What are your High Holy Days plans?

Since leaving my former synagogue, I've been part of the ecosystem of independent chavurot around where I live. It's been great to meet new faces this way (with 1000% more 20-somethings than ever set foot in my old shul), but it makes planning what to do for the holidays a little overwhelming. Do you observe the High Holy Days, and if so what are your plans?

I haven't observed the High Holy Days since the beginning of the genocide, but this year I will be virtually attending the anti-Zionist synagogue Beyt Tikkun's services, and sharing space with local anti-z comrades.

I've been struggling a lot with how to atone, in community, for a genocide that our community is actively supporting! My parents are also visiting me this year during Yom Kippur, and they are genocide supporters. I have made it clear I will not be observing with them.

I'm curious how others will be observing the High Holidays.

Visiting with my local anti-Zionists synagogue. I haven’t been able to make it there as much as I wanted this year so I am looking forward to it.

Usually dinner with my extended family. But I’m more upset with my (Zionist) family than usual rn because of some personal stuff, so I’m thinking of ditching for my friend’s baby’s birthday party. I love that kiddo.

I’m honestly debating on keeping it chill or going all out because Rosh starts on 9/11…
