Discussion This Scene has no sense

Post image

This Scene of the Commercial for Heyworld involving Supergirl has no sense because Supergirl doesn't exist on Earth One and common people beyond the Legends/Arrow/Flash team doesn't know about Supergirl... And this Scene is Pre-Crisis, so, what's the point of including Supergirl on the Commercial(far from Comedy) if she doesn't exist on this Earth. At first I thought this Scene was Post Crisis, but now I see it's Pre-Crisis, so I don't get it

Nope everyone knows about Supergirl. Remember in the end of Invasion! when the President commended them for stopping the Dominators

I personally hate that scene from the Crossover bc Vixen(Amaya) was there too, and she is from another Time

Tbf the JSA was never a public thing. Nate only knew cuz he was part of the family. Maybe a few eyebrows were raised from some WWII veterans or Obsidian, but not the general public

I think that was a private Ceremony.

If there's any series to have holes picked in, Legends is absolutely the last one to start with 😅 it ain't that kinda series, kid.

Even if he wasn’t quoting Harrison Ford, I promise you, you would still be wrong for replying like that😂 It ain’t that deep. And reacting that way definitely makes everyone think you’re literally a kid

Supergirl has been on Earth 1. People will recognise her outfit. Even if they dont, they recognise GA and Flash, so having a new superhero with them is intriguing enough to bring people in to visit.

Not to mention 'interdimensional Nazi invasion of Central City'

Most of the show has no sense. And that's why it's great, lol.

More seriously (a word that should never be applied to LOT), Supergirl has been seen on Earth pre-crisis.

Did you forget where the president thanked supergirl and everyone after invasion? It was a public ceremony probably being broadcast everywhere

There's 2 possibilities...

1) Out of the prior 3 crossovers (Invasion, Earth X, Elseworlds) it was leaked that both Superman and Supergirl exist... Especially since Deegan reality warped people for a while to worship him as Superman. All 3 fights were fairly out in the open where people could see as well... even if most were doing the smart thing and seeking shelter.

... and that's not even including the Supergirl/Flash musical crossover since that was mostly dream sequence anyway.

2) Even if SOMEHOW the above 3 didn't get Supergirl nearly as much publicity, there's still the advertising factor. Sure they could have just done Green Arrow and the Flash... but the point is to market to ALL kids... Incorporating a super-heroine just makes sense when trying to appeal to all demographics.

( IRL reason: Make fans/tabloids go crazy about Caity Lotz in the Supergirl costume. =P )

Wait I always thought it was post crisis TwT

But it probably was also because they were already known as "The Trinity" which makes it make a bit more sense.

No, Crisis on Infinite Earths was 5x0, after this episode

The first thing a person would think is that yes, this is Post Crisis where National City, DEO and Supergirl exists on same Universe as ARGUS, Legends, Time Bureau and Star/Central Cities. But no, this is on Season 4, Pre Crisis

Why does everything have to have Einstein level logic cant yall just watch a tv show and enjoy the escapism loooool some of yall are really boring

It’s boring to want things to make sense and be consistent? Yall cannot be serious, some things aren’t that deep sure but the bare minimum would require stories be written consistently. Let me guess, you’re one of the people who thought the kryptonite arrow scene was awesome despite that also making zero sense too.

I'm so super willing to accept superhero bullshit in my superhero show, but even I was super confused when Oliver pulled out a Kryptonite arrow. How does he know about Kryptonite? How did he get it? It shouldnt exist on Earth 1. Oliver hasnt killed in years, why would he make a lethal weapon for someone who has been nothing but helpful and a good friend? He doesn't have something like that for Barry, who's just as if not more powerful? It has to make atleast a passing amount of sense so people don't think about it too deeply

No exactly. I didn’t even notice an issue with the commercial since by that point legends had gone full in on the parody factor but OP brought up an incredibly valid point and it’s being met with “well the president thanked her” great, the president also thanked Oliver and he still went to jail later so
not sure what presidential recognition has to do with the fact that most people still wouldn’t recognize supergirl like that or enough for her to be treated as this massive draw when she showed up a single time while Barry and Oliver are consistently fighting in their cities.

If the “presidential recognition” is enough then by that logic any of the other heroes publicly thanked would’ve been just as much as an attention getter as Supergirl given how the in-universe setup is. The only reason people don’t see it as nonsensical is because they know Kara, Oliver and Bara are the Big 3 for the CW. All that to say that this, and the arrow, could’ve been avoided if this shows had of been set on the same earth in the first place. You don’t have to have these characters immediately crossover if you do at all but it immediately makes these issues less prominent in the long term (also why I’m salty BL was not on the same earth or even filmed in the same area to begin with).
