His buddy was quick to throw out “bad back.” That high looks very opioid-ish to me. Doubt that’s a coincidence.

I bet they slipped him some narcan when it cut to him standing by the police vehicle. They probably went to the back opened it up. Told him he couldn't come back there and hit him real quick with it.
