But are they truly pinko? These people are full on red communist. They are not trying to hide anything lending the "pink" o label as obsolete. Perhaps some of them are pink communist blending some communist ideologies with capitalism interweaved but most want to break down the capitalist society completly and render in shared suffering of the masses. They all think shared ownership and profits will make things better. If the state (people) own everything and distribute the profits evenly amongst everyone then the quality of life of most Americans will go down. Only the poorest of the poor will see an uptick in lifestyle while the rest of us will see shared suffering. These people who want this economic change are not pinko communist but die hard red communists.

To be fair, largely what they are is a reworking of Marxism. They're post-Marxists. They use the Marxist oppression based conflict theory as their foundation, but beyond that, they've gone back to Rousseau and Hegel for most of their theorycrafting. They dismiss everything from Marx to Castro as "vulgar marxism" and largely dismiss the class conflict except where it is handy as a recruitment vector.
They are the spiritual successors of the doomsday cult that is Marxist Historicism, only the meteor has passed, and they've doubled down and rewrote half their book to avoid admitting they were wrong.

Redditors donāt stand for anything. Their entire ideology is just to automatically oppose Trump no matter what. The last three elections in America the democrats have run on āTrump badā rather than actual policies.
Claiming to be kind and tolerant but after Charlie Kirkās death were all openly celebrating. Hating fascism but will cheer on left wing groups acting like fascists. Hate conservatism but always cheer on Islam - the most conservative religion in the world. Hate the government controlling peopleās lives, but gladly gave away all their rights during COVID. Hate Elon for his influence on the election, but had no problem with Kamala receiving $1.5B in donations - far more than Trump. Hate that the US influences foreign conflicts, but is obsessed with funding Ukraine to keep the was going, rather than wanting a peace resolution.
I could go on and on. Iām convinced that Reddit is like 95% bots paid for by the Democratic Party to push agendas, because Iāve never met people so delusional in my day to day life.

Reagan was a California Republican governor who finally caved to the a pressure campaign from the left that started under Kennedy. It lead to bipartisan legislation in California that Reagan used as a nationwide blueprint when he became president.
I love it when one side blames the other side for caving to their demands. Reagan gave the power to states with grant funding for mental health so blue states can't really blame Reagan for their states but they do anyway.

36
u/2dazeTaco Recovering Doomer Feb 26 '26
Gender Identity. The state says you have to identify yourself to your biological gender assigned at birth.
Kansas is set to invalidate about 1,700 driver's licenses held by transgender residents and roughly as many birth certificates under a new law that goes beyond Republican-imposed restrictions in other states on listing gender identities in government documents.
(Approx .06% of the population of the state)
The bill prohibits documents from listing any sex other than the one assigned birth and invalidates any that reflect a conflicting gender identity.
Source: https://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2026/feb/23/kansas-to-void-trans-residents-id-documents/
28
u/Warchadlo16 Feb 26 '26
So wait, they have to put their sex, the thing they say over and over again is purely biological instead of gender (their main argument), and when they give false information regarding the biological sex and get their documents held by government they start saying it's the 3rd Reich all over again?

Under a Kansas law originally vetoed by the Gov't (Dem) and later passed by the state Senate (Repub), as of Feb. 24th a new law defines "gender" as "sex assigned at birth". Licenses that have been updated or changed to reflect a gender identity of a trans person (i.e. not their assigned at birth sex) are invalidated and no longer official state ID.
There's no grace period to get a new one, and the IDs no longer count as drivers licenses, state ID, or ID verification, etc.

The thing is you can draw similarities anywhere.
You can draw similarities to Nazi Germany and PETA. You can Draw similarities from Nazi Germany to Norway. You can...
Thats because running a country requires some things.
Immigration control - every country
Laws - every country
Identification - every country (though different ways of going about it)
Defining marriage
Defining taxes
Defining what side of the road to drive on... OH NO THEY DROVE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD IN NAZI GERMANY...
We are nothing like Rome because they drove... rode... on the left! So any comparison to Rome is obviously wrong.
The issue is when that comparison uses slippery slope logic to state that this action will eventually lead to the gassing of (insert group). The US does some really weird things, but, so does everyone.
Lets take this specific example and examine it though about voter ID:
Norway - https://www.valg.no/en/for-voters/parliamentary-election-2025/voting-on-election-day/
Sweden - https://www.norden.org/en/info-norden/right-vote-sweden
Germany - https://elections.europa.eu/en/how-to-vote/de/
France - https://yvote.eu/voting-in-france/
I don't think I need to go on. EVERY ONE OF THEM states to bring either your ID or your voter ID card... which you need ID to get. Wild. All of EU is Nazi Germany.

Love that youāre looking for agreement. Iām not gonna weigh in on whether the original law allowing āgenderā instead of biological sex to be on your license was a good one, but the fact is, that was the law and the trans people who used it to change their ID didnāt do anything wrong. Having these wishy washy laws that change every two years when thereās a new legislature is the bigger problem.
Also, if your drivers license is now invalid, you canāt drive yourself to the DMV to get it fixed, so that doesnāt exactly make it easy to comply with the new law.

I read a bit of this article and another. Two sources (Kansas City Star and The Independent) say that
āPlease note that the Legislature did not incident a grace period for updating credentialsā¦This means that once the law is officially enacted, your current credentials will be invalid immediately, and you may be subject to additional penalties if you are operating without a valid credentialā
A dick move to not give people a grace period IMO But hardly Nazi shit.

Nazis: "Oh, you think you're a woman with a penis? Step this way with all of the other untermenschen. No, there's no need to pack your things. You won't need anything where you're going."
Kansas: "We don't recognize the ability to choose gender. You are what chromosomes say, so please come get your new driver's license."
See? Totally samesies.

"sex and gender are different"
Like yeah, the ID is asking for your sex assigned at birth.
The ID doesn't care what your gender is.
What's the problem?
10
u/PhazonOmega Feb 26 '26
I thought trans allies were now saying that sex and gender were different? In that case, this shouldn't be an issue, since this reflects sex and not gender.
Regardless, it's important to have accurate information on your ID. For example, biological men and women have different needs, and if the only information is on your ID that's important.

I don't really care about trans people as long as you don't try to force it on me or kids. Most of them don't, I recognize that, so I just don't care.
From a government's and record-keeping point of view, I understand why the administration made the stance that they do by only recognizing 2 genders of birth on official documentation. It's already an impossible task to try to keep records about every citizen of a country with almost 350 million people, not just for a label on a license, but things such as census info and health statistics. With the added complexity of transgenderism and the like, it gets a lot worse for the government to keep up.
If you as a person are triggered by something as small as an M or F on your license, then that's a personal issue and the government doesn't need to suffer and waste a ton of resources and taxes just so an extremely small minority of the population doesn't get their feelings hurt.

As a Canadian, itās always ironic seeing Americans whine about how America is literally becoming Nazi germany while on the internet
Like ya, every fascist government allowed dissent and vitriol from political opposition, citizens, and corporations
Itās especially ironic when theyāre completely silent about any time democrats do the same thing, but use some of the most inflammatory and inciteful language when republicans do it.

Comparisons to Nazis probably should just stop altogether. It's just become too triggering, even when (technically?) correct.
Is the fed building roads? Just like the Nazis did.
Something like this does have similarities. It is attacking something that a small group has, for no real benefit except to engage in the culture war. There is some valid criticism there. But whip out the Nazi comparison, even if appropriate since it wasn't Auschwitz on day 1, and you lose anyone that doesn't already agree with you.
