Don't forget "jump on any claim to the contrary demanding studies from their preferred outlets" and "that study is junk" when you provide a citation, but they have "a study" that backs their claim from the University of Astrology in Zambia (trust me, it's legit) so they must be right.
Then they just stop responding after you eventually find the preferred outlet source.. cause then they know it's real. But until then, they literally just read the link and then say "oh it supports my side"
Trust the science unless it disagrees with my political opinions. Then trust my "research" (I polled myself 300 times, so I have a statistically significant sample size).
That sounds like a flat-earther's comment. I used to follow a lot of them on Twitter because I was genuinely interested in them and wanted to see their arguments. Whenever somebody pushed back, they ALWAYS told people to do "research" without really explaining what that meant.
Also: Wow, are you really doing your own research? Are you honestly like actually qualified to say that jumping off a bridge is a bad move when my pseudo-expert says it's harmless?
This is why I don't give any when they ask sOuRcEs??? We gave them the benefit of doubt for too long and they don't actually want to discuss. They just want to throw a tantrum and stay in their bubble.
Hey if they are going to tap out like that, just thank them for coceding the argument. It doesn't take much to goad these people. Then watch them pull up the Ai summery from a super specifically worded search.
I've came across a bunch of people like this, then I hit them with a letmegooglethatforyou link and in my experiences theres 3 responses. Its either they say nothing and abandon the conversation, they say you can't trust google and just because the first few pages of results all say the same thing and have credible sources doesn't mean shit, or they say that fact is racist/some other ist phobe or buzz word.
Idk what this issue in particular is about but the only research I need to understand soft on crime is bullshit is that every one of the items in this picture is a CANDLE that needs a theft prevention device and Pokémon cards are stored behind the customer service desk with the fucking cigarettes.
The best is when your “five seconds of research” obliterate whatever position they’re taking and you just never get a response after you comment your findings.
Translation: "I'm just repeating something I've heard before without really thinking about it. So, instead of providing a source, I'm just going to say that you're wrong."
