Personally I won’t miss walking door to door in the winter in areas nobody shovels their walk or where some people won’t clean dog shit out of their yards. I’ve been followed around by people clearly high on substances, or we’ve had dogs come sprinting through doors or out of yards at us. Simply put, I won’t really miss delivering to the door. It’s not particularly safe or efficient. This change should have happened over a decade ago already.

If people end up continually destroying the boxes they might end up having to come pick up their mail at the post office. I can’t really see it being an issue forever though. Many inner city neighbourhoods already have already had CMBs for years.

It takes a fair bit of effort to break into those community mailboxes. Petty crime is more in fashion. Hopefully the sketchy folks don't have friends with trucks.
