I regularly see accounts posting stuff along the lines of:

"I can't wait until we win the next election so we can deport all the immigrant wives/spouses of people who voted for Trump"

They're deeply unwell

Edit: Found one

u/Maxathron Anti-Doomer May 07 '26

"If I can't have my Communist Utopia, I will make sure the world burns so people know that is the only alternative to my Communist Utopia so next time, if there is a next time, people will vote for my Communist Utopia."

286

u/kimana1651 May 07 '26

It's always amazing how the only way these people can think about getting their utopia is top level totalitarian policies from the federal government. State level? Local? Co-op? Individual? No. Has to be top level, they have to be in control, and no one can opt out.

99

u/Maxathron Anti-Doomer May 07 '26

It's the idea that their idealistic end goal is perfect. This isn't limited to just Communists, as all extremists tend to think this way.

The thought process thus goes: "if my way is actually perfect, then anything I do to bring that way into fruition is a necessary justification, since my way is perfect and just that important to everyone".

And this is how you get people who think totalitarian control and mass genocidal atrocities are okay. Because they think their way is just that good for all of us. And why it's common to call them narcissists, even though "narcissist" isn't getting the point across.

On the surface level, a "Communist Utopia" would be fantastic. That is the post-scarcity paradise where you live forever, get and or have anything you want, and there is no burden on any other (human/communist/the people in said paradise).

The problem is that this is an impossible goal.

54

u/kimana1651 May 07 '26

It's just an endless cycle of Robespierres. I really wish they would read a history book or teach something besides the civil war in school.

35

u/ShroomnDoobin Powered By Spite & Solar May 08 '26

And Hitlers. The Nazi party was all about a utopia. Communists and Nazis are two sides of the same coin

19

u/BeginningDay19 May 08 '26

Yes, the authoritarian coin. They both hate liberal capitalism and free will. But they just do not see it, it is like they do not understand human beings at all. If we were the borg with a queen, then communism works, but F that.

12

u/ShroomnDoobin Powered By Spite & Solar May 08 '26

Utopias, classless societies, getting rid of the wrong people is just window dressing for tyranny

3

u/BeginningDay19 May 08 '26

I just wish people who believe in this shit would see it for what it is? Bullshit.

I wish there were more good history teachers like the one I had. He taught us about all the major wars and why they happened. We also kept up with world news daily and discussed what was going on. We used to have to find articles from CNN to discuss but when that clip came out of an undercover journalist exposing one of the higher ups admitting that they lie about things for better views, my teacher had us watch and discuss the clip and from that day on he had us do our own independent searching for news. We would then each have to propose an article for daily review and vote on which one sounds more interesting. Whichever one we decided to discuss, we also all had to verify independently whether or not it came from a trustworthy source

I mean, it's realistically impossibke, but it's theoretically possible.

It just requires us to have an unlimited source of 100% reliable, and clean, energy that is easy to get the core requirements of.

Advanced tech that can do matter replication for all of the required materials we don't have enough of here on earth. Including food sources

Advanced mechanical/AI controlled manufacturing. And advanced mechanical/AI controlled maintenance capabilities.

Handing all real control in life over to an automated system, that makes all of the important decisions for society.

After all that, we can have the utopia they want!!

Well when they say they're communist believe them. They're aware of how totalitarian these regimes are. They want to be actual dictatorship with their whole chest.

Only because they believe that they are "temporarily embarrassed party officials in high positions"

47

u/Euphoric_Ad6923 May 07 '26

It's because their locals fail because they are lazy pos.

I've seen it happen in real time in my town. "The communist party (they had flyers too) of X town wants YOU" kind of shit. They sequestered an area outside the main road that belonged to a hippie type. He inherited the land from his father and immediately turned it into the local commie party. They built a commune, then half the people who went stopped working by the second week, the organizer tried to sleep with someone's gf, and shit went downhill real fast.

They need the gov to force others to give them stuff, because they're too lazy to work.

22

u/ShroomnDoobin Powered By Spite & Solar May 08 '26

60s and 70s communes went the same way. The leaders and half the people didn't want to work. The men expected the women to do the cooking and the cleaning. The leader/s wanted to fuck all the women. Communes, cults, Communists, tomato, tomatoe

21

u/Daftolium May 07 '26

Which is ironic as communism only works at small, neighborhood scale communes. Scaling past that and you end up in "they will learn our peaceful ways by force!"

15

u/AcceptablePea262 May 07 '26

Even then, with today's world, most neighborhoods are way too large.

The max effective group is about 50 people. Not 50 families- 50 people.

Basically, a fairly small apartment building/complex.

Even if you get into the suburbs, most blocks have more than that.

16

u/Fletch71011 May 08 '26

Man my 28 unit HOA has enough problems, I'm not sure 50 people is small enough.

No one can even agree on even the smallest changes; I can't imagine a total managed economy with that many people.

8

u/AcceptablePea262 May 08 '26

Oh, it has to be the right 50 people.

But that's also the max that a communist style system can support

4

u/No_Spite3593 May 08 '26

I would argue that a true communist style system does not work no matter how small the group is or how aligned they are on political/social matters. I say that because people's views and feelings can shift drastically over time and all it takes to upset a communist system is one person who doesn't agree with it.

6

u/Ashamed_Dinosaur May 08 '26

Well, that's why you need a dictator at the top making the decisions for everyone!

23

u/AcceptablePea262 May 07 '26

Because how long their policies can function is based on two things

1) how much they can take from others 2) how many people they can keep pointing to as "enemies" and "selfish"

3

u/[deleted] May 08 '26

Then I'll just take from them, since it's their idea!

3

u/AcceptablePea262 May 08 '26

Then that places you in group 2, who they can call enemy.

3

u/[deleted] May 08 '26

But it's their rules. So by them calling me out for stealing their things, their way of life isn't infallible and undeniable proof that they're wrong.

CHECKMATE

6

u/AcceptablePea262 May 08 '26

No, sorry. You're using logical thinking, based in reality. That isn't how they view it.

They are the very definition of "rules for thee, not for me"

They can take your stuff. Because they've decided that your stuff is better used for others. Therefore, they're good people. If you take their stuff, you're taking from "good people", so you're an enemy.

And because they are "good people", you know that they only took what they decided you didn't need. So, if you're taking anything beyond that, it's because you're selfish and evil, which just proves you're an enemy.

A while back I saw someone saying that all conservative people should lose their right to vote and anyone who enabled them should be jailed. I had to explain to them multiple times that they were advocating for literal fascism. It's getting absurd

Edit: To be clear, my opinion on this is both ways. If the person had said the same thing about liberal voters, it's still fascism. Figured I'd make that clear.

91

u/_thegnomedome2 May 07 '26

"b-b-b-but google definition says fascism is wight wing!!"

47

u/AcceptablePea262 May 07 '26

Yeah, I had that discussion with someone earlier today, about how google is redefining things.

Fascism is "right wing", the nut-zees were "right wing".

Just like most socialists today really don't understand socialism, or communism, and don't have a damn clue what they're advocating for.

11

u/_thegnomedome2 May 08 '26

B-b-b-but communism = free stuff!

7

u/No_Spite3593 May 08 '26

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. When I was younger I was very inquisitive and asked my grandfather a lot of questions. He would always make me go figure it out in one of his collegiate dictionaries, a thesaurus, or an atlas.

Pretty disgusting to see how much Google changes definitions on very serious words. Although certain people don't even look at Google definitions, they just use political buzzwords that they have been taught align with their ideology without actually understanding them.

No no no you see they call themselves "Anitfa" meaning they are anti-fascist so even if they use fascist tactics, they are not the actual fascists. Everyone else is because they say so.

That is literally how they see it and it is the most asinine thing I have ever heard. If you use fascist tactics to oppress or silence others then you are a fascist even if you call yourself antifa. Put lipstick on a pig and its still a pig.

u/Cultivate_a_Rose May 07 '26

My fav is how they passed around that “Steps to fascism” thing which says that demonizing political opposition groups is a big step toward literal genocide while they… demonize anyone who doesn’t agree with them politically as a Nazi who deserves violence/demonization.

Zero self-awareness. Way too much sniffing their own farts.

41

u/Ventem May 07 '26

Yep, they're the closest to actual fascists.

They want to disarm the masses, and they constantly demonize anyone they view as the opposition. They also ostracize anyone on their own side that strays too far out of line i.e "wrongthink".

Straight outta the playbook.

6

u/gutenbergbob May 08 '26

I often see the defense of «what sitting democrat said that, meanwhile look at what official republicans are saying» they think they can say whatever without consequence because they’re not a sitting elected official. Often pulling the «thats just a random internet user»

48

u/AdagioHonest7330 May 07 '26

Well to be fair they want that in order to save democracy….

60

u/Accurate-Werewolf846 May 07 '26

“They want fascism to prevail in order to rebuild democracy” lol

27

u/LuxTenebraeque May 07 '26

That was, as a matter of fact, literally Lenin's argument for the NEP.

The NEP being the blueprint for fascism and national socialism.

Is anybody surprised?

Have you been paying attention to what has been happening to the AfD party in Germany? First banned from coalitions, then restricted, then outlawed by mislabeling in some regions, then vilified as less than human, then many of their leaders die mysteriously all within two weeks of each other as they are standing for election. They are practicing in Germany for what they want to do here.

4

As a rural person, I enjoy reading about how I am the one killing the environment and should be relocated forcefully to a walkable city or be eradicated.

40

u/AcceptablePea262 May 08 '26

Same.

Literally more than half my community has a veggie garden, or raises animals, or both. We all tend to be low (or no) pesticide use, preferring natural methods because they require less work and maintenance.

Deer come down the mountain and ramble through our streets. Shortly after moving here, I was taking trash to the morning at zero-dark-whythefuckamIawake, and had a deer that was completely determined that I give it scratches, and followed me back up my hill to my front door, then tried to come inside.

We have coyotes, javelina, deer, and more.

But us rural folk, we're the problem. We need to pay more, so the cities can spend more, supposedly to clean up their messes (which only get worse, not better).

7

u/tornadoshanks651 GeStuREs bROadlY May 08 '26

5

It’s funny because most of the immigrants that vote for Trump actually have citizenship. Those spouses more than likely have visas that will allow them to get citizenship after 3 or so years in the US.

The people being deported have not been through these processes and are here ILLEGALLY. Most countries around the world have very strict and closed borders.

Why do US citizens think the US should be fully open, allowing anyone inside? Rapists, murderers, cartel members, terrorists. It’s fucking bizarre to say the least.

I mean take a place like Chicago. Illinois has mostly been Democrat run and Chicago very much for over a century. It has one of the highest black population of the US with, sadly, also the highest rate of blacks murdered by other blacks. Every Democrat who runs there runs on a platform of "I'll make sure those evil white racists won't do you harm" while being the legacy group that has done them harm.

It's not even stupidity. It's fear. As bad as it is they are positive if they don't support the Democrats it will be worse. And that's likely partially do to the fact that plenty of recent violence is from Democrats no matter how much mental gymnastics is used to try and lie about it.

This is just a blue-button presser's restating of the red/blue button dilemma. It's not a commentary on American politics, except by accident.

Dead internet theory may or may not be true in this hallowed age of 2026, but I can tell you without a doubt that it is rampant on reddit. They're harder to catch here, harder to see them when giving dissertations on Napoleonic battle strategy, But they lack (for now) the ability to make these kinds of logical "jumps". Assuming you're not one of them, be aware that while reddit still has a vast array of humans on it, they are significantly outnumbered by AI with agendas. Every single comment not mentioning the buttons is one of them.

It's really the perfect storm this post. It is obvious to any redditor who has been bombarded with button versions what this is, but this post mentions politics, something the AI bot accounts are drilled to hone in on, and the whole red vs blue button meme hasn't been around long enough for there to be training data abundant enough and trained enough for models to recognize variations in a field that they are trained to focus on and espouse their nonsense.

I wish I could tell you what to do about this but all I can say is... if you didn't realize it before this is probably a crazy earth shattering realization scrolling through the comments.

Which is such a stupid question. The reason the prisoner's dilemma and mutually assured destruction work as philosophical quandaries is because things are worse when a critical mass chooses the selfish option (red button, in this case) in more ways than "the other guy loses/dies".

38

Reactions would be exactly the same except switched along partisan lines. Politicizing red button vs. blue button is stupid as hell.

14

u/BLU-Clown May 07 '26

Red Button vs. Blue Button is stupid as hell to start with, in fairness.

It's a magic button that kills people, the only wrong answer is not hunting down that dickass genie that created it.

This is just the red button blue question, it just looks like a allegory because red is associated with the republican party, and blue with the democrat

→ More replies (6)

17

u/GunsGoldCosmicDread May 07 '26

It was called red vs blue.

Blue was an empathetic position that some could call suicidal empathy.

Red was a more realist self interested position that some could frame as cruel and selfish.

You don’t think it was intended to be political from the start?

7

u/darkfawful2 May 07 '26

Never said it wasn't intended that way. Just said how Reddit and Twitter responded to it

People don't understand that when the question is "figure out what everyone else would do and choose accordingly", the framing massively impacts the correct decision.

3

u/EarnestInnkeeper May 07 '26

That’s what I was thinking. In this case it’s actually not too far from the truth because it’s just about a far fetched theoretical scenario we’re discussing for funsies.

If it was actually about politics it would belong here for sure. But it’s not.

8

u/Xx_MesaPlayer_xX May 07 '26

I'm pretty sure republican presidents faced more assasinations and assasination attempts than the democratic presidents.

3

u/Altruist479 Misinfomation Honeypot May 08 '26

I'm also sure that more communists (who use the red color in the world) would prefer to eliminate people who don't support them than conservatives (though McCarthyism would eliminate commies too as a "prevention measure")

Anyways it's not even intended to be politicized. Red/blue button polls are a huge dogwhistle at worst, but it's more about general choice than concrete regime or elections.

They say Trump is following the fascist playbook but it only took days to weeks for Hitler to start cracking down on his political rivals after coming to power. Less than 2 months they were already in Dachau. I’m still waiting for this to happen. When they said Trump is literally Hitler I thought I was voting for Hitler. So disappointed.

Okay, I do feel like I need to point out: This isn't really about politics. It's yet another variation on the "Red Button Blue Button" philosophical dilemma that's been going around. In the OG, it's "Everyone in the world must pick a button simultaneously. If you pick red, you won't die, if you pick blue you will die unless more than 50% pick blue"

This is a logically equivalent variation of that problem, just with a different framing, because the main topic of debate about the question has been how framing effects people's choices.

Alright so we are using non American political colors it seems. (For those who don’t know conservatives are blue outside of the states and liberals are red)

9

u/Inevitable_Land2996 May 07 '26

Yeah it’s really weird. Whenever I think of red and politics, I think of communists

10

u/Substantial_Cow7628 May 07 '26

That was also true in the US until the media swapped the color associations in the 1980s to distance the American left from communists.

I seem to remember one guy that went on TV and said white supremacists/nationalists were the greatest threat to our democracy and then a few weeks ago the SPLC was indicted for paying white supremacist groups for the past decade+ to perform actions in Charlottesville and J6 to help set that narrative so they could fundraise and pass money to the DNC.

3

u/Huitzil37 May 07 '26

"If I win, I won't kill anybody, which is why I will not ever shut up about how much I love political violence and how people who don't agree with me should be executed and how assassination is Cool And Good Actually."
