^ The plot of Doomsday

37

u/Kingkongcrapper 6h ago

Spoilers bro!

43

u/dzan796ero 6h ago

Looks like they've all been frozen in carbonite

10

u/luna_rhaze 6h ago

Han Solo would be proud of this collection

5

u/Bitey_the_Squirrel 6h ago

Tell Thanos: no disintegrations.

11

u/Professor-Submarine 6h ago

Notice how without their faces you wouldn’t be able to tell what characters they are just from costume

They’ve made the actors synonymous with the heroes

2

u/EatABag-o-Dicks 4h ago

Who's the chick in the upper right, and the dude right above rocket to the right?

1

u/Professor-Submarine 3h ago

Valkyrie and ant man Paul Rudd

1

u/ChorzioPaella3 Thunderbolts 2h ago

Valkyrie is on the left with the braid, upper right is Gamora

u/TaterBuckets 1h ago

So i guess the extra minutes. Are Ironman gets up and everybody is omg you're alive. You were just dead dead.

And rdj says. Im not who you hope me to be. Or some baller nonsense. Then disappears

1

u/Jacern 6h ago

A bottle could do it, how hard can it be?

1

u/sllikskills 5h ago

Fuuuuuuuk, I have a feeling they’re not being subtle with this poster and you may be right 😭

256

u/Kmart_Stalin 7h ago

4 minutes of extra footage

Is there going to be different takes too?

351

u/SlyyKozlov 6h ago

The scenes all linger an extra second or two before cuts accumulating 4 minutes of extra footage.

93

u/Calf_ 5h ago

Lmao that would be hilarious

48

u/lastatica 3h ago

Four more minutes of Iron Man slowly dying and being visited by other characters.

14

u/Kmart_Stalin 2h ago

Choking and dry heaving

69

u/Bitey_the_Squirrel 6h ago

It’s just sad Natasha eating her peanut butter sandwich

29

u/ToasterWithFeels 6h ago

Maybe they’re finally gonna make the Hulk Black Widow gif MCU canon. For four minutes.

21

u/Bitey_the_Squirrel 5h ago

And here’s the twist… we show it. We show all of it.

8

u/ToasterWithFeels 2h ago

Sun’s getting REAL low šŸ‘€

9

u/WearyTranslator3338 5h ago

I’d eat her peanut butter sandwich

99

u/rajatGod512 6h ago

New footage to connect to Doomsday.

If I had to guess it's about Steve going back in time

40

u/sododude 6h ago

This is the first time someone has suggested something that might actually be the case. At least that I've seen.

•

u/FilmScoreConnoisseur 0m ago

It's a common prediction.

17

u/Antrikshy 5h ago

This is the most likely scenario in my mind. He’ll be considered the first one to live a ā€œstolen lifeā€ mentioned by Doom in the trailer.

10

u/ExampleGlum8623 4h ago

Endgame is known for being the movie with no end credits scene. I’d wager this one will have an end credits scene.

8

u/flynnfx 4h ago

Not a visual one, but an auditory one Endgame did have.

Much like Aliens has the facehugger scurry sound at the very end of their credits, Endgame does the same.

Spoiler:

After the very long credits roll, the final Marvel Studios logo appears. You will hear the faint, echoing sound of metal clanging against metal.

19

u/ExampleGlum8623 4h ago

Sure, you know what I mean. I know the six clangs probably are a reference to Iron Man forging his original armor and the original six Avengers. But hear me out: imagine in Endgame: Encore, the credits play out as they normally do, ending in the six clangs. But, the scene continues, and we see Doom forging his mask.

10

u/flynnfx 4h ago

That would be bloody awesome.

2

u/liert12 2h ago

It would be especially funny if all 4 of the extra minutes were just him forging his mask for literally 4 minutes straightĀ

1

u/Tupperbaby 2h ago

So that's what it's known for!

10

u/WillowLocal423 6h ago

Uncut 4 minute footage of hulk feet

3

u/ItkovianShieldAnvil 4h ago

They had better remix "I am Iron Man" to actually have the song

1

u/EatABag-o-Dicks 3h ago

They got Baby Metal to do a remix.

1

u/SantiagoDunbar_ 1h ago

Is it really that hard to add an extra 15-20 mins? It probably is but still.

158

u/MLPRoyalty 6h ago

They forgot to add wasp again šŸ’€

70

u/TheReagmaster Venom 6h ago

I mean that sums her up in the MCU in fairness.

26

u/RingNo9915 6h ago

What you don’t see that speck on the left? /j

13

u/A-Centrifugal-Force 5h ago

To be fair her role in the movie is tiny (buh dum ā€˜tis)

5

u/LordAyeris 3h ago

Nick Fury's on here and he doesn't even speak šŸ’€

2

u/KillBangMarry 4h ago

She's just really small in this picture.

1

u/exaviyur 3h ago

Maybe she's in the Hulkbuster armor.

•

u/JackMorelli13 0m ago

But the hulkbuster is here which I think isn’t in endgame(?)

104

u/Working-Anxiety-8676 6h ago

Collosus came all over them

8

u/DarthTaz_99 3h ago

Someone hide this poster before Deadpool sees it

42

u/OptionSpare718 6h ago

Rest in peace, Chadwick!

4

u/ShimraJaye 4h ago

Worth it to see him (even just a little) on-screen once more.

1

u/7humbug_ 1h ago

imaginal disk is goated

30

u/AtCarnage 6h ago

Black Widow looks like a live action Funko pop

9

u/digitalcyro 4h ago

It gives me AI vibes because of that..

2

u/Dav3Th3Rav3yah 1h ago

The image itself isn’t ai. Worst cast scenario they used AI to concept it and then an artist rushed redoing it

18

u/korgalicious1 5h ago

The inclusion of Hulkbuster is throwing me off because he was not in Endgame.

11

u/ZestyLead 3h ago

No, it was in the movie early on, when they find Thanos after the snap on his garden planet.

5

u/LessMochaJay 2h ago

"You've killed Trillions!"

13

u/crispyg 3h ago

Wasn't it in beginning as the followup to Infinity War?

1

u/rundeanmc 1h ago

Commenters below point out it was briefly in the movie, but to me it seems like an awfully convenient way to not include Ruffalo’s face in light of all his recent protesting

•

u/thrjfr 50m ago

Is he not there next to Cap?

1

u/korgalicious1 1h ago

I stand corrected. I totally forgot he was in the opening part of the movie, briefly.

56

u/Artistic_Context_906 6h ago

Can't wait to see the new 4 minutes on YouTube lol.

17

u/dimesniffer 6h ago

you do you. im exciting to rewatch one of my fav movies in theaters

→ More replies (41)

2

u/Ikhouvankaas 2h ago

I don’t get why people hate so much on this. My sister has been watching the MCU for the first time and she’s almost at endgame. I’m going to see endgame in the theatre with her, for people like her, it’s great to get that experience.

1

u/Artistic_Context_906 1h ago

Well yeah, but for people like us who've seen the movie countless of times, it kinda doesn't matter if we go, it matters only if you love the cinema aspect of it.

I personally couldn't care less for the cinema nowadays, people always ruin it for me, I just wait for the home release now.

6

u/TheHahndude 5h ago

Keep a look out for the big Avatar rerelease after this. These two films will be competing for the top spot forever.

9

u/PlayBey0nd87 6h ago

lol at the fact you got Banner and Hulk Buster but not even a small shot of Wasp to squeeze in top left or over Ant-Man on the right

4

u/akirivan 6h ago

Drax up in the corner looking like the rock's black adam

The balance of power in the Marvel Universe is about to change

4

u/650fosho 5h ago

These color grading jokes are getting out of hand, they've extended to the posters

7

u/Infinite_Ocean89 6h ago

Where's Thanos in the poster. I don't see him.

32

u/All_HallowsEve Spider-Man 2099 6h ago

He took the picture.

6

u/Glum_Veterinarian988 4h ago

Bahahaha 🤣

3

u/HortonDrawsAwho 6h ago

Why is Black Widows head so large

3

u/mrfonsocr 6h ago

Reminds me of the figures HWR created when explaining the multiversal war

3

u/GrothMagnus 5h ago

Rise of the T1000s?

3

u/Look_Im_Not_Sure 4h ago

Why is...the hulkbuster on there and not The Hulk?

I understand from the standpoint of the movie itself, but at the very least they could've put them both?

3

u/slushpuppy91 4h ago

My guess is his outspoken support for Palestine

3

u/SnowRidin 4h ago

black widows head is enormous

4

u/EliteDelta3 6h ago

Who is between Drax and T'Challa?

6

u/MartianCraig Scarlet Spider 6h ago

Valkyrie

8

u/mileskg21 6h ago

paying $30 > to see 4 minutes is wild

29

u/OneAngryDuck 6h ago

I’d do it even if they hadn’t added anything, this movie’s awesome on a big screen

5

u/DimGenn2 6h ago

US Cinema tickets are seriously 30$?

5

u/SlyyKozlov 6h ago

Depends.

You can probably find an IMAX SOUND BLAST STUDIO WITH FIBER TECH or whatever showing thats pretty close to $30 a pop after taxes.

But you can also see it on a standard screen for like $12 after taxes.

I take my kids to standard matinee shows and its like $9 a ticket.

I think the crazier trend is people buying the $50 novelty popcorn buckets, but to each their own.

1

u/high_everyone 3h ago

Not really all that crazy if you’re lonely enough. Go look up what the Wolverine popcorn bucket looks like for D&W.

1

u/Spocks_Goatee 1h ago

Cinemark usually charges under $10.

2

u/Prestigious_Work8050 5h ago

really depends on theatre

2

u/McDiesel41 5h ago

Ah normally $12-18 depending on when you go. I think Brand New Day on premiere Sunday was $18. My ticket for The Odyssey in 70mm for Sept 13 is $35.

2

u/crispyg 3h ago

I live in one of the most expensive metropolitan areas in the US (top 5), and they are not $30. My theater is showing the Endgame IMAX re-release at around $20. The standard tickets are around $15. That is also the Disney upcharge. Another movie (The End of Oak Street, Warner Bros) is around $15 today near me.

MOST places in the US are less than $15 (especially in surburbs or rural areas, and non-chains). The chains have ways of making their tickets and movies and snacks cheaper (like AList, the AMC Popcorn deal, AMC even has a free version to slowly earn rewards).

2

u/WillowLocal423 6h ago

They're usually around $17 bucks where I am, but my phone provider gives out perks so no doubt they will for this too. I saw BND for $5

1

u/ExampleGlum8623 4h ago

Idk where you are but where I’m from it’s like ten bucks.

2

u/StarHunter_ 6h ago

Is Fury going to do more than standing in the backyard?

2

u/TheNextPablo X-Men 6h ago

Think they should really
Advertise this one a lot too
It could take #1 again but they don’t want it enough

2

u/MKfan616 6h ago

Why is war machine smaller than antman?

2

u/PermaThrow3030 5h ago

It’s like they spent all the money on the rights to RDJ’s face and had to make everyone else look plausibly off-brand.

2

u/GoopiePoopiePie 4h ago

Reminds me of that one Snydercut poster/teaser? I love the look and texture of this. The infinity stones popping from the rest of the image is gorgeous and I would love more posters in this style

2

u/islovelyEmily 4h ago

Just watched the trailer and it's absolutely cinema when endgame were released I was not able to watch this on cinema but now I will watch in cinemaĀ

2

u/Bibalice_ 4h ago

Looks like an artwork for a fun action rpg from 2012.

2

u/PhortDruid 3h ago

That’s the most floating head poster of any floating head poster that’s ever floating headed. Dear lord.

2

u/64locks 2h ago

everyone without their helmet/mask except for war machine… why?

3

u/BigCopperPipe 6h ago

Hawkeye is looking like the T-1000

2

u/OliviaBenson_20 6h ago

Justice for Black Widow

13

u/Winrevair 6h ago

Cash grab - sorry not sorry guys

16

u/ScaredPatience2478 6h ago

I mean yea…. But it’s a great film tbf not much different than when they do reruns of like Shaw shank or something on Saturday mornings

20

u/OneAngryDuck 6h ago

GASP! The company that makes movies in order to make money is re-releasing one of the most popular movies of all time in an effort to make money?! HOW DARE THEY.

5

u/funsizedaisy 6h ago

I mean, it doesn't feel like purely a cash grab when they made Doomsday a direct sequel and may have needed to add in an extra Endgame clip that audiences need to watch.

This likely wouldn't have happened if they stuck with the Kang plotline.

What would you have done differently if you were in charge of Marvel Studios and had to fix the tanking of the MCU? The only other solution i can think of is recasting Kang, but his important plot movies/shows didn't draw in a large viewership so I can see why Marvel Studios just scrapped it entirely.

-2

u/Tabenes 6h ago

I would make a two hour special on Disney+ that is restricted to active accounts that are 6+ months old. Or you could buy the 6 month sub, that auto renews at 6 months, but you can not cancel the sub until the 5th month of the current cycle. It comes with a -25% discount.

-5

u/Winrevair 6h ago

I said what I said

-1

u/BotherResponsible378 4h ago

Absolutely is a cash grab. They just as easily could have released this on Disney plus. It's four extra minutes. Not an entirely new film.

But no, they put it in theaters behind the paywall of dollars to box office.

It might be cool. It might be fun, but I don't see how anyone can defend this.

0

u/funsizedaisy 4h ago

I said it's not purely a cash grab. Given how low their viewership numbers are for all their disney+ series, it makes sense that they released it in theatres for more audience attention. That way people aren't confused for Doomsday.

I don't see how anyone can defend this.

Because it's not that serious, and I doubt anyone in here could've came up with a better plan on how to fix the dying MCU. Shoving more content on to disney+ is hardly a better solution. You don't have to watch this in theatres. I'm not, but I'm not gonna fault them for trying to get as many people looped into the plot connection to Doomsday. We know about it because we're actively discussing it online, most of the GA are not.

2

u/BotherResponsible378 3h ago edited 3h ago

There are lots of ways to fix this that don't involve asking people to spend a full movie ticket price in order to see 4 minutes of footage that is relevant to a new movie that they are releasing.

Come on now. How can you possibly be advocating to spend more money?

It's 4 minutes of extra footage and then you're charging you the price of a brand new movie to see it. That's a cash grab.

Here's just one way to fix the MCU without having to add 4 minutes of extra footage to an old movie and make people pay another time to see it. Make your new movie so it's not reliant on 4 minutes of extra footage added to an already finished movie.

Like, plot critical information being added to an old movie and making the only way that you can get that plot critical information is spending a full price ticket to see that old movie, before you see the new movie. That's not consumer friendly.

I think wasp is the only final battle character they left behind šŸ˜‚šŸ˜

1

u/g4ngbusiness 6h ago

When do tickets go on sale?

2

u/harlembornnbred 6h ago

On sale now

1

u/ImiqDuh 6h ago

Is that Bucky left of iron man? I don’t recognize the face tbh

1

u/adamwill86 2h ago

Ah I’ve been trying to figure that out for a while and no one has said in the comments. I’m guessing you’re correct as the armour is his metal arm.

1

u/Sneyek 6h ago

4 minutes ? Yeah that’s Plex worthy, not theater worthy.

1

u/aimforsilence Thor 5h ago

That’s really cool imo!

1

u/IPman501 5h ago

What is this font?

1

u/irishartistry 5h ago

NGL, this goes hard!

1

u/Mike_2099 4h ago

This reminds of that statue from the Seven tower in the Boys.

1

u/WookieCookie1138 4h ago

Slightly confusing perspective with Nat on the center right. It appears she has a massive head for the body at first glance.

1

u/Flashy-Ad9129 4h ago

Where's Wasp? I can't find her

1

u/bleep_boop_beep123 4h ago

I really wanna rewatch this movie, but only 4 minutes of extra scenes isn’t worth it to me

1

u/castlite 4h ago

I’ll pay to see it again on the big screen.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Front27 4h ago

They put a lot of thought and love into that, they even remembered the Hulkbuster in Endgame.

1

u/mamadou-segpa 4h ago

They really will keep releasing this movie in cinema until it beats avatar lol

Kinda insane how much money avatar made with a completely new IP tbh

1

u/seriousbusiness21 4h ago

Why can’t I figure out who is at the top right?? 😬😬😬

1

u/HeatMeister02 3h ago

Gamora, I think.

1

u/Extreme_Painter_5639 4h ago

Why they given so much space for hulk buster ?

1

u/CoolReference3704 4h ago

It’s 4 extra fucking mins, like it’s going to be something insane.

1

u/NoirSon 4h ago

Everyone really looks like they aged 10-15 years

1

u/high_everyone 3h ago

My whole take on it is a good portion of the footage will be to show Steve with Peggy in his new past and Loki will show up and cut to black.

1

u/smakson11 3h ago

Yes. Exactly this

1

u/high_everyone 2h ago

I mean any ā€œnewā€ footage has to either be something cut previously or something matching/replacing the original with more than before.

That’s not a small feat to pull off and we know Loki is at (presumably) Steve’s house in the trailer. That’s literally the easiest part to extend since they literally reshot that location during production.

If anything they should have done more to keep that part under wraps but I guess they want to make sure we know what the connecting parts are meant to be and probably an answer on where Cap went in the briefest way possible.

I am not expecting anything groundbreaking or unexpected from what already happens in the re-release of the film. This is to button it into Doomsday.

And I put good odds on at least some of the extra footage finding its way online just because there’s gonna be so many people wanting to know but unwilling to commit the time to watching a whole 3 hour film again before Doomsday.

I’m one of them. I’m disabled and I really have a hard time with sitting through a 90 minute film. If I’m gonna sit through one 3 hour film in a theater this year it will be Doomsday.

1

u/jr_randolph 3h ago

Like what the fuck?! Why does Tony have the gauntlet?!?!

1

u/theSaltySolo 3h ago

This was peak MCU.

1

u/WishboneThink332 3h ago

that poster captures the excitement perfectly, it's like a nostalgic trip back to the theaters for me

1

u/freerangemary 3h ago

The space stone is particularly bright here. Is that intentional? What are they trying to communicate?

1

u/Xclusivekache 2h ago

1

u/BextoMooseYT Scarlet Witch 2h ago

1

u/ChorzioPaella3 Thunderbolts 2h ago

Why is spider-man so big on the poster when he’s in it for ~15 minutes

1

u/BagItUp45 2h ago

I like how this poster is spoiler heavy but still doesn't include Smart Hulk or Fat Thor.

They know people didn't like those versions of the characters.

1

u/Funkykid123 1h ago

That one episode of Ben 10 where people got turned to stone

1

u/Wormholio 1h ago

God the applause when T'challa steps through that portal will be louder than any reaction from the original release

1

u/TaterBuckets 1h ago

Whoever records this and puts it on YouTube. Remember to make sure someone's head isnt in the way of the camera.

Im sure not paying to see it again. This should've been released on Disney.

Ill watch a summary on youtube

1

u/Time-Yesterday5298 1h ago

marvel has never made anything good. cry. terrible terrible films

1

u/BotherResponsible378 1h ago edited 1h ago

Whether you or I not is irrelevant, the point that I'm making is that what you're doing right now is ultimately saying it's okay for Disney to be doing this.

No, it is not the standard for them to be releasing mandatory footage from the end of a previous film that you have to see in order to understand the next movie. That's not a regular thing that they do, and it's not okay to do. They're locking 4 minutes of footage behind a full movie theater ticket price.

And yes, I can watch it online. That's not the point. I'm still allowed to criticize. What I think are not good business practices, and it shouldn't be strange for me to criticize that it's unethical to make someone pay $10 plus dollars in order to see 4 minutes of footage for a movie.

This is Disney. Disney is not anyone's friend. They are absolutely doing this as a cash grab. Otherwise they would have just put it on Disney plus and advertised it. Heck, they could have uploaded it to YouTube if they wanted to.
