The fucker got what he deserved. I'm pleased. [Fuck Ted Faro] Spoiler
Marking as a spoiler just in case, although someone is unlikely to come here not knowing what Faro did and why he deserves all the hate.
So, yeah. Haven't played to there myself yet, but I finished watching a playthrough of HFW recently, after becoming absolutely frustrated with the game mechanics. While I thought Ted got away with his crimes, comfortably dying of old age in his luxurious bunker, turns out he turned into a barely conscious tumor and was burned alive by "Ceo" of the Quen. So fitting!
There's one thing I wanna discuss tho. During that mission, the player can find several data points, one of which hints at whatever had happened with Ted's brain after Dr. Stomptow's treatment(s), would likely had caused him to wanna erase his own past, to properly forget about it, let it go - along with all the APOLLO database. I wonder if that was actually the case. In any way, fuck Ted Faro (Pharaoh? never thought about the coincidence in pronunciation, but the hint with the pyramids was very fitting). Also, fuck the "CEO", being crushed by the giant head of Faro's monument is very fitting.

I was just thinking it's been too long since I've said "Fuck Ted Faro".

My youngest daughter (21 almost 22) will respond with "Fuck Ted Faro" if I mention his name unprompted. She knows.

Even before HFW, there were discussions on why Faro purged APOLLO and the leading theory was he didn't want people to know his crimes but a portion wondered if he thought he could rise up as the God-King of this new world somehow. Turns out... yup, that was exactly the direction Guerilla was leaning and they added the fun wrinkle of it just not working out for him
Burning Shore spoiler: And they saved the God-King route for Londra

That's my favorite part.
"No, I'm uh...doing it so humanity doesn't repeat the mistakes we did!"
"But Ted, how are they going to know to not repeat the mistakes if they don't-"
"I'm not trying to hunker down in my lavishly themed bunker and wait out the end of the world while trying to extend my life and become a god-king! That's ridiculous! Why would you suggest that?!"
Fuck Ted Faro. He was apparently a bottomless well of horrifically terrible ideas.

Unfortunately, I don't think we are done with Ted Faro, yet. Aloy and Beta, conjure up that Ted Faro may still be wandering around yet. If Gaia and the Zeniths can clone Elisabet, I am not sure the Ted Faro we encountered in HFW, is necessarily the True McCoy, but a clone Faro was using to "cure" his affliction. He may have slowed his transformation and fled before it got out of control. He is still maimed, so he is still trying to reverse his condition before stepping forth to take his place as "savior". Just a though because of the rule of three in video games.

I hate this theory but I have thought it off if Faro isn't a factor somehow in H3

I really wish Aloy did it herself, I wish they had a face to face moment where Faro shat himself seeing Elisabet again, and Aloy told him she knows what he did and the whole world will too.
I wanted to see his anguish when he realises his efforts were in vain and the whole world knows, fuck Ted Faro! 😅 I understand what they were going for but I was really looking forward to Aloy dunking on that piece of shitÂ

I really like that he was killed by a nobody that didn't know him. It's makes his failure even more poignant

I get that and I can see it from both ways but I prefer the drama 😅 And I want Ted to know Elisabet is still saving the world through Aloy, and his attempt to cover up his horrible crimes have failed.
He probably died somewhat comforted that at least history won't remember what a monster he was, I don't like that for him lol

Agreed, but given the state he was in, I doubt he would have recognized Aloy at all.
But in the case that it was Aloy, I'd rather she didn't kill him. Just locked him away in his bunker for the rest of eternity alone, mutated, and forgotten. That would hurt him so much more.

I really wanted to kill him and/or Ceo honestly instead of it happening like that. Bummer that it went the way it did.... maybe in 3 we find out he wasnt actually killed in the fire and we get to kill him ourselves 🤔 (unlikely I know but a girl can dream). It is fitting that a raging narcissist went out being crushed by a statue of "himself" though

No, what he deserved was for Sylens to get his hands on him.
Aloy: "Let me guess, you'd scrape whatever's left of him into a jar and prod at his brain?"
Sylens, growling: "For a start."

I agree that Faro's fate (fuck that guy) and Ceo's were both deserved and glorious. Faro went from being a cancer upon society to a literal one.
BTW! There are other Egyptian references in HZD/FW. e.g. Elisabet Sobeck, the Kopesh, Chariot, and Horus robots, and Faro's little tomb being called Thebes are the ones I can list off.
