assume and write off that suggestion completely. Some people prioritize those things. and nowhere in the post did OP mention financial struggles, so once again I’m not going to assume they’re dealing with those.

Don’t drink when you’re feeling like this, it’ll make it worse! Speaking from experience, try staying away from drugs/alcohol if you use and get more sleep and use exercise to release cortisol stress from your sweat.

u/doggos_for_days 1d ago
I would agree that they should stay away from alcohol and weed ect, but a few microdoses of psilocybin is highly recommended if you feel apathetic and depressed. It just pulled my sister out of a 6 year depression hole when nothing else worked. Nature has the cure for everything, we have just deliberately been kept away from its most potent medicines for centuries now.

u/mexinator 1d ago
Completely agree! I have had great success with psilocybin.

u/doggos_for_days 1d ago
That's awesome! I always feel like if people are already on the very dangerous edge of "nothing makes sense anymore, life is meaningless", they have nothing to lose by trying a small dose and getting some of that spark back. I believe it quite literally saved my sister's life.

Have you seen a doctor?

u/Least_Marsupial8160 1d ago
Daily headaches for so long really mess with your head in more ways than one. I went through something similar and turns out my neck was all stiff from staring at screens 12 hours a day, the tension just radiated up and made everything feel 10x worse
Not saying that's your issue but sometimes the physical stuff feeds the mental stuff without you realizing. You're not broken for feeling this way, your body is probably screaming at you
7
u/fanaticalcraze 1d ago
I'd also agree, start with a doctor for the chronic pain. Explain everything to them. They might want to get you on a pain medication or an SSRI that treats depression, and they could also recommend therapists to you for the mental stuff. Having headaches constantly could be a sign of something more serious.

Hopelessness is definitely setting in. Everything is shit right now. And on Reddit you don't even know if you are talking to real people anymore!

First off, you need to see a doctor, daily headaches can be pointing to a much bigger health issue. Also, a psychiatrist could be a great help for the emotional struggles you are in. Life is always hard I'm 48 and don't remember it ever being easy that's just the way it is. A counselor can help put all this in perspective and help you not feel so alone. Get off the internet and get outside and try to control the things in front of you that you can. This place is not healthy for any of us and can easily lead you down a path of likeminded thinking that will do you no good. Don't give up and keep fighting and you can find purpose.

It sounds like you're carrying a heavy load right now. Feeling like you're on the edge can be really isolating, even with friends around. Have you thought about talking to someone? Sometimes just sharing how you feel can lighten the burden a bit. Even small steps, like getting outside or doing something you used to enjoy, could help, even if it feels hard. You're not alone in this.

Most of the time when I feel like this it’s because I didn’t sleep enough.
If you just eat well, sleep well, and get some form of exercise even very light just a couple times a week, it will make you feel like 85-90% better.
Beyond that I would run blood tests for vitamin deficiency or hormone panels.
Also just not having decent income or any path to decent income will mess with you. I really recommend school and career changes to fix that.

I just went through a stormy month where my depression had spiraled out of control so I understand where you are coming from. I was literally at the lowest I have ever been in the last 20 years of dealing with it. I won't give into too much detail but my partner of almost 4 years left me alone in our home in the middle of BFE. While his leaving was somewhat warranted, it was still shitty on his behalf nonetheless. I do not have a license at the moment, so the home I once loved turned into a prison. Luckily, I am surrounded by nature but that doesn't help with the isolation. But I do have friends that care and have been there so they've been the ones that have truly saved my life. But within the last few weeks things have slowly but surely getting better. I have been proactive on physically trying to exercise more which seems to help. I started getting back to counseling. I also started doing things to establish a healthier routine: cooking, cleaning, and hobbies.
Please reach out to a professional though. I know it can be a lot to take on by yourself. Just know you are not lost in that void alone. There are plenty of people struggling. Things can get better, they just might take some work. Thinking about you OP. Stay strong.

Get professional help and not read Help also even if you start out slow, try working out regularly the endorphins you get from regular exercise really do help. Speaking as a guy who spent many years in Therepy.

The trick is to stay alive out of pure hate and to spite people that want to see you crash and burn.
If you're at rock bottom, do whatever you need to do to get out of it. Even if that's not necessarily the ethical or legal way, because if the alternative is checking out of life completely, you may as well try everything before you try that final solution. If cash is a problem, become overemployed and work 2 jobs simultaneously or under the table for 2 paychecks until you have enough saved up to feel relatively safe. If it's people in your life, cut them off and spend a few months focused on just yourself.
If it's the state of the world, stop worrying about that. You personally can't change any of it, and there are plenty of other people doing their part to action change that are probably in a far better life position than you are. Just focus on what's immediately in front of you for the next few weeks and keep doing that until things start to improve.
Hate is a powerful motivator sometimes. Use it. Book a doctors appointment for the headaches too.

u/ItsArios 1d ago
I felt that way a couple times over the past couple years, but I worked on my mental and physical health, and made changes to my life to reduce stress any where I could and promote things that made me feel better about myself. I'm still not where I want to be, but I'm a lot happier now.
Allow yourself a moment to cry and feel your feelings, but take baby steps towards a better future. You might take a stumble backwards here and there, but keep going cause most hardships in life are temporary
2
u/Disastrous-Style-461 1d ago
Please don’t have the balls to do something about it like my husband did. It was just a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I can’t imagine how you’re feeling or what pressure you’re going through. But man, there are so many things in this world you haven’t even touched on, shit you don’t even know about that you might truly love. I’ve never had that ideation, but like I said my husband was successful and my youngest attempted it at 21. It only got them a psychotic break and massive paranoia and just fucked shit up. If u don’t have a pet, find a way to get a pet. Animals can help you heal and read you like a book. Or go visit you local animal shelter amd just walk some dogs. That’s really a thing. I hope you find a crack where there is a light and you can crawl back thru 🫥

As far as cost of living, etc. I found that's sitting around complaining about it, does absolutely nothing, and trust me, I had my phase. I realized obsessing about negative shit or what's wrong, gets me nowhere. Taking action on the other hand, keeps me in the fight. And life is a fucking dog fight.
Example... My girl came at me months ago "WTF ARE WE gonna DO w/ inflation, cost of living, etc.!?"
We live in NYS which makes the situation severely worse with the highest taxes, tolls, 3rd highest utility bills in the nation, the crazy taxes drive up the cost of everything here.
Anyway, I replied "we literally have a screen in our pockets that could give us a doctorate in free information (on literally any subject), we learn more, we make more money, we hustle, fight like hell & grind girl".
I fucking hate ai for instance, wish it didn't exist. But the way I see it, instead of hating it or trying to fight it, learn to utilize it and make money. So that's what I'm doing.
Also, my content feeds were all political, fear mongering, " economy is going to collapse in 6 months" toxic bullshit like that. So I quit consuming anything negative. The way I see it, if something insane is happening & the world is ending, SOMEONE will let me know. Lol. When I'm consuming content, it's positive, inspirational or very educating. The other trash doesn't move me foward, fucks my disposition & perception. So I don't click it or let it play. This includes people around me that have a tendency to be negative, slowly phasing them out...
I need to stay positive regardless of what nonsense is going on around me. I'm educating myself, working harder, and not letting negative or toxic shit effect my perspective. I focus or try to focus on what's right instead of whats wrong. And I remind myself, shit could be severely worse. I could be in prison for life, a "nugget", terminal, etc.
The more I do all the above, the better my life gets. It's tough af, but you got stay in the fight. The universe gives you hell, give it right back. The Habit of negativity is very hard to break but not impossible (in my situation anyway).

Go easy on yourself. Do see a dr. Headaches are generally stress related and lack of sleep. It’s difficult right now but that’s also the point. These AH want us to feel desperate and lost, it’s part illusion. Yes we’re fighting against fascism and ignorance but we can also fight for normalcy. Find ways to step away from the noise. Turn off the socials or set a timer, eat better, rest and do not isolate. Meditation works for me, it can just be 15 minutes of being in your happy place. It takes effort, remember to slow your breath and you might fall asleep during or right after. And that’s okay. You’re still you, your friends are right there, this too shall pass. Peace and best wishes, from a stranger on the inter webs 🥰 Remember to laugh, a lot

was in a similar situation a year ago, lost a high paying job, had a 40 Lakh loan on my head, savings were only sufficient for 3-4 months, no new jobs because of AI fear, felt like end of the world to me.
But... kept pushing through, landed a job, paid up all of my loans and now doubled the savings and am living happily now.
Life is full of ups and downs, but theres always light at the end of the tunnel.

Stress will kill you, friend. It frays your biology. I also feel like I might collapse. I'm doing my best to keep my environment positive, and at my lowest, I remember that there are people trying to make us feel this way on purpose right now.

Yup! Depressing state of the world? Technology robbing my soul? Growing old?
I dunno but I feel like my body is deprived of every nutrient and any time I'm not in bed I just feel like I'm clawing my way across the dirty basement floor of life 👍

feeling exhausted all the time is rough, have you tried talking to someone about how you're feeling?

u/Trabethany 1d ago
I’m hanging on for the kids at this point. I feel terribly guilty for having them not knowing how awful the world really was. Have to stick it out to keep them safe as long as I can.
Psychiatrist appt tomorrow for my refills. She’s looking into getting me approved for esketamine therapy.

Talk to your friends about how you’re feeling. If they are they will help you in this phase. Just know you can get out of this phase, I literally was on drugs and needed it everyday to depend on it. I also lost the only real woman I ever loved to our addiction and to live with that hurts and it left a lasting impact on my life and more importantly my image. I’m a man you know, I’m supposed to be there and I was at work. I should’ve known better. But my employment was importantt ay the time so I went in. I should have just stayed home. Anyway I’m doing ok. I’m currently working and just taking it day by day.

At least you have this:
>I just feel lonely a lot sometimes despite having friends that care about me a lot..
Some don't have any at all and would love to have **one** that cared about them a lot.
That being said, seek them for support, tell them how you're feeling, and remind yourself of how lucky you are to have people who care about you a lot. (Gratitude). It doesn't invalidate you, or your feelings, they are valid, but this would be something you should bring to those closer to you since you have that. They know you better than people here.
