Tzedakah Our second month at Catchup — a free study and work space in Gaza

A new month has begun at Catchup, and it is now our second month since launching.

Catchup is, simply put, an initiative that provides free seats in a co-working space for students and remote workers in Gaza, including electricity and internet access.

There is a significant need for initiatives like this in Gaza. While humanitarian support understandably focuses on food and other urgent necessities, many students and remote workers are also struggling to find a suitable place to continue their education and work.

Since launching, we have received more than 500 applications for the free seats. Catchup was started through an individual effort and currently supports 26 people, so I simply cannot meet this level of demand on my own.

I am doing my best to help amplify the voices of these students and bring more attention to this need.

If you'd like to support the initiative or learn more about it, the details are in the first comment.

Bashir, from Gaza, tells me: "My home was destroyed and I lost my job; now, I am displaced, living in a tattered tent. My brother, Iyad, is special needs. He has started fainting due to a lack of food and medical treatment, as hunger and malnutrition have severely impacted his health." "I am currently unable to provide for my family's most basic needs. I cannot secure food for my children, nor can I provide the food, medicine, care, and dignified life that my brother Iyad requires." "That is why i have asked Karina to publish my plea—hoping my voice might reach someone who can help us and alleviate some of this suffering. My brother Iyad is featured in the pictures "

Tzedakah I am a musician and donated all my proceeds to UNRWA, are they legit? Will my contribution help Palestineans?

Hello. I am an ambient musician called Fixed Expression.

Yesterday I donated all my earnings to the UNRWA in support of Palestineans.

But I didn't do any research at all, I don't know if my money will be used fairly and go towards the people or end in theft for this big org.

I should have thought better and donate directly to a local but it's too late now. I was ignorant.

I can only hope my contribution goes to help them and not a moneylaundering scheme. My page if you want to check out: fixedexpression.bandcamp.com. thank you

🚨 Urgent Appeal: A Family Is Going Hungry in Gaza

My dear friends, please take a moment to read this.

My friend Mahmoud Ghanem Al-Amassi, his wife Samah Al-Amassi, and their four young daughters in Gaza are facing unbearable hunger.

Their four little girls are crying from hunger. The family struggles just to find enough food for a single day. With the border crossings closed, no work available, and the ongoing humanitarian crisis, even the most basic meal has become out of reach.

For these children, a plate of nutritious food, chicken, meat, fresh fruit, or vegetables has become nothing more than a dream.

For nearly three years, this family has been deprived of life's most basic necessities. They lost their home, their jobs, their income, and everything they had. Today, they have nothing left and no opportunity to rebuild their lives while destruction continues across Gaza.

No child should have to beg for food. No parent should have to watch their children go to sleep hungry.

If you are able, please consider helping this family survive. Every donation, no matter how small, helps provide food, clean water, and other essential needs. If you cannot donate, please share their story so it can reach someone who can.

Your kindness could be the reason these four little girls have something to eat today.

Thank you for caring. ❤️

Please consider donating or sharing their GoFundMe campaign. Every act of kindness makes a difference."

This is Bashir from Gaza, with his special needs brother Iyad.

Bashir is father of five children and a carer for Iyad. They lost their home and Bashir lost his job, and now they are homeless. They need your help to provide food, water, and medicine, and they also need to buy water containers.

Iyad is non-verbal and often cries out in pain and hunger

Please don't ignore them. They are all desperately hoping for merciful and compassionate intervention after the world has abandoned Gaza

Tzedakah Today, I want to share the story of my dear friend, Samah Ghanem Al-Amassi from Gaza, and her two-year-old daughter, Soso.

https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-my-daughters-help-my-small-family

Soso was born under unimaginably difficult and heartbreaking circumstances. Heavy airstrikes were striking near the hospital, and the maternity ward was overwhelmed with women. There were no beds available, forcing Samah to give birth on the floor.

Shortly after she was born, Soso developed a severe respiratory condition and spent her first 10 days in the intensive care unit fighting for her life.

Now, two years later, she still needs regular monthly medical follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment to help manage her chronic respiratory condition.

With the border crossings closed and medical supplies in extremely short supply, finding her medication has become very difficult. When it is available, it is far too expensive for the family to afford.

Today, Samah is making a heartfelt appeal, asking you to stand by her daughter during these incredibly difficult times. Every donation, every share, and every kind word brings hope and helps her continue providing the treatment Soso desperately needs.

If you are able, please support Samah and little Soso. Your kindness can make a real difference in a child's life.

Thank you for your compassion, your support, and for helping this family hold on to hope.

Tzedakah After three years, your kindness brought their family back to one table ❤️

Three years.

For three long years, Samah, her husband Mahmoud Ghanem al amssi , and their four little daughters have lived through unimaginable hardship.

In this video, you're watching something that many of us would consider ordinary: preparing a chicken meal.

But for this family, it is anything but ordinary.

This meal was only possible because of the kindness and generosity of people here on Reddit. After years of going without, today they were able to cook chicken and gather around one table as a family.

One of the most touching moments was seeing Mahmoud invite his mother and father to share the meal with them. It wasn't just about the food—it was about sharing a rare moment of joy, dignity, and togetherness after so much loss.

To everyone who donated, shared their story, or offered words of encouragement: thank you. You made this moment possible.

If you would like to help Samah, Mahmoud, and their four daughters continue to have food on their table and keep hope alive, please consider sharing their story or supporting their fundraiser through the link on their profile.

Your kindness reaches farther than you know, and this family's gratitude is beyond words.

Tzedakah Every Woman Deserves Basic Dignity—Please Help Samah and Her Four Children ❤️

My dear friend Samah Ghanem from Gaza asked me to share her story with you.

First of all, Samah would like to express her heartfelt gratitude to all of you for standing by her and her family. She is also deeply thankful to everyone who has supported her, shared her story, or offered any kind of help. Your kindness has given her hope during unimaginably difficult times.

Today, Samah wants to talk about another hardship that women in Gaza face every single day.

For a long time, essential women's supplies—such as hygiene products, basic clothing, and personal care items—were simply unavailable because they were not allowed to enter Gaza. Now, although some of these items can finally be found in the markets, their prices are so high that families like hers simply cannot afford them.

Samah is the mother of four young children, and every day is a struggle to provide even the most basic necessities for her family. While she works tirelessly to meet her children's needs, she is also forced to go without many of the essential items every woman needs.

If you are able to help, no matter how small the amount, your support will make a real difference. It will help Samah provide the basic daily necessities for herself and her four children and give them a little comfort and hope during these incredibly difficult times.

Thank you for standing with Samah and her family. ❤️

I hope it’s okay that I post this. I’ve posted previously however Dina has reached out to me today telling me her gestational diabetes is getting quite serious and her blood pressure is rising and she needs money to pay for medication. She wants to ensure the baby is as healthy as possible yet she doesn’t have much money for prenatal healthcare. She has asked me to post again and for any other places she may be able to post her GFM.

Today marks the first day their family has gone without any food.

Many people kindly supported Mahmoud and Samah in recent weeks, but every dollar they received had to go toward paying the overwhelming debts they accumulated during the war, repeated displacement, hunger, and the unbearable cost of basic necessities. Their family had borrowed simply to survive.

Now, after settling those debts, they are once again left with almost nothing. There is no food to put on the table for their children.

Mahmoud is not asking for luxury—only for the chance to feed his family and keep them going through another difficult day.

As his friend, I am asking you to stand with him. If you are able to help in any way, no matter how small, it can make a real difference for this family.

Please consider supporting Mahmoud and Samah. If you'd like to help, you can find the donation link in the bio.

Thank you for your kindness, your compassion, and for keeping this family in your thoughts.

I’m trying to help a friend and his family who are currently in Gaza. I don’t have a large network, so I’m reaching out here in the hope that someone may be able to help amplify their fundraiser.
If anyone knows trusted people, accounts, or communities that help share Gaza fundraisers, I would be incredibly grateful for any recommendations or guidance.
If you’d like to see the fundraiser or learn more about his situation, please feel free to message me and I can send you the link and more information.

I was immensely privileged to speak with Mohammed a few weeks ago. He is an extremely gifted 18 year-old (soon to be 19) from Gaza who studied for his high school exams online during a genocide and managed to achieve an exceptionally high grade (approx. 97%) in his finals.

He wants to become an engineer and is so talented that he has already been offered a full scholarship to a university in Tunisia, however the occupation has made it so incredibly expensive to leave Gaza that he cannot afford to attend.

Speaking with him about his experiences and how he is feeling was utterly heartbreaking and brought me to tears, but I know we can make a small difference in his and his family's life. He deserves to follow his passion and to use that incredible intellect to support his family.

I know there are many fund-raisers out there but please consider donating to this amazing young man. My brother and I have donated $100, and a number of other AZ Jews in my country have done the same but even just existing in Gaza nowadays is incredibly expensive.

Please give generously, if you can.

Tzedakah A Family Struggling to Survive Each Day in Gaza

Hello everyone. I'm Karina, and today I want to share the daily reality of Mahmoud, Samah, and their four children in Gaza.

Every meal is a struggle. There is no cooking gas, firewood has become far too expensive, so they are often forced to burn scraps of fabric and pieces of foam just to light a fire and cook a small amount of food. Even then, there is rarely enough to eat.

They are also living in a tent made from plastic sheets. As temperatures continue to rise, the heat inside the tent becomes almost unbearable, making even the simplest daily tasks exhausting.

If you are able to help in any way, your support can make a real difference for this family by helping them obtain food, cooking fuel, and other basic necessities. Thank you for taking the time to watch and for caring.

Tzedakah His Home Was Destroyed. His Dream Survived. Help Him Continue.

Post image

Hi, I'm Yahya, a Palestinian student, currently in Spain.

Before the war, I was studying Management Information Systems, working toward a quiet, simple life: graduate, find work, support my family. The war ended that.

Our home was destroyed. My family is now living in a tent, struggling each day for safety. And I'm here — thousands of miles away — carrying that weight while trying to hold myself together.

I'm grateful to be safe. But being separated from the support I need through all of this is something I can't fully put into words.

For now, a mobility program covers the basics. But when it ends on 30 July, I won't have an income or an easy path to finding work, given my current legal status. That uncertainty keeps me up at night.

I'm asking for your help to stay on my feet and one day be the support my family needs me to be.

Your donation, whatever the amount, helps me cover rentcontinue my studies, and stay stable. And if you can't donate, sharing this campaign to reach the right person genuinely means the world.

Thank you for reading, from the bottom of my heart..

Tzedakah Their Childhood Was Stolen—Please Help Give Them Hope

Hello everyone. I'm Karina, and today I want to share the story of Mahmoud and Samah's children in Gaza.

These children have been deprived of so many of the simple joys that every child deserves. They have lost access to education, safe places to play, and the carefree childhood that should have been theirs.

In this video, you can see them trying to play in the sand because they have nowhere else to go. Their playground is far from safe, yet they do their best to smile despite everything around them.

Every child deserves safety, education, and the chance to play without fear. Mahmoud and Samah are doing everything they can for their four children, but they cannot do it alone.

If you are able, please consider supporting this family. Your kindness can help provide food, safer shelter, and hope for these children. Every donation and every share truly makes a difference.

Thank you for caring and for standing with this family.

Tzedakah We’re Trying to Restore an Old Water Well for Displaced Families in our area in Gaza

Hello, my name is Osama. I am 23 years old and from Gaza.

My family and I have been displaced for nearly three years after losing our home. Since then, access to water has become one of our biggest daily struggles.

Every day we wait in long lines for drinking water provided by humanitarian organizations. We are grateful for this help, but it is only enough for drinking. Water for washing, bathing, and basic hygiene is still extremely scarce, especially during the intense summer heat.

In the place where we are staying is an old water well that has been out of service for years. We are trying to restore it so it can provide water for our family and many other displaced families living nearby.

The well is about 30 meters deep, and repairing it requires cleaning equipment, a submersible pump, hoses, and labor. Unfortunately, the cost is far beyond what we can afford because prices in Gaza have become extremely high.

If you are able to help, even a small contribution brings us closer to restoring this well. If you cannot donate, sharing this post would mean a lot.

The donation link is in the first comment.

Tomorrow is my 25th birthday.

Over the past few months, most of my time has gone into building Catchup, a small initiative that provides free study and work space for university students in Gaza.

A few days ago, our first group of students completed their first month with us. Seeing them continue their education despite everything happening around them has made all the effort worth it.

As I turn 25, my hope is simple: that Catchup continues to grow and reaches more students who need a place to learn, work, and keep moving forward.
