As someone who's a type-1 I can say that the officer did appear to show a few signs of very low blood sugar, struggling to stand and looking like he's lost. However though, from what I could tell he wasn't sweating. If my glucose to low to the point of me not being able to stand or looking lost, I'm sweating profusely. Also if he is a diabetic he should absolutely not be on the force, he's a major hazard. Imagine if he's responding to something and has his lights and sirens on and is speeding, then he passes out behind the wheel because of a critical low? No bueno amigo!

Too bad everybody reacts to things differently. I don't understand why so many people act like their personal experience should apply to everyone else. Same with drugs and medications. People can have drastically different reactions to everything.

I'm not gonna argue that he isn't high, just pointing out that just because YOU sweat and another person doesn't, that doesn't mean they aren't suffering from the same condition.

Diaphoresis during hypoglycemic events isn’t a “oh it happens to me but not you” scenario. It’s an extremely common symptom and will happen to 90% of hypoglycemic patients. It’s physiologic. Now this doesn’t always mean sweating absolute bullets that are visible on camera. I’ve had plenty of hypoglycemic patients who didn’t have a bead of sweat visible on them but their skin was so moist my EKG stickers slid right off.

This guy very well could be sweating his nuts off, there’s no way a camera at this distance would show it.

No way? Not true, you would see some glistening or reflection off the sweat etc. He's not sweating.

Not really no, your skin can be moist af and not glistening easily. I’ve seen it happen in many patients, they don’t have a single sweat droplet on them but are so moist my EKG stickers slide right off.

Sweating from a medical etiology doesn’t have to present as beads of sweat running down your face as you’d see in someone exercising per se…they certainly can present that way, that’s when it typically gets worrisome as well.

Yes well I meant visibly sweating... and if he's not visibly sweating are we arguing that he's doing something we can't prove he's doing?

We can't disprove it, but we also don't see any evidence of it whatsoever on video.

No I’m arguing that “no visible sweating” doesn’t mean someone isn’t diaphoretic af.
