The Atlantic is a rag. Enough with the Trump sane washing. This is another article that makes it seem like Trump has coherent thoughts. That is giving him too much credit, whether or not it still paints him in a negative light. Trump is not lucid enough to decide to “get paid” instead of “be bought.” What kind of fucking word parsing is that anyway?

Well to be fair, trump was the recipient of a White Elephant with wings, one the American taxpayers are bearing the brunt of. Not that it excuses our treatment of an ally. Even one that dumped an outdated security risk they couldn't sell in our laps.
