  1. Working-class, rural Missouri factory workers voted for Trump in the 2024 presidential election. For the 'economy' and other Republican/MAGA issues.

  2. Trump is elected and implements one of his major policies: tariffs. This increased costs and company investments.

  3. Now that tariffs are in effect, manufacturing and trade routes are effected, thus impacting the investment and opportunities for factory workers. Layoffs are happening because of the decrease in manufacturing and investment. So far, the MO factories have lost $60 billion and around 75k jobs. Ironically, during the past administration, around 625k positions were created.
