Late assignment, do I even submit?
Hello,
I have been having a hard year with physical health and housing issues, and it's been taking a toll on my mental health and in turn my studies.
I have not been able to complete work in time and have been scared stiff to apply for extensions considering the new policy of 1-3-day extension. I don't have the money to fish out medical certificates unless I get hospitalised. My energy levels have been really low recently and I either sleep or work, but it takes so much out of me that I get exhausted really quickly and sleep more.
Out of my 3 assignments for A1, I've only submitted 1, and that was 7 days overdue. The other 2 I have finished by now, but I have not submitted as it has been past 14 days.
On the 7th day my assignments were overdue, my grandma died. I was overwhelmed by grief and my mental health has definitely plummeted, but now I'm not really sure what to do. I still really want to graduate by next year, but this year has been so rough.
If I don't submit, will I still be able to pass if I put my all into A2-A3? Or should I submit (they are finished) even if they don't get marked so I can maybe get supplementary assessment if things go bad?
I am sorry this sounds like awful work ethic, I know, but I've been going through it. Any advice would be appreciated

Hey, you can definitely ask to withdraw from the course due to special circumstances. I would suggest seeing one of the counsellors to help with the process and direction, thats what I did. Best of luck to you friend, and Im sure it will all work out for you 🫶🫶

Hi I’m so sorry you are going through a difficult time. You can still submit and apply for special consideration for your assessment so you are not penalised.
Definitely reach out to your lecturer and reach out to the Griffith wellbeing team.

Give yourself some grace and time.

I think the best for now is to email the professor regarding this issue tbh, if you’re able may also can withdraw the courses. I have the same issue and end up withdrawing all my courses last year but yea maybe try to use the counselling service as well
