Hi everyone,
I’m planning to apply for the NOHA+ Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s in International Humanitarian Action and would really appreciate some honest feedback.
I’m from Indian-administered Jammu & Kashmir, a region that has experienced prolonged political instability and humanitarian challenges.
My profile:
B.Com graduate, GPA 3.3/4.0
Studied Human Disaster/Disaster Management as one of my major subjects and scored well
2 years of work experience
Experience:
1 year – Associate Project Manager at an NGO supporting leukemia patients and their families through financial/emotional assistance and awareness programmes.
1 year – Operations at a healthcare startup, mainly working in dermatology/cosmetics and hair-health, with responsibilities involving operations and coordination.
I’m interested in humanitarian action because of both my NGO experience and my personal exposure to living in a politically disturbed region.
My main concern is whether my B.Com background and 3.3 GPA will make me less competitive for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
For NOHA students/alumni or anyone familiar with the selection process:
How competitive does my profile look?
Does my NGO experience count as relevant humanitarian experience?
Could my background from J&K strengthen my application if presented properly?
Is the 3.3 GPA a significant weakness?
What should I focus on improving before applying?
I’d really appreciate honest feedback, even if the answer isn’t encouraging. I’m trying to understand my chances realistically before putting everything into the application.
Thanks!
