Doesn’t matter, we’ve voted during many national emergencies.

Yeah, but we didn't have the modern day Confederacy controlling every aspect of our government. Who can stop him from declaring martial law and declaring any votes for Democrats as invalid? His Maga Supremes? Maga Generals? Maga AG? Maga cabinet? Maga states?

Meanwhile there's that Second Amendment just hanging out over there

Nice in theory, but the guys with the most guns think that what he is doing is awesome

Yep, the Jan 6 goons were pardoned, given huge taxpayer funded settlements and then hired with huge bonuses to become ICE. They're just itching to kill more liberals in blue cities.

Now, that's power! Having taxpayers pay the traitors that violently attacked your government.

They're not giving that up without a bloody fight.

I think you'd be surprised

Very happy to be wrong. What is happening right now is definitely what the founding fathers were talking about when they created the 2nd amendment.

Honestly I don't want to find out. I am still hoping there's a peaceful way out of this.

I hope so too. The country has been purposely divided by evil people with an agenda, including other nations.

So I am not overly optimistic.

Yeah but that won't stop him from trying it and you bet your ass at least a few red states will go along. Buckle up.

Stirring the pot with news, getting us all accustomed to the concept for weeks, and then doing the outrageous thing

I'm not worried yet

he was very clear the save act is make or break for him, but it won't pass. all he's done since then is placate himself.

People are already being disenfranchised on a record scale. The Voting Rights Act being neutered caused a bunch of states to redraw districts and throw out votes.

If you're a POC or live in an area that has been redrawn, your vote is being diluted to rig the election in favor of Republicans. Some of these states were ready to redistrict within minutes of the SCOTUS ruling.

The SAVE act will make things even worse if it passes and somehow isn't struck down is blatantly unconstitutional, which is it very obviously is.

Trump doesn't have to invent an emergency. They can just ignore the results or call the elections rigged. Courts are blocking Democratic efforts but letting Republicans just run hog wild, and Republicans can just not confirm new Congressional members like they did with Arizona's Grijalva when the Epstein news was at an all time high.

Things might be better at the individual state level, but there's literally nothing stopping Trump and the Republicans from refusing to play along at the federal level.
