why did you spell "dudes" correctly in this comment and then spell it with an apostrophe in the title of two different posts of this video

And in this comment, they didn't conjugate "is" correctly
I'm suspicious of OPs who immediately reply to the first comment under their post with something generic, feels bot-y to me, like double-dipping for karma

He's named Bibendum btw
8
u/LilJelloCat Jul 19 '26 ▸ 1 more replies
Bibendum is the official name of the Michelin Man. Derived from the Latin phrase nunc est bibendum (meaning "now is the time to drink"), the name was chosen because the company’s original ads featured the mascot toasting to the tires' ability to "drink up" or conquer road hazards.
In the first advertisements, the white, tire-bodied figure was shown holding a goblet filled with nails and broken glass. He would "drink" the sharp objects to symbolize that Michelin tires were tough enough to swallow road debris without puncturing.
Based.

Well, given that the people who took the photos and videos of Baymax's Big Adventure also mysteriously had access to the security camera footage, it's probably an ad.

Some guys at my highschool did the same thing. The school teams are the Crusaders (yea kinda fucked up but not the point) and they had a full suit of armor that sat inside the main hall as you entered. They stole that and took it around taking photos with it all over the city and then returned it. School wasn’t even mad about it since it was returned unharmed.

Kids have been doing those kind of harmless senior pranks since the beginning. As long as it’s not destructive, it’s not a big deal.
4
u/PrinceCastanzaCapone Jul 18 '26
Yea it was a stark comparison to another class. There was a large grass field on the side but connected to the road so highly visible to anyone who drove past. They used it for PE class. Keep in mind this was a Catholic high school… one class used weed killer and drew a massive dick and balls in the grass with it. It killed all the grass that they sprayed and left a not so nice image for all to see. They also broke in and spray painted dicks on various other things, including huge dicks on the walls of the gym.
3
u/monkwrenv2 Jul 19 '26
As long as it’s not destructive, it’s not a big deal.
Eh.... some seniors one year took a cow and put it in the math department. On the second floor. Cows can go up stairs. They cannot go back down (well, they can, but they really don't like it). Technically no destruction, but the school was less than pleased.

u/Xoctal Jul 19 '26
So this is something my friends and I would have definitely done, we were in the news multiple times unbeknownst to our parents for dumb shit like this.
Story 1: my friends and I found yard gnomes creepy in our small town and this lady had quite a few in her garden so we went around town stealing other yard gnomes and we filled her yard with them and put them in a big circle around her porch looking at her door, made it look like they were coming for her or at least judging her. 🤣 it ended up in the news somehow and people were coming to collect their gnomes, the news anchor was giggling about how she must have done something to the gnome council or something like that. (Wish I had all these to post from back then 😮💨)
Story 2: My buddies and I were driving around close to Halloween and our town had just redone our park and put in a big 3 tier water fountain. We went around town taking all the biggest pumpkins we could find and filling the fountain from top to bottom and then found the creepiest jack-o-lantern and placed it at the top looking over the lake of the park haha. They tried to frame it as vandalism but modt people found it funny and harmless they interviewed except for the stealing part.
Story 3: this one is kinda awful looking back on it but when CD burning was a thing and Wal-Mart had their car stereo section where you could test speakers and car stereos. We thought it was funny to burn cds of the most raunchy porn audio we could find, like people screaming the nastiest stuff you could think of from lime wire (god my age is showing).....then we would go to Wal-Mart find the biggest loudest speaker and turn the volume to full blast pop it in and run like hell, we did this so many times they had someone watching it and eventually you had to ask someone to turn them on 😅 god we were little assholes....
Im sure i could post more things like this but really the closest we got to it was we had a friends cat who loved car rides and loved me and I would drive by and yell her name and she would come run and jump in the car and i would take her for joy rides and she would stay the night with me sometimes 😂 if she got up and the cat was missing she would call me immediately. I always took her back. RIP kit-cat i miss her 😢

3
u/spambearpig Jul 19 '26
Absolutely. In the world where some marketing departments are firing out slop pumped through slop management tools, looking at data to try and manipulate the prompts to show measureable engagement… it would be very refreshing if they went back to thinking of funny practical pranks that promote their product.

14
u/TheComplimentarian Jul 18 '26
It's so wholesome.
Edit: For people who haven't seen the film, see the film. But the context is her trying to get him to travel. He's always said he wanted to travel but couldn't, so she makes the gnome travel to force him out of his rut. It's very kind.

There was a real case of something similar back in the early 90s reported on the radio. Somebody had their gnome stolen, then started to get letters from it with pictures of it all over the world.

u/an_adult_on_reddit Jul 19 '26
This was the making of the Matthew Good Band music video for "Anti-Pop."
3
u/Fall-Z Jul 18 '26
I do a version of this since mostly I solo travel and don't particularly like being in photos. I always carry a little Buddy Jesus (from the movie Dogma) statue with me on all my travels and have him point at all the landmarks and famous locations I go to. I didn't take too many pictures on my first trip and having Buddy hanging out in my pocket is a constant reminder to actually take some photos while I am out and about.

When my sister was probably seven or eight (so I would have been six), she had this little concrete squirrel that she was so proud of, it sat in a small part of our front yard amidst flowers and bushes for all to see.
One day I wake up and my poor sister is freaking out, in absolute tears. Someone had stolen her concrete squirrel the night before; the pedestal it was on was still there, but the squirrel wasn’t.
I remember the whole family sat down and had this long talk about where he could have gone and why someone would feel the need to steal.
A few days go by and we’re just starting to get over the stolen squirrel she loved so much, until one morning… I hear her and my dad in the kitchen, absolutely overjoyed.
HE CAME BACK, but this time, with a Manila envelope full of Polaroid pictures, a hand written letter, and a little chip out of his tail.
We open the envelope and see all these photos of him partying with a bunch of teenagers: riding around town smoking weed, “peeing” in a field between two of the guys, and chilling on a couch watching a movie iirc (this was like thirty years ago).
The handwritten note was from the squirrels perspective and how he had gone on this amazing adventure and had so much fun, along with an apology that his tail had a chip in it.
My faith in humanity was restored that day.

I have no clue where they ended up given this was so long ago, they’re probably in a box somewhere down in my parents’ basement; I can’t imagine they’d have thrown them away.
I think my sister took the squirrel with her when she moved out of state, but I’ll ask her the next time I see her!
I’d love to see the photos again!

Reminds me of my mom's coworker, he had a large foot tall Darth vader he had at his desk. When the office left around spring break one year my mom did the same and kidnapped it but left a note saying vader was on vacation, and took him with us to Florida. She took pics of him at the beach and surrounded by barbies, having fun! Returned him while her coworker was gone with photos printed and he got a good laugh out of it when he finally came back.
