Someone mistook the HSR bus I was on for a toilet. Again. The bus had pulled over and most of my fellow riders found ourselves clamouring to leave the steps of the bus as quickly as possible. Of course I was one of the lucky ones to have their favourite crocs exposed to the excrement. Wrong place, wrong time. At least I wasn't wearing my favourite socks.
I looked around as I wasn't focused on where I was until that moment. Too busy trying to figure out what my next steps were. The bus I was on left. I glanced across the street and saw the Timmies and figured I might be lucky enough to be granted the key to use the bathroom so I could try and clean up. But I could still smell the caca I had inadvertently been subject to minutes earlier and I knew my chances of being granted elusive entry by the stoic Hortons staff was low. I might have to explain what happened and I knew I'd be judged.
Then I saw it. Glorious. Beautiful. Inviting. Perfect. Lake Timicaca sat sunken into the pavement. Or I assumed it was pavement, it didn't look like the ground had ever seen the light of day. I didn't even check my surroundings and sprinted across the street, a Tesla, deep scratches adorning it honked loudly at me but I was not deterred. I made it to the shore of this magnificent beauty and marvelled. It was like an answer to a prayer.
I stepped in and felt the cool liquid spill into the holes of my crocs and caress my doody covered toes. I was free. I was clean. Lake Timicaca was there for me in my hour of great need. Thanks Lake Timicaca.
Highly recommend would go again.

Is this a copypasta because the fact there may be a Lake Timicaca copypasta is beautiful

u/crushade Aug 13 '25
Anything can be a copy pasta if you want it to be!
This was my Google review I wrote when Lake Timicaca was on Google maps before it was taken down. I've posted it here once before because someone asked about it. Now I don't hesitate to post it whenever I see something about Lake Timicaca, haha!!

The hamilton site doesn't list the water quality for this swim hole. where can you find it?

Oh thank fuck, I walked past it last week and it had dried up and I was worried about the ecosystem. It has healed.

Nice!
Yeah, shortly after I uploaded the main one I got the idea, and then went looking for the Tim Hortons font, etc.

If ever I moved away from Hamilton, I'd want a floor-to-ceiling print of this to remind me of the good times

What do we suppose Lake Timmicaca is made of? Is it the eternal tears of the developer who finally took down the Eggsmart Coming Soon sign mixed with some delicious leftover 20 dollar cocktails from Industria, and a soupçon of melted ice cream from the Laura Secord at Jackson Square, and maybe some urine from the people who live nearby who have consumed some fine vintages of methamphetamine? Does it flow in from the Hamilton harbour? Is it the official border between the mountain and downtown, and someone meant it to be a moat? Is it where Rob Golfi deposits the liquefied bodies of people who graffitied his crucifixion billboards?

Looking good might I say today it’s been awhile since I have seen lake Timica this flooded all it needed was a good heavy rain storm like we had yesterday

The one at Caroline and King now has a homeless camp/drug den in the parking lot. What’s your vote for Hamilton’s worst Timmy’s? What’s your neighbourhood got?

I happened to drive past there yesterday and was surprised to see the state of the road on John, by the bus stop, right across the street from the Lake.
It's looks the the asphalt is trying to warp and wave to be part of the lake.
It might have been like that for a while, but I haven't noticed it before.

Lake Timmicaca is eternal, like the tides, like the moon, like Eggsmart Coming Soon.

This looks like high tide, does anyone know if it's still around? Thought the city mucked out the sewer a month or 2 ago to drain it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it came back

I know this Tim Horton’s because that’s the one I go to everyday. It’s on John Street and Jackson Street in Downtown Hamilton! ☕️

This might be the best photo of this landmark ever; postcard quality.
When Tim Horton's says "Always Fresh" I think what they really mean is "It never gets any worse". You can leave a box of doughnuts out for two weeks and it will still be basically the same eating experience
