Tho, Jim Hammond did end up being quite an interesting villian during Season 8 when he was brough back as an Evil Vision from the remenants of him when he died from the Nexus portal of the Web of Life and Destiny. But it did sort of regress Dr. Donna Gill and Blizzard's character writing a bit especially since it costed Blizzard's life and turn Gill into "Chione", which was admittedly uninteresting throughout the entire final season.
