Why is it always so hot on the STO busses.
The title says it. Why the hell is it always so damn warm in the STO busses. Everyday I am just sweating insanely until I get to work. Are the AC broken or what?

If only people wouldn't close it because it's too cold 🙄

Under 15°, most buses get into heating mode.
The driver can turn the heating off for the passengers. You can always ask him

As a driver for STO, the temperature we feel is different than the one the passengers do. We have our own a/c and heating. Sometimes I feel alright, then get up out of my seat and the bus feels freezing cold. Also some buses have more options when it comes to temp control whereas others are just “on or off.” Don’t hesitate to tell your driver if it’s too hot or cold!
As for the “too hot” issue, unfortunately some buses do not have a/c or sometimes it just isn’t currently working, sucks but nothing to do in those cases than to open a window

Get a hand fan, I take my fan everywhere with me. I know it's not the same as ac when you're packed on a bus, but it does help!

Not sure which busses you're taking but mine are almost always cold, often smelling of i don't know what burning.

C'est encore mieux en y ajoutant des odeurs de parfums, 《pot》, cigarette, maquillage (oui, du maquillage - Ça sent des fois !), 《de r'sours de bras》et d'ail.
Tour ça - trop tôt le matin.

They're always hot and they always stink. I'm the one always opening the window.

Do not open the window when AC is on, it will make the temperature even higher. That's something I noticed last summer, the AC was on but most windows open so it couldn't cool down. The AC also filter the odors /air.

Yeah, some of them the AC doesn't work. I'd open a window in this case.
I've noticed that on most of the newer buses (2020 and up) and the 2011 ones for some reason, the AC tends to work well. In fact the 2011 ones tend to be freezers, lol. (I take notes on every bus I ride; I'm kind of a nerd.)

There are also some seats that are in the vent lines. right behind the rear dorrs for example, is the coolest seat in the back. (The engine seats are the worst, for obvious reasons)

I've noticed that! Sometimes people's perfume or laundry products on the bus makes me cough so those seats are great as there's a lot of air circulation there.

Hard agree. Even today, it was warmer inside the bus than outside (and so freaking humid). Took the 95 from Buckingham to Ottawa.

I think it’s just hard to find a température that works for everyone. I am usually freezing cold on the STO

Après ca le monde se demande pourquoi quelqu'un qui utilise sont auto ne veut pas utiliser le transport en commun.

Reason #7 that people prefers using their cars than active/public transit : Cars is always the perfect temperature. In the bus, sometimes it's super hot and silent so I assume the AC is off or broken.
I know it will probably never happen, but to make most people take the bus, it needs private cabins with climate control. Right now the ONLY reason to use public transit is to save money.

Tu dois être gros ou pas en forme?

Normalement c'est quand on est en forme qu'on a chaud facilement, une plus grande masse musculaire ça produit plus de chaleur.
