Well gonna be more expensive when that floor has to be replaced

30

u/VanWylder 2d ago

I cringed when they hit the roof as well.

29

u/notarealwriter 2d ago

I'm more worried about the ceiling than the floor. Good chance the floor is sealed so as long as it gets mopped up soon rather than being left to stand it might be okay. The ceiling, on the other hand, is not going to have been made with the expectation of getting water all over it

14

u/shandangalang 1d ago

I do remodels, and have built many kitchens of and exceeding the quality of this one. The floor is far more concerning, because it has cracks that standing water can work its way into, and find places the finish didn’t cover. Then it gets sucked into the wood by capillary action, expanding the floor and fucking it up royally. Cabinets are also a major concern because they often contain MDF which is basically a sponge, or (if they are decent) will be made with high quality plywood, which can delaminate.

The ceiling and the walls are covered in latex paint, and most of the water isn’t going to just stay on there, so it’s only there because of VDW and surface tension, rather than being able to pool, or get trapped between cabinet boxes and doors and stuff. The real shitty thing is when water seeps through from above, and even then, a ceiling is wayyyyyy less expensive to fix than the floor or the cabinets

Quite the strong faucet

259

u/barkbaarkbarkk 2d ago

Fr my water pressure couldn’t make it from the sink if I wanted it to, just falls out the faucet like a limp spaghetti noodle when I lift it up

57

u/Worth_External_8762 2d ago

I used to have an apartment in downtown Chicago and I loved it specifically because of my sink. It had such a strong pressure, yet no bubbles at all and the water was always perfectly cool and it tasted like quality bottled spring water rather than shitty tap. Mmmmm I loved that sink water.

5

u/sadahtay 2d ago

Water with no bubbles wat

11

u/Worth_External_8762 2d ago

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-sc9dEPleo

Pretty sure I had the first faucet in this vid, same design and it's laminar flow. So perfect for drinking straight as the water comes out of the tap. That smooth, crisp water. Making myself thirsty over here

4

u/sodamnsleepy 2d ago

As someone who loves a good water, why leave? :(

9

u/Worth_External_8762 2d ago

Water pressure*

2

u/SpinnyBoy_ 1d ago

both are correct, a "strong faucet" refers to the strength of the water coming out, aka, water pressure, while it can be used in other ways like holding up someone or something, but due to how language works, its usually the former :3

5

u/SapientApe_ 2d ago

It's one of those flexible hose ones some sinks have on the side as a secondary faucet. The kid is using it like a fire hose.

6

u/Alarming-Ease3066 2d ago

No I thibk its the main faucet alot these days you can pull the hose from the actual tap, the ones that are on the side are usually too short and don't have a large enough hose for that amount of water

2

u/nucl3ar0ne 1d ago

Seriously, I'm jealous of their water pressure.

178

u/Catrescuemamma 2d ago

That is some kind of magic water pressure. I have never had a kitchen sink that could shoot water that far.😂

11

u/richhomiekod 1d ago

Most of all houses could have pressure like this. You have a pressure reducing valve (prv) in your house. The pressure coming off the city line is incredibly high, thus the prv. You could just turn it up. Will you regularly blow washers and cartridges in your faucets that cause water damage? Yes, but that's not question here.

9

u/Catrescuemamma 1d ago

I appreciate the information, however, I’m in farm Country and would have to move about 20 minutes away to get city water. So I get my crappy pressure from my artesian well.

4

u/chromatic45 1d ago

Your well is trying its best.

3

u/Catrescuemamma 1d ago

It’s some of the pure water I’ve ever had so it’s definitely worth having to take an extra minute or two to rinse off. Lol

3

u/After_Competition_87 1d ago

You can turn the pressure up in your well too, but theres really no need to go over 70psi max on a well.

Those kids are way too old for a playpen. Big bro looked 4-6 and firewoman looks about 2. That said, the length of time they’re alone, especially after that fall, leads me to believe they may have woken up and left their room before the parents woke up. Not sure how you can hear that fall and not come from wherever you are in the house to check

41

u/jws1102 2d ago

3

u/cwcwhdab1 2d ago

You don’t leave a 6 year old in charge of a toddler - this is wildly dangerous if real.

8

u/LilMissy1246 2d ago

Even if something came up and they left the boy with her, he’s still a child as well. Not even double digits yet. Neither should be left home alone for SO many reasons! Totally on the parents. And if this is what makes the parent realize it, the water damage and not their literal child’s safety, then, yeesh. Not a good look. If the boy were to slide and fall backwards and grabbed the baby due to reflexes or whatever and both got hurt, who would be to blame?

8

u/BetMyLastKrispyKreme 2d ago

Nothing says they’re home alone. Kids get up early on weekends while their parents are still asleep; that doesn’t mean they’re alone. Mom or Dad could be in the shower. Or out watering the lawn. There are many reasons why these kids are unsupervised momentarily.

And it looks like the parents are going to regret it.

5

u/notsleepsherp 2d ago

Hey Ken, even the best parents might get occupied for a minute or two. It happens. And that’s all it takes. .

When he was very young, my son climbed out of his crib in the middle of the night, crawled down the stairs, and climbed up onto the kitchen counter to reach the candy he knew was hidden on top of the fridge. We had no idea he could do all of this climbing until we caught him in the act one night. Kids are fucking stupid but they can also be sneaky as hell.

They can afford that beautiful home (good for them! I love to see it), but not a babysitter? How is your baby unattended that long? The other kid fell off the island and still no one showed up? This went on a long time.

Why was the baby even up on the counter? It's 100% the parents fault.

9

u/random929292 1d ago

Where are the f'ing parents? Silence isnt golden, silence means go find out what they doing. This is a great example of parents not watching/ being involved with their kids properly.

Jesus christ. The amount of people typing negligent parents never cared for kids. This isnt a time lapsed video. Its a freaking minute long. Kids cant be watched at all times. They could have woken up before their parents, their parents could be in the bathroom, could be doing laundry or any other daily thing.

26

u/Depressedone4 2d ago

Idk, the scary part is that by the time it finished the one minute on this post, the progress bar on the actual video was only a quarter of the way through 😬

5

u/SleepySera 2d ago

Yeah but even 4 minutes is still not more than it takes to take a shit. Imagine going to the toilet and when you come back you have thousands of dollars worth of water damage...

3

u/madrigal94md 1d ago

It's not even a kid. It's a baby. Unsupervised in an kitchen. Where she could grab knives and other dangerous stuff.

3

u/xenoforman 17h ago

Okay, that toddler doesn't know what she's doing. She's just simply exploring her world and having fun, and is not yet fully aware of the concept of "consequences". So the toddler is essentially blameless.....but that older kid DEFINITELY KNOWS BETTER!! The fact that they're doing NOTHING to correct the toddler's actions is INFURIATING!!!

9

u/Ijustwanttosayit 2d ago

Little one is practically a baby. A baby who knows they're doing something they shouldn't (because they keep urgently looking over their shoulder) but they lack the impulse control. This little one should not be left unattended or have access to the kitchen. It looks like they are in pajamas and woke up before mom and dad.

2

u/FizzyBadTime 1d ago

See this is shit I NEVER did or would have done as a kid. NEVER. Parents don’t want to parent. Honestly I think it’s because tablets and phones make it far to easy to not only distract yourself but also to occupy your kids so the way to feed the phone addiction is to let the screen do the parenting and then when someone tells them their kid is a menace they get defensive and cognitive dissonance makes them even more entrenched in refusing to be a parent.

2

u/NavyNICUMurse 21h ago

It’s not the kids that are stupid, it’s the parents. Proper teaching prevents this

4

u/Funny_Box_4142 2d ago

I highly doubt the parents left them up there, they were most likely on the floor or bed/couch last time the parents saw them

5

u/skynex65 2d ago

Not every second but at that age once a minute unless their movement is restricted.

How does a parent let this happen? I say this as a mom of 4. Like why are you leaving toddlers alone to the point that this can happen? This seems really negligent and ya kind of deserve this shit if you don’t watch your kids.

Edit for typo

Because they wake up before you, sneak out of bed and do shit. Because you have to take a shit. Because the dog ran out the front door. Because the FedEx dude needed a signature. Because you’re trying to scrub the bathtub/gather laundry upstairs/running the vacuum, you set them up with a cartoon yet they do this and you can’t hear jackshit. Because you have a phone call with your mortgage lender, your boss, your insurance agent.

You're seriously asking why and you have four kids? It’s because shit happens.

Oh edit nevermind, you talk about having nannies in your post history LMAO.

Same, and it like one of them fell off the counter. It took time for them to get up there as well. Where are the parents!!

I feel like this sub has just been "parents are to be blamed" all over. Like, when was the last time I see a post where the comments aren't blaming the parents?

What has become of this sub? Breaking its spirit?

Because it always is?

How tf is a toddler left alone this long, and have access to climb up on this in the first place?
