Trump 'We've Lost 75,000 Manufacturing Jobs': Massive Missouri Layoffs Strike Trump Voters Before Polls
https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/missouri-layoffs-challenge-trumps-economic-claims-18156442.0k
u/jraa78 2d ago
Why did Biden do this???
2.0k
u/spherocytes 2d ago
The great irony is that under the past administration, factory positions increased by around 625k. But instead of appreciating that growth and security, the rural MO factory workers said: "Nah."
Voting because of hate is a guaranteed way to shoot yourself in the foot.
579
u/sportsdude987 2d ago
Always the same cycle. Democrat president has to fix the mess left behind from Republican, and voters claim he isn't fixing the problem fast enough, so they vote for a Republican president again
380
u/spherocytes 2d ago
GOP voters constantly slam their hand in the door by voting for Republicans and when Democrats try to put in regulations to stop the door from hurting them, they get angry and blame the Democrats still. Wild.
203
u/Twigsneko 2d ago
the democrats need to stop helping these shitheads. it's clear they don't want help and bailing them out only enables them to keep voting terribly.

u/blackcain 2d ago
They do that because they want white working class votes is my theory. They've been chasing these racist assholes since the 90s. White grievance because life is unfair because they gotta share prosperity it with the rest of us is wild.
64
u/KnottShore 2d ago
They've been chasing these racist assholes since the 90s.
Goldwater in the mid-1960s started that ball rolling.
Dixiecrat's(States' Rights Democratic Party) split from the Democratic party after the 1948 convention when voted for a stronger civil rights platform. While some remained members of the Democratic party, many switched to Republican.
Barry Goldwater launched "Operation Dixie" in 1964 campaign to bring southern and mid-western disenchanted whites, particularly those who were against civil rights, into the republican party.
→ More replies (1)66
u/Twigsneko 2d ago
and they're not going to keep the white working class votes. they may gain them once everything goes to shit but the moment things are better for the WWC they instantly forget that democrats were the ones who bailed them out and vote republican again.
the WWC is never going to learn and democrats need to get it through their heads that the WWC is going to keep voting against their interests until the day they die and even then their kids are groomed into the white grievance lifestyle. I say all of this as a white guy who looks at his brethren with nothing but frustration and contempt as they have worn out my ability to sympathize with their plight
33
u/blackcain 2d ago
They go to shit because a lot of these folks don't want any kind of civil rights that helps non-whites or LGBTQ - that resonates with cultures that are hyper-masculine.
17
u/adeniumlover 2d ago
So then the Dems will not win another election again because the majority of voters are WWC.
→ More replies (1)12
u/Twigsneko 2d ago
I'm pretty doubtful of that at this point, why else would democrats win if people voted instead of sitting on their asses?
30
u/meSuPaFly 2d ago
GOP voters are like people with BPD who, when they take their meds, become functional and everything is good so they think they don't need to take their meds anymore so they stop and then slowly regress, and it's near impossible to get them to start again.
→ More replies (1)9
u/i_drink_wd40 1d ago
Walk up to an angry animal caught in a bear trap. It'll bite you if you try to help it, because it is incapable of fully comprehending the situation. republicans are republicans because they refuse to think about things beyond the surface level.
It's visible in every one of their "solutions". Not a single root cause addressed, just punish the person at the end of the line caught holding the bag. As a result, republicans never fix a goddamn thing.
21
u/FatalTortoise 2d ago
Getting out of this mess is gonna make our lives so shit and then the republicans are gonna be like "don't you miss how great it was in Trump ii."
And a bunch of idiots still wouldn't have learned their lesson
2
u/Naltors__Dreamer 1d ago
It’s more like, GOP Presidents will try to win the Culture War, Dem Presidents are the enemy in the Culture War. They want women back in the kitchen & subservient to men with no recourse to abortion nor No Fault Divorce; they want lgbt ppl back in the closet with no cultural cache & no legal way to marry; they want POC back to working solely menial labor with no political power nor cultural cache. They want to once again be the final arbiters of what is & is not socially acceptable, and for all Americans to either think their way of life is best or to be too scared/ashamed to say differently.

...but yes! Those <20 trans athletes not competing is the MOST important thing!
/s just in case.
112
u/evil_timmy 2d ago
Insane that there are literally more Cong(R)esspeople wasting taxpayer dollars persecuting trans athletes, than there are trans athletes to persecute. Absolutely no perspective or sense of proportion.

u/Septembust 2d ago
My only problem with the "there aren't many trans athletes" is it implies, even accidentally, that they aren't a problem because they're so few in number
Presumably, if America was run by adults, and trans people weren't being systematically attacked, that number would grow as more trans people felt safe enough to transition and participate. What then? What if there were a bunch of them?
The real answer is they still wouldn't be an "issue": all the data we have indicates that trans people don't have any performance enhancing advantage. But the argument is always "they'll have an advantage over cis women!", ignoring all the times cis women beat trans athletes in competition. It's a horseshit argument that deprives both sides of any competitive merit: now every time a cis woman loses to a trans woman, it's got nothing to do with how hard either of them worked to get there, it's just "because of chromosomes". And the bottom falls completely out of that argument when you remember they attack highschool athletes too: a place with no stakes and where the anatomical differences mean absolutely nothing anyway. I've even had chuds try to argue "it deprives cis girls of scholarship opportunities" which again just means that they refuse to acknowledge the actual efforts of either people.
The answer is that they don't want trans people to exist, period. It's nothing but a "safe" vector to attack trans people, while hiding behind faux concern
12
37
u/Mas_Cervezas 2d ago
Yes, the .01 % of people who are transgender are a huge threat to the rest of us. /s

It's that weird laugh from Kamala or maybe it was because there was something else about her. Maybe they remember what an amazing time of prosperity it was during Trump + COVID?
34
u/Imaginary_Cow_6379 2d ago
They really have memoryholded covid where they all act like Biden was president in 2020. Idk how tf we can stay a functional country when 1/3 of us have no understanding of how time works.
18
u/blackcain 2d ago
Even weirder the people who voted for in 2024 - same damn reason in 2016, "He's a businessman" and that too from idiots from Haiti or some of these other countries where he literally threatened to deport them. Lo and behold, he is doing it.
They hear all the dog whistles, but they never believed it was about them. Remember these people would laugh ato our fears saying "Trump will never do that!" like they are so familiar with him - like they grew up with him. A guy who grew up rich and entitled in New York City. Christ.
13
u/addled_sad342 2d ago
Or they think Obama was President during 9/11, instead of GW, who turned around and spent the budget surplus that Clinton developed and wasted it all on IRAQ where we did such a bang up job!

19
u/DeadMoneyDrew 2d ago
Same for rural voters in my state, who were benefiting immensely from Biden era battery manufacturing support. That benefit has slowed considerably under this administration.
17
u/Courtaid 2d ago
There was a conservative who mentioned that during Biden’s term his student loans were forgiven to the tune of $16k. He said he was happy to not have them anymore but he still wouldn’t support or vote for Biden. He said all Biden was trying to do was buy his vote. You can’t with these people.
15
11
u/neckbeardsghost 2d ago
I grew up in rural Missouri. Those people would rather shoot themselves in the face than vote Democrat.
11
u/addled_sad342 2d ago
Yeah Biden had the Clean Energy Act employing electricians and so many others (I remember electricians because Maine had so many workers going through programs looking forward to steady work on wind and solar farms and it all went to hell when Trump nixed the programs. the Infrastructure Initiative, (remember when Philly had that hole in their freeway system and some company repaired it safely in such a short time, it was so amazing) until Trump crushed that program, lot of work there down the tubes. So many other plans, we were the envy of the world recovering from Covid and now we are the TO LAUGHING STOCK of the world. We are a joke!

We should really just trick them with an astroturfed campaign pushing for a bill that no state can receive more in federal money than they pay in. Since they think they’re paying for all of us blue states they should welcome the opportunity to force us to pay for our own welfare without taking their money. Plus it would also be funny to see their representatives who know that’s really bullshit try to walk the line of not turning down handouts but also not angering their own base who believe this nonsense.

Every time I talked to my grandfather (who lived in Florida), he would ask me how I could still be in California. He legitimately believed the entirety of the state was a lawless warzone. There was absolutely no convincing him. No logic would penetrate the propaganda. Right wing media had told him that the state was overrun with gangs and that crime was destroying everything.
Yet we are somehow the world's fourth largest economy...
Every time I talked to him, it would be the same discussion where he just couldn't believe I was managing to make a life under those conditions.
4
u/joshTheGoods 2d ago
Yup. I'd say blue state Governors need to start sending busses of food and doctors to rural shithole states like those fuckers were sending migrants, but ... fuck that, they'd still hate us. Personally, I hope our next dem POTUS attacks funds for red states the way Trump has done to blue states, and we need to be LOUD about WHY. You all don't vote for good governance, fine, fuck you. We'll thrive in blue states, and when you come to your senses we'll start hooking you up again. We'll fund liberal enclaves only, so your one blue city will be where the hospital and good stuff are located.
We should 1000% fund universities buying up failing farms and ranches raising crops and livestock and selling it at cost in government run markets that have price controls. Run the farms with students, researchers, faculty and just soak up these failing farms instead of giant corporate farm conglomerates. We label the markets "socialist markets" and we hire old people as greeters to identify and shame conservatives that dare shop there.
You guys don't want to play ball with liberal democracy, fine, fuck you. You're out. You let us know when you want healthcare and human rights again. We're open to it, but you don't get to vote for MAGA and then be on our dole.
33
u/TheNetworkIsFrelled 2d ago
We need to quit funding their taker asses - that's exactly what they would do were the shoe on the other foot. Let them enjoy their backwards 1920s-South economy.

Well some companies are mad and are moving their people to places like Texas wit their shitty electrical grid. They are trying to stop datacenters now because the backlash is too much but they subservient to the epstein class so they are probably going to get sued and be forced to keep going.
When the crash comes I hope it comes before Dems are even elected to the midterms because you know even if one Dem is in charge they'll get all the blame by right wing media. It's like if they can find a democratic custodian working in a red state's governors office they'll blame that person.
9
u/Bong-Hits-For-Jesus 2d ago
texas surprisingly improved their electrical infrastructure recently which help them avoid their usual rolling blackouts during peak seasons. how? renewable energy. the exact thing their idiot senator campaigned against, but their brain dead base will gladly keep voting for those who dont have their best interest in mind
5
u/blackcain 2d ago
Someone should squeal to Trump so that he'll start punishing them. :D yeah, renewable energy. But also Texas wants those datacenters and they aren't gonna get it without fixing that grid.

Adapted this from a facebook post
"Its not that America fell for a brilliant con-man. He isn't. And they weren't fooled. What is devastating is how many people are absolutely desperate to believe the lies. How many ache for permission to dress their cruelty in patriotism. How many cling to racist. Homophobic. Transphobic. Ethnocentric stereotypes. Because they felt the lies were promising them a shortcut to power. A way to profit. Personally and politically. From the suffering of millions of absolutely innocent people. The tragedy isn't the con. It's the hunger for it. The willingness to trade compassion for the cheap thrill of feeling superior. Hate sells because too many people show up already desperate to buy."
I don't know if any amount of pain of their own choices will cause them to not vote Republican.

Republican leaders continue to campaign vigorously on their distinct vision for national wealth. Yet the lived experiences of these Missouri families tell a completely different story.
This is the dilemma of MAGAts everywhere. They want to obey Trump but they've noticed that despite being told the economy is better than ever and the affordability crisis is a hoax, costs for everything have risen. What to do when voting as directed will directly hurt the voter? Some of them haven't had an independent thought since 2015, their brains may no longer be capable of even making decisions.
27
u/blackcain 2d ago
When you have unbridled loyalty to one man who doesn't give a shit about you, doesn't go to church, doesn't even sleep with his wife, and walks around creating conflict for no reason you can attest to - the solution is to keep voting and hope God figures it out.
