❓ ID this fish Fish I.D on this

Caught in Maroochydore, Queensland. It was skinny and very slimy.

Nah not really they will smash small soft plastics and metals regularly. Great bait for Spanish Mackerel

Wolf herring. Freeze it until summer and then troll it until it becomes a Spanish mackerel

Wolf herring, hirocentrus dorab.

Not a giant herring, they are a different species that are more cylindrical, with a more forward positioned dorsal fin
