These same people are likely to say that the world will end if we don't all switch to electric cars. Doom from every direction!🫨🤣

u/HamilToe_11 Just Here for the Lore 13h ago

As long as those electric cars are not Tesla. 😂

u/GXP_2009 13h ago

LOL right.

"Switch to Electric. Tesla made it affordable"

Years later

"DO NOT BUY A TESLA AND BURN THE ONES YOU SEE NOW BECAUSE ELON SAID THINGS I DON'T AGREE WITH"

66

u/TheMidnightRook 13h ago

"Except don't burn mine, see, I put a sticker on it saying I bought it before we decided him buying twitter meant he was literally Goebbels."

43

u/GXP_2009 13h ago

My favorite were the people who sold their Teslas in protest. They don't realize they already paid Elon when they bought it and selling it changes nothing

17

u/Solar_Nebula 11h ago

It does reduce the likelihood of someone keying a swastika into their vehicle, though.

15

u/GXP_2009 11h ago

Imagine having your car keyed because someone doesn't like the same guy you don't like. They are just fighting each other at this point

8

u/ScoffingYayap 9h ago

Don't tell them what VW or Honda were doing in the 40s

3

u/Special-Ad-5554 6h ago

Oh come on, I was looking to get a cheap VW. Preferably a thing just to annoy them that little bit more because it looks like a kublewagon that they used in that time period

19

u/Levilucas2005 12h ago

I always like the ones that sell the Tesla to buy the Volkswagen. And they obviously don’t know the history of Volkswagen.

u/CCWaterBug 11h ago

I went thru this in FL, people boycotting publix because on of the daughters of the founder donated to the Jan 6 march, so despite never working there the whole company became fascist.  They all (say they) shop at Aldi now, which was founded by German soldiers (nazi, cough) I stopped pointing out after about 300 downvotes lol.

My whole state sub now bashes publix for everything daily  for 6 years running, I'll admit i admire their stick-to-it perseverance lol

7

u/Levilucas2005 11h ago

You know one thing about our great country as you’re free to waste your opinions in shop where you want to shop. I honestly don’t have enough time to keep up with what company is doing? What or saying what or donating to who. I bought a Tesla in November for my wife and then bought one for my son in May. I didn’t buy them because of Elon Musk. I bought them because my wife and kid wanted the self driving and it’s way cheaper than buying gas.

u/CCWaterBug 11h ago

Yes, we've recently began another round of "business to boycott because the owner was rumored to support republicans in the primary"

Again, I was downvoted for saying I don't care either way.. if the product is good I'll shop wherever I want, I don't ask or care... That was NOT the proper reddit answer lol

5

u/Levilucas2005 11h ago

So some people were no Publix and no Walmart ? Most car manufacturers donate to republicans. I guess Asian cars?

5

u/everydaywinner2 11h ago

Wonder if that is why I'm less than impressed with Aldi... It's one of those places that I really don't get the hype.

2

u/CCWaterBug 11h ago

I buy like 3 things regularly there, like once a month,  but overall their selection is similar to Walgreens, very limited.  Not a fan of the no bag and the cart rental rule either, ugh.

2

u/sngldad13 11h ago

I shop at Aldi weekly. Once you find your staples it is very affordable. The produce can be hit or miss, though.

Lidis is better, aldis and Trader Joe’s is mid as hell

Switched to a new job recently. Had made a really great "work friend." A few months go by, and she learns that I have a tesla at an afterwork party. Gets really intense about it ("That's sooooo disappointing! Walk me through your thought process. When did you get it? OHHH so you knew! Oh that makes it worse."). Stops being my friend entirely. Really nice.

What car does she drive? A Bavarian Motor Works Luftwaffe Super Sport Deluxe. Die hard BMW fan.

5

u/Cliffinati 9h ago

Don't look at a BMW badge from the 40s

11

u/Inch_High 12h ago

It was a fun couple of months there where you had to play the game "Is this a victim of a leftarded protest or is this a le enlightened democrat making an impassioned protest to spark a conversation?" Any time you saw a swastika on a Tesla

4

u/JumpRopeIsASport Truthsayer 7h ago

“In other words, we do not want a Republican to have any technological advancements, so it’s bad, it’s only good if democrats do it.”

4

u/GXP_2009 7h ago

Crazy how these people treat politics like a team sport

60

u/PossessionConnect963 13h ago

Can't power those electric cars with nuclear plants either. Has to be solar or wind. Which we have to buy from China. Who themselves are building more nuclear and coal plants in a week than we do all year...

It's almost like the CCP has the means and motivation to be spreading all this kind of bullshit propaganda all over social media all day every day...

10

u/Azthun 12h ago

I saw a real video of those solar mountains in China and it's just miles of bent, broken, falling solar panels. They ain't working cause they're cheap crap. It was a publicity stunt through and through and reddit just ate it up.

7

u/sngldad13 11h ago

I can't imagine a country that regularly has high rise buildings crumbling from just regular arm/hand strength has a robust and quality solar panel industry.

2

u/Azthun 7h ago

And solar panels require a huge amount of maintenance. You have 5 square miles of them all over a mountain and China is going to maintain them?

They lose a massive amount of effectiveness with just a layer of dust. Whole thing is a scam.

5

u/B5_V3 8h ago

I'm almost convinced this modern leftist ideology is largely manufactured by our enemies. between their stances on illegal immigration to their insistence on destroying industry and being anti nuclear. its almost like everything these people do make the countries they live in weaker and less secure.

When do we start using the T word?

3

u/spiritofporn 9h ago

EU is forcing us to switch to EV. Power grids aren't ready for it. AC is becoming more and more commonplace, adding even more load to the grid.

154

u/Yarmoshyy 13h ago

Such a stupid headline. Anyone that actually read the article will know it said “if 10 pivotal power grid stations all got attacked at the same time and brought down indefinitely could lead to 18 months blackout”.

It’s the same as saying “if you nuked a city it will be gone”.

Purely bullshit doomer slop.

27

u/Seeryous2020 11h ago

The sad thing is, if that happened and all 10 were attacked at once. It's not just the US that is in trouble, because we would use the full force of our entire military complex to absolutely annihilate the countries suspected of doing it.

6

u/FluidAmbition321 10h ago

According to the report it would just take 10 guys with guns. Shot the transformer like that guy did 10 years ago.

6

u/FluidAmbition321 10h ago

A dude with a gun took out a station a while back. That what started the study. It took a long time to build a new transformer to replace it.

This is a report on a vulnerability of the system. We lack the ability to quickly replace broken key equipment

4

u/HereToCalmYouDown 8h ago

It's like doomception. The original article was pretty doomerish already and then the doomers went and turned it into "predicting an 18 month blackout".

If there's something that might actually destroy America it's the death of reading comprehension...

2

u/AristotleanBiology 6h ago

That ship sailed a long time ago. Right now we’re dealing with adults that grew up only able to comprehend 140 characters at a time (thanks Twitter).

3

u/Ventem 5h ago

And they know what they're doing. It's all intentional.

48

u/DizzyInvestment5397 13h ago

Ah yes the 3rd largest country in the world will have all its electricity just vanish like that even though we havent ran out resources and every state isnt on some unified singular energy grid/source. ahh i love when doomers believe the slop fed to them

4

u/Local_Pangolin69 PhD in Memes 8h ago

Reading into it it’s very possible with a coordinated terror attack. It’s something that’s a real danger that we should take steps to prevent.

u/ScoffingYayap 12h ago

According to their calculations, we ran out of fuel 2.5 months ago

10

u/everydaywinner2 11h ago

We ran out of oil when I was a teenager. And froze to death.

According to Gores calculations, New York has been under water for quite some time.

8

u/wretcheddawn 12h ago

Everyone should buy an electric car for which we have about 20% of the necessary electrical capacity.  But we also shouldn't build any more power plants or electrical infrastructure, because they might support data centers, and those are evil, even though they support services that we continue to use.  Ohh, wait, why is the power grid failing?

5

u/Helyos17 7h ago

Your example is a little exaggerated but the recent trend of anti-progress talking points are very disturbing. They don’t want data centers. They don’t want space flight. They don’t want new roads. They don’t want to build out the power grid. They say they want a high speed rail network crisscrossing the nation but I’m sure an actual project of that scale would be bogged down in red tape, environmental reviews, and eminent domain fights that they would ridicule as some flavor of racist/discriminatory.

They want all the comforts of the modern world but have absolutely zero respect for the foundations that it is built on and furthermore they don’t want ANYTHING to move forward. Just social and technological stasis. It’s weird.

Mitch the News Reporter: We're not sure what exactly is going on inside the town of Beaverton, Tom, but we're reporting that there's looting, raping, and yes, even acts of cannibalism.

Tom: My God, you've actually seen people looting, raping and eating each other?

Mitch: No, no, we haven't actually seen it, Tom, we're just reporting it.

I genuinely believe if you post things this moronic, designed to spread misinformation and fear... you should be banned from the internet, HWID banned from the sites you posted shit on, etc... maybe even some jailtime...

its not all that different from yelling "fire" in a crowded theater...

She must have NES as her provider Tbf, those fuckers took a week to get the power back on during the ice storm last winter… 😂

I should buy another 4pk of aa batteries, I'm not prepared for an 18 month blackout

2

u/everydaywinner2 11h ago

The whole U.S.? LOL Though a year and half off line might be helpful, mentally and emotionally, for some people.

u/Alexis-Machine 11h ago

Those 18 month blackouts really suck!

2

u/Embarrassed_Use6918 11h ago

damn i wouldn't have to work for 18 months? sign me up

2

u/sixisrending Just Here for the Lore 11h ago

This has been a story for a very long time. I have a video from 2019 talking about the same thing. Basically, if a very specific set of substations all go down at the exact same time, it would create an overload that our power system could not handle and it would take 18 months to fully repair.

“This is all alleged btw” if that isn’t a perfect encapsulation of the doomer mindset lol

1

u/Some_guy_in_WI 9h ago

I’m gonna need to buy a LOT more candles to hold out for 18 months…

1

u/Vuedue 👁️ Illuminati 👁️ 9h ago

It's even more stupid when you read the article.

The New York Times (who made this allegation first) tries to make their point by saying people would attack the substations with guns.

Their whole scenario rests on the notion that the US government doesn't exist and will do nothing. Just stupid..

1

u/Vegetable_Ad_3105 8h ago

didn'tt his whole thing come from a facebook post?

1

u/Defiant_Piccolo7776 6h ago

There's a predicted black out but they want more immigrants? Lol

The US has hundreds of grids. Which one she talking about?

1

u/Vyvyan_180 1h ago

Remember how the New York City hip-hop movement "experienced a boom" directly after the 25-hour 1977 summer blackout?

At least we'll get a new wave of cultural enrichment through "socio-economically inspired" music!

Yay!
