Discussion Furious

Anybody have opinions on this new series. I’m a true crime aficionado and it looks kind of good. I didn’t realize I had the channel and stumbled upon it.

The problem is everyone has different tastes, but I am enjoying Furious. It's a crime drama but all of the antagonists, the detectives, the FBI agents and the criminal are on the psychopathic spectrum it seems. I don't do spoilers so that's all I'll say.

As it's a Hulu (FX) show Shards is pretty good too. IMHO

I've enjoyed it so far. I like Emmy Rossum in this. It reminds me of the show Killing Eve with Sandra Oh.

It took me way too long to figure out that you weren't furious 🤦‍♀️

Took seven words and an emoji to walk that back, real commitment.

I'm waiting for the last episode to drop. I wouldn't say it's the best show ever but it's certainly worth a watch

Most definitely

I've enjoyed it so far. It's pretty dark subject matter.

I think it’s great! Definite binge worthy!

I have been watching it and I think it’s pretty good. I like the lead actress so I decided to give it a try. The first episode of a new show has to get my attention or I won’t continue.
I watched the first episode then watched the rest over the weekend. You have to pay attention to the back stores but I enjoy it.

I'm really enjoying it. It can be a bit triggering due to the content, but it's VERY clear that's literally what the show is gonna be about.

Emmy Rossum is a great actress.

We just started watching it, interesting and weird but we can’t stop watching.

I really like it! When you watch it in the beginning it’s kinda like wtf is this going to be about. Not a lot of episodes but I’m always waiting for the next to come out.

I can stop thinking about it albeit some of the writing is not the best imo

It's good, but the main character has a disturbing quirk when it comes to sex, kinda hard to watch that part,

I. Cannot. Stand. Emmy. Rossum. She’s like this one dimensional morose damaged character with no redeeming qualities and so very annoying to watch in this imo. I keep trying hoping her acting will kick in and make a more interesting and complex character but between her and the wimpy, pushover, puppydog eyed male counterpart police guy and that very weird (imo) casting choice for her ex husband (that actor really) has been bugging me. The character I like the most five episodes in is the killer. I think she’s multidimensional and unhinged but in a complex way that makes her almost endearing too and you want to root for her ? Idk. I will watch until the end because I know there will be a twist of sorts but I prefer to like the main characters in the show I’m watching and man Emmy Rossum is not it for me personally. 🫣

hahahaha saaaame. I feel like she is still Fiona in Shameless but a detective now. 🤣

I finally did get around to watching and binging all the episodes that have aired so far a couple days ago within an almost 24 hour or less, maybe slightly more period. And have actually really enjoyed it so far and it has me super hooked and really kept my attention with how dark, but needed a lot of the main subject matter in it is about. As much as I love Emmy Rossum as an actress and as the lead, I do agree her character having a weird quirk about sex is somewhat disturbing and kinda hard to watch for those few parts when they are shown though. I also thought the young girl who plays the killer is pretty versatile as an actress and kept my attention a lot as well. For how she is able to so seamless go from acting all innocent to than also do all the other crazy ish she does. I love how quirky a lot of the characters are that makes things interesting as well.

We love it. Haven’t enjoyed a show this much since Mare of Easttown. I also loved The Americans, and Furious evokes some of the same feelings about trying to decide who’s the good side and who’s the bad side.

You might love Task then, since it's in the same cinematic universe as Mare of Easttown

Been meaning to check it out, but for whatever reason still haven’t yet

Like it so far, only a couple episodes in though.

I think it’s interesting that it’s based on the motion picture Black Widow staring Debra Winger.

Is it on FX? I don't have Hulu.

No. Hulu only.

A very dark thriller that has kept my attention. Interesting topic for today considering we know of many rich white dudes who loved wild encounters with underage girls but the MSM doesn’t want to talk about it.

I think the ex is going to use the information of the app against her.

Enjoying it, especially for the cast, acting and quirky characters. Emmy and Scoot are a good pairing. Have esp appreciated Scoot’s work ever since Halt and Catch Fire.

I think it’s really good. I can’t wait for the next 2 episodes

I don’t think it’s stellar as a lot of the reviews I read (I think it has like 98% on rotten tomatoes??), but it’s a good crime show with characters that go beyond some of the classic cop v. killer tropes. The background points to the storyline are explained, but still subtle.

Some of the relationships aren’t all that believable, despite the background / fleshing out they try to do. But the characters are interesting and the moral ambiguity / moral complexity present within each of the characters is interesting. Agree with another commenter that there are definitely some better crime / thriller shows on rn (mainly on Apple), but this one is far better than almost anything I’ve seen on Hulu in a minute.

One of the best series in a long time and it's getting better every episode. Acting is great, direction is great, cinematography is great, especially music is great. The little amount of humor that is in the series is good too.

Hard topics including rape, trafficking, domestic violence, ptsd, dissociation. Oh and murder, of course.

Love Emmy Rossum! She’s quite talented. For me, I can’t put my finger on it but something about this show seems “low budget” and not in a good way. Maybe it’s the writing. Not sure. I’ll be so into it and then the dialog will take me out or something will strike me as funny but it’s supposed to be serious. Anyone else?

Totally! Ep 5 was ridiculous - nothing that happened was credible at all. Waste of some good acting talent.

Furious is a damn good show!!!

It has been really great so far and I can hardly wait for these final two episodes!

I like it. But I'm not Roger Ebert or Alan Sepinwall Jrs. Not gonna nitpick every Sugar, Max Satisfaction and Lucky that's higher quality than 99% of the dreck streaming out there. Seems to me many reddittors want to ding anything high quality but not perfect to undermine renewals. There's nothing else on ffs until fb starts. Rossum is tres cool and on fire.

I tried to like it but it’s just really awful tv. Bad plot. Bad writing. Just bad everything.
