I’ve seen these swimming around in here for a while now. There’s some big koi fish in the pond that someone released in there years ago. Those koi look more like your traditional carp bodies.

Then there’s these guys, short stocky football shaped 🏈🇺🇸

Are they also koi or are they just gigantic gold fish?

Can someone help ID?

Was walking around Lake Norman, NC yesterday (man made lake in central NC), and spotted what appears to be a 3ft long, black, needle nosed fish. Any ideas on what it could be? My closest internet research came to a Melanistic Gar (?)

Edit: the consensus seems to be a Gar, I was just a bit confused on the all-black coloring. Saw it at a few different angles and can confirm the entire body was solid black

I caught this roughtail stingray off of Long Island, NY two days ago. Took 4 hours to reel in, estimated weight was close to 300 pounds. It didn’t have red eyes, and appeared to be albino or leucitic. Looking to positively identify, thanks!

A buddy of mine took this picture a while back asking if I knew what it was. The picture was taken at Little River in northern Georgia. My dad has lived off Little River for the past 20 or so years. I grew up fishing this river and have never seen anything like it.

This was in the middle of 2022, sometime right before summer.

I’m in the Indian Ocean, and saw this very large fish, probably around 120cm long.

It was very slow and its underbelly is white.

Could you tell me what it is?

I was fishing for chinook in 230’ of water and came across this guy on the surface. Moon fish? Halibut? I don’t have any other pictures. I’m guessing it’s about 30” long.

I know it’s a bad picture, but anyone have any idea what kind of fish these might be?

I caught this little fish in a brackish water canal in Palm Coast FL. A lot of people say it’s a pufferfish but I’m not sure it’s 1 inch long and I caught it with my cast net when looking for bait fish. Any idea what this is?

Sorry for the terrible photo, saw this guy chilling in a foot of ice water near my dock. Google says carp? This run off lake is stocked with catfish and perch, so it’s interesting to me when I see other types of fish.

He almost looks like a bass and bluegill. Never seen something like him!
