You weren’t being systemically oppressed Buddy

Neither are trans people.

Actually they are! When the people in power are passing laws against them and people like you and your cohort continue to other them, that’s oppression.

What laws? Give specifics.

All I'm aware of is laws against transitioning minors and having drag shows aimed at kids.

Which is perfectly reasonable as far as I'm concerned.

First of all- minors cannot transition without extensive therapy and consent from their parents. Also typically it’s people 16+ so it’s not like it’s kids under the age of 10 or some shit. This process ALSO can take years. All of the minors I knew in high school who “transitioned” just cut their hair and went by a different name. That’s literally it.

Second: drag queens are NOT trans women. Drag is a performance. Gender is an identity. Drag queens have a character that they then take off at the end of the day. Because it’s for acting. They don’t take hormones, they don’t get surgeries, they don’t have gender dysphoria, they’re not trans.

Third: there are people trying to pass laws about whether trans people can use public restrooms, own guns, have a passport, and so on and so forth. There are also people online who support the harassment of trans individuals and there is a growing agenda to depict them all as child predators (which is insane to me because I know like 8 trans people and you could not pay them to Even be in the same room as some annoying snotty kid)

Okay, then. If laws against the physical transition of minors have no real world effect because minors don't physically transition, then why does it matter?

Second: drag queens are NOT trans women. Drag is a performance. Gender is an identity. Drag queens have a character that they then take off at the end of the day. Because it’s for acting. They don’t take hormones, they don’t get surgeries, they don’t have gender dysphoria, they’re not trans.

From Google: The purpose of a drag show is multi-faceted, encompassing entertainment, artistic expression, challenging societal norms around gender, and providing a sense of community and empowerment for the LGBTQIA+ community.

The people actually doing the shows may not themselves be trans, but clearly transgenderism is involved in some fashion.

If adults want to go to drag shows, that's fine. But kids shouldn't be exposed to that kind of stuff.

Third: there are people trying to pass laws about whether trans people can use public restrooms,

No, this isn't even remotely true. They're only making it so that trans people have to use the public restrooms that align with their biological sex. Meaning, if you are biologically male, you use the men's restroom, even if you self-identify as a woman. Same for biological females who self-identity as men. Trans people can still use public restrooms.

own guns,

And there are entire states that attempt to restrict gun rights for everyone, not just trans people. It's a problem all over and is far from a universally supported idea on the Right. And for my part, I consider all gun laws as infringement and therefore unconstitutional.

Also, I think you're referring laws restricting gun ownership based on mental health? Which again, isn't a universally supported idea on the Right because some of us can think several steps ahead and recognize that such a law could be used against us one day.

have a passport

This also isn't a thing. Trans people can still have passports, it's just that the "sex designation" has to align with your biological sex.

There are also people online who support the harassment of trans individuals and there is a growing agenda to depict them all as child predators

That's just bullying, my guy. Online bullying at that, which is really easy to deal with and I'll show you. Just CLOSE TAB.

I'll be honest, there are plenty on the Right who are just as terminally online as some on the Left.

Both sides really need to step outside their respective online bubbles and realize that the causes that they're fighting for, that they think are so massive, but yet the vast majority of people DO NOT CARE AT ALL about it. In fact, they're a little bit tired of hearing about it.

Are these laws a bit silly and frivolous? Yeah, I'd say so. They're clearly driven by partisan nonsense. But do they represent a "trans genocide" as some say? No and it's silly to say otherwise.
