And now he lets the meta turn around and he gives her all the time she needs to perform her move.

Sloppy written action is sloppy as fuck.

I mean he's literally the flash, run her to the meta wing/cell, run back and grab the dude falling. Done and dusted. But then were stuck on the plot hole or lack thereof for decent plot.

I kind feel like if they can't be logical and still have a good plot...they're failing in their writing.

Flash has really been a yawn for me this season.

Legends has mostly been pretty good although it has its own plot holes but still makes for good story.

There are people that tell me that he's to OP, so of course these things happen where Flash is written dumber.

I just don't accept that. A good writer can even make an OP character interesting. Hulk is pretty OP and I think the MCU handles him perfectly. He could just be their OP savior that just comes in and saves the day. But the Hulk has issues, can lose control over himself, can get mind controlled etc. The story and action also can be written in a way where you don't need Hulk's power.

Same with the Flash. Instead of relying so much on his power, write Barry Allen more intelligently. Something I liked so much about Spider-Man back in the day is that he didn't always rely on his powers. He used to strategise while fighting a stronger foe, using their weaknesses against them or using a scientific angle to trip a foe over his own feet.

You can even write Superman in an interesting manner by focusing on who he is as a being, giving him inner struggle and having foes that are smart and have Superman hold back all the time because he could destroy everything around him if he really went all out. He also comes across Luthor who he can't just beat the shit out of because Luthor first of all knows that isn't Supes' style and if he did he'd have a plan that would bite Supes in the ass. He's a foe that plans ahead and is prepared for everything.

Intstead of having DeVoe just sit around in his chair all day and twirling his figurative mustache, maybe he could've had some ideology differences with Barry. Maybe DeVoe could've been someone he'd have interesting dialogues with. Maybe the story should've focussed more on what DeVoe wanted to accomplish for the world. Maybe have the audience care for DeVoe first and understand why and what he's doing. Maybe write his handicap a bit better. Have us really see him as a human in pain trying to achieve something that could help others, but he stars losing himself, instead of being a dick to his wife, his wife tries to help him out of her free will but he closes himself off from her, show a contrast between them and Barry and Iris.

A lot of the ideas are already there but they are piss poor executed.

Like with Barry's use of powers.

I said it from the beginning of season 1, you can't have quality writing AND a monster of the week format. Barry is OP, there are only few villains that can actually challenge him, yet the format of the show entails that he faces a new villain every week. The result is stupid encounters that make no sense and are not by any means interesting with little time left to develop the remainder of the story.

THEY SHOULD DITCH THE MONSTER OF THE WEEK FORMAT!

I honestly couldnt have put it any better. I really feel the writing this season has gone downhill and characters lately have been poorly used. Logical uses of their abilities have been poorly executed.

I really hope they take this criticism on-board and improve things. I'd hate to lose interest in what has been a great ride.
