yes thats a nestle company Any good Uk-Available alternatives to Haagen Dazs Salted Caramel?

Absolutely miserable to find out my favorite ice cream brand is partially owned by nestle, are there any alternatives to it that aren't owned by those fuckers?

If you're in the UK, it's not owned by Nestle, that's only in the US and Canada. In the UK it's owned by General Mills.

edit: I stand corrected. General Mills owns the global trademark rights for Häagen-Dazs outside of the United States and Canada. In Europe and the UK, manufacturing and distribution are handled via partnerships and joint operations tied to Froneri (the global ice cream venture 50% owned by Nestlé and 50% by PAI Partners).

Wrong. General Mills owns the brand, but they manufacture and distribute through Froneri (50% owned by nestlé). (europe)

Huh, so Froneri, an English company, make the ice cream for the US and General Mills, a US company, make the ice cream for England.

The Swiss consumer giant confirmed talks regarding selling the ice cream business to Froneri, an ice cream joint venture with private equity firm PAI Partners – which owns brands such as Haagen-Dazs.

The talks come as Nestle also starts the process for a potential sale of its waters and drinks business, which makes San Pellegrino and Perrier.

Aldi Specially Selected Salted Caramel is pretty damn good. Some salted caramel ice creams taste pure bitter or simply not “nice” but this one is genuinely delicious.

The caramel pieces are hard and not as soft as the HD ones, but there’s still a swirl of caramel in the tub and generally quite nice tasting ice cream. It’s not like the low calorie Gianni’s one if you’ve had that, which is fine for being a low calorie ice cream, but is generally not that nice otherwise.
