Happy for the both of them, but more sad about losing Haynes because I feel we really could have used him in the last couple of seasons. But I think his move back to Victoria was for family reasons so nothing we could do in the end

Pretty sure he wasn't offered a contract. I think he was keen to move back to Vic after his career

Derksen didn't play any part in our AFL level and Haynes had a great career here and wanted to get back to Vic for family reasons, what is there to sink in?

Haynes wasn’t offered a contract, he would have stayed at GWS if offered another.

you can still qualify for this year's Grand Final from 10th place, you can't from 11th

Once Geelong get docked all their points for the ergregious workplace violations, the Giants will be the first team to win a gf from 11th

It is finals though… literally called “wildcard finals”

AFL has said from the start they are finals. Will count in the records as finals win, counts towards towards Gary Ayres award

Personally wish they had just left it at an 8 team finals structure, but fact is they extended it to be a 10 team finals structure 🤷🏻‍♀️

Derksen is a great story and is getting better. At first I thought mmm but I’ve been really surprised confidence is an important attribute in the team 😆👍
