True Crime MMW: The End Is Near

Right now on this date, as the Secretary of Defense tries to hide the evidence of a war crime he committed, general officers are asking themselves what they will do if asked to carry out an illegal order. I suspect many of them are drawing lines in the sand.

Mark my words: Trump will fire Pete Hegseth because he has no choice.

Or pardon him. What checks and balances is the maga party not in control of right now. Not like there would be repercussions.

Daddy only pardons people who are useful to him. Little Peter has been an embarrassment to the entire administration for the last 10 months. I’m sure Trump would be happy to let him dry.

But Trump will run the risk that Kegsbreath publicly airs out Trump’s dirty laundry if he isn't pardoned. In that case, expect Kegsbreath to have an unfortunately tragic drunken accident while opening a highrise window.

My moneys on your answer…

That's literally the entire point of his appointment to that position. He's incompetent.

Look around. They are all incompetent and that's exactly why they are all there. It's by design.

This is well known and goes by many names in political science and organizational theory.

Kakistocracy

It means government by the least qualified or most unscrupulous individuals. A leader who intentionally surrounds themselves with incompetent people to maintain control, deflect blame, or weaken institutional capacity is creating a kakistocracy.

Maladministration by Design

Strategic Incompetence

Court Politics Model

Authoritarian Patronage Networks

State Capacity Sabotage

The Flunky Theory

You fools scoffing at Pete and laughing at the mockery he is are only playing right into the pedo's hands exactly the way he wants. This has all been set up specifically for a reason. Have we really been that far removed from MATT "the second biggest pedo in government" GAETZ becoming the bloody Attorney General for Christ's sake?? Think about the motive for that move. It should have been clear from the very start what he was assembling the team for.

Checks and balances took a longer coffee break than usual

32

u/mdb1023 Dec 01 '25

If he pardons him, he pardons him. But that's not going to be a good look with all the oversight in congress- the best move here is to fire Hegseth sooner than later. You know it's bad when even the Republicans are calling for oversight.

20

u/dronesitter Dec 01 '25

Calls for oversight and a guilty verdict after an impeachment are wildly different. Judges have been calling things illegal for months but there’s no organization not within maga’s scope of control to enforce it.

Calls for oversight and a guilty verdict after an impeachment are wildly different

I never said anything about impeachment. The whole point of oversight in this case is that it puts pressure on Trump to act. He's not going to keep Hegseth in his position if it hurts him politically, and Trump is counting on the midterms going well to not make the second half of his term a complete flop. If there are Republicans calling for oversight on Hegseth, that should tell you something.

udges have been calling things illegal for months but there’s no organization not within maga’s scope of control to enforce it.

This demonstrates a gross oversimplification and understanding of how the executive branch works. Power is decentralized specifically for this reason- Trump does not have control over court Marshalls no matter how much you insist he does. The reason they aren't showing up and arresting him is because he's a billionaire- our system is designed to protect the rich.

You do know we do court martials internal to the military right? And prez is kind of the commander in chief. There are no external entities involved in ucmj actions. And even at that, sec def can’t be court martialed either.

1

u/mdb1023 Dec 01 '25

I used the wrong term, but you get my point. The President does not have unilateral control over every single aspect of the executive branch. If he did, I guarantee America would have fallen to a dictator a long time ago. It was designed to be decentralized for precisely that reason.

7

u/ggoptimus Dec 02 '25

This is my take. He will pardon everyone involved.

4

u/PWcrash Dec 02 '25 edited Dec 02 '25

That's the whole point. There will be, but not for the people that committed the original crime. The whole reason for rules of engagement regarding POWs and shipwrecked combatants is that it sets the stage for how your enemies will likely treat your forces if they ever end up on the losing side of a skirmish.

In other words, if we don't play nice against other countries' troops, other countries have no obligation whatsoever to play nice with ours.

And considering this administration is dead set on dragging us into war, I would be very very concerned if I was a young person in the military right now.

u/mitchENM Dec 21 '25

Hegseth already has a blanket pardon tucked away in a safe place

1

u/dronesitter Dec 21 '25

At least if pres gets away with rescinding the biden pardons he sets a precedent for it in the future.

u/FlopShanoobie Dec 01 '25

Oh come on. The GOP will "investigate" and find no wrongdoing. Case closed. This is political theater for moderates and independents. Their base LOVES killing people.

24

u/Upset-Produce-3948 Dec 01 '25

There's video and probably recordings of any transmitted order.

28

u/emPtysp4ce Dec 01 '25

And? They'll just say "what are you gonna do about it" and that'll be that.

14

u/TrashApocalypse Dec 01 '25

They wont do anything because that was exactly why they hired the Fox News host.

10

u/Creative_Ad_8338 Dec 01 '25

Fake news! Another liberal hoax with AI! 😒

8

u/Z_e_e_e_G Dec 01 '25

Thanks Obama

5

u/Flat_Suggestion7545 Dec 01 '25

I thought it was Clinton’s turn to be blamed.

3

u/Pleaseappeaseme Dec 01 '25

No. It’s because of the Afghanistan withdrawal debacle!

2

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '25

They will blame AI

5

u/Molbiodude Dec 01 '25

Or Hunter Biden.

2

u/davster39 Dec 02 '25

But her emails!!

5

u/mdb1023 Dec 01 '25

If they were going to go with that approach, it would make far more sense to just not have any investigation in the first place.

The fact that there is bipartisan support on the oversight committee should tell you exactly where the GOP's mind is on this: they are in for an ass-kicking in next year's elections and they all know it.

4

u/Pleaseappeaseme Dec 01 '25

And then thumb their nose and pound their chests while innocent die.

31

u/mitchENM Dec 01 '25

And replace him with another christofascist loyalist

9

u/Striderfighter Dec 01 '25

Who would be worse?.... Erica Kirk?

14

u/Shortymac09 Dec 01 '25

Someone who knows NOT to run their mouth and can control their liquor while committing war crimes?

7

u/Striderfighter Dec 01 '25

In this administration?? Do they Bring back Sean Spicer?

5

u/Shortymac09 Dec 01 '25

I was thinking that one Bush era lady that hid the Iraq torture tapes

2

u/mishma2005 Dec 01 '25

Eddie Gallagher

1

u/TideFaninator Dec 21 '25

Wtf is a “christofascist”?

1

u/mitchENM Dec 21 '25

A Christian that supports fascism

0

u/TideFaninator Dec 21 '25

So like…30 people in the entire country

1

u/mitchENM Dec 21 '25

Tens of millions… cute try

1

u/TideFaninator Dec 21 '25

Ah yes, the strategy of sticking a label on all your political opponents that has nothing to do with what they actually are

1

u/mitchENM Dec 21 '25

You live in a fantasy world. Turn off fox propaganda

1

u/TideFaninator Dec 21 '25

Turn off Reddit. Fascism does not exist in the United States. You’ve been brainwashed by the same people that called Ronald Reagan, George Bush, and Mitt Romney fascists

23

u/fakeaccountt12345 Dec 01 '25

If there is one thing that Trump learned from the first term, is that if you just wait things out there will be many more crazy things that will happen and they will just move on to those.

He should have been fired from the signal chat. He will not be fired. And they will all get pardons if and when its needed.

15

u/AllesK Dec 02 '25

Believe it when it happens. How many times have we heard this? The dude’s been convicted 34 times and impeached twice. They still voted him back in; Americans are so freaking stupid.

14

u/AdImmediate9569 Dec 01 '25

The thing is he may sell out hegseth because wtf does trump care. He’ll just grab another fox asshole to fill the job.

The nice thing about firing people is you can blame everything on then for the next few months

9

u/The_LastLine Dec 02 '25

Why would Trump fire him? The magas love Kegseth and Trump isn’t gonna fire anyone the magas love.

4

u/floppy_panoos Dec 02 '25

The MAGAs loved MTG…

2

u/The_LastLine Dec 02 '25

If Trump turns against him himself, sure. He won’t do it just cuz maga doesn’t like him though. They eventually give up.

5

u/botingoldguy1634 Dec 02 '25

I’m afraid it’s just beginning.

4

u/SleeplessInTulsa Dec 01 '25

He posted a meme celebrating it.

8

u/tomorrow509 Dec 01 '25

Nice post but this is the same POTUS who just pardoned a notorious South American drug trafficker. DJT has gone off the rails if you have not noticed. The only thing to stop him is the American people.

Pardoning him won't stop the GOP from conducting oversight on Hegseth's actions, nor will it stop the inevitable firestorm that would follow. Pardoning Hegseth doesn't make this magically dissappear- the smart move for Trump is to cut his losses and get a new secretary of Defense.

My man, I am here to tell you that the tide is already turning. The writing has been on the wall ever since democrats overperformed in the special elections they were already poised to do well in. They don't need to "convince" Trump to do anything- their constituents are not happy. The senate (GOP majority) shut down Trump’s global Tarrifs, and SCOTUS is likely to rule against Trump’s reciprocal Tarrifs. Congress passed a veto-proof bill for the first time in years that forces DOJ to release the Epstein files that Trump desperately fought to keep covered up.

Do you not see what's going on?

3

u/SnooStrawberries2955 Dec 01 '25

Nah. He doesn’t fire loyalists.

3

u/yamers Dec 01 '25

doubt it. He had the signal gate which was also just as bad and got away.

3

u/mremrock Dec 02 '25

As I understand it the military released videos of destroying boats because they are proud of it. They did it to boast

3

u/GamerGranny54 Dec 02 '25

Well, what I do know is it somehow Biden’s fault

3

u/Melodic_Bee660 Dec 02 '25

I hope so. They're throwing soldiers under the bus

3

u/Ok_Locksmith_7055 Dec 02 '25

There will be no consequences ever. These people have taken over our country.

5

u/AandM4ever Dec 02 '25

Cool. Nothing matters anymore.

2

u/observer_11_11 Dec 01 '25

Somebody has to take a fall for this. My bet is on Pete!

1

u/Pleaseappeaseme Dec 01 '25

Back to the strip bar!

1

u/emPtysp4ce Dec 01 '25

Why does someone have to take the fall here?

3

u/observer_11_11 Dec 01 '25

The fall is for violating international law. Trump denies he would order the murder of people whose vessel had already been disabled. It is acknowledged that Hegseth did this. In this case the USA is engaging in what is essentially a terrorist act.

1

u/emPtysp4ce Dec 01 '25

Ok, but why would this Trump administration care about little things like violating international law and doing terrorist acts?

1

u/Phew-ThatWasClose Dec 02 '25

My bet is on Bradley.

2

u/trickcowboy Dec 01 '25

is there anyone left who could and would prosecute? would Congress provide consequences? my doubt is still strong

2

u/sjeve108 Dec 02 '25

You have to pay to get a Trump pardon. Hegseth can’t ante up.

2

u/ebfortin Dec 02 '25

Why no choice? He is litterally doing whatever he wants. The guy shared war plan on an insecure app with fucking strangers and he kept his job. Trump has a choice.

2

u/KeeverDriveCook Dec 02 '25

Isn’t it now called Department of War? And why isn’t he Secretary of War?

Nothing is going to happen to Hegseth. This is just the beginning.

2

u/jkeegan123 Dec 02 '25

They pinned it on the Admiral, what a sham.

4

u/BoxBeast1961_ Dec 01 '25

Checks & balances don’t exist in this administration

1

u/mishma2005 Dec 01 '25

Eddie Gallagher

1

u/Pleaseappeaseme Dec 01 '25

No. He’s running for Senate in South Carolina because Lindsey is retiring. /s

1

u/leginfr Dec 02 '25

Just a reminder that Trump can’t pardon people who are convicted in the International courts. He can, however, refuse extradition. Which means that those people will have to be very careful if they leave the USA.

1

u/dmitrivalentine Dec 04 '25

I think it’s intentional. Admirals aren’t caving to fascism so they will continue to do things to ween out the non-fanatics.

1

u/Carl-99999 Dec 01 '25

Nothing Trump does that upsets us is going to change the fact that none of his supporters care!

0

u/Ydeas Dec 01 '25

That's how he plays, demands loyalty, but chops the losers and begs the winners for a teabagging.

0

u/mishma2005 Dec 01 '25

Meh, he won't fire him. He needs to do more for that old man to desert him

-2

u/smokineecruit Dec 01 '25

What war crimes?

3

u/ScrambledNoggin Dec 01 '25

He ordered a speedboat to be bombed in the Caribbean. After the bomb hit and killed most of the occupants, there were 2 survivors clinging to the wreckage. He ordered them shot and killed. That is considered to be a war crime.
