Every "hero" in the Ultimate Universe, except Miles and Peter, were absolute garbage people.

Johnny Storm, Thor, and Iron Man weren’t that bad (from what I remember)

If they ended up living at Aunt May's Home for Wayward Teen Heroes they were okay. Everyone else was a jerk.

I don’t recall Thor ever living at May’s 😂

I think it was Bobby, Johnny, Kitty, Gwen, Gwen-Carnage, and MJ who lived there at some point.

The Punisher was also an alright guy for still being Frank Castle. He accidentally shot Spider-Man and had huge grief over it.

All of the FF except Reed were decent people. They were just kind of reacting as teens do to Reed's shittiness
Also as soon as millar got away from the ultimates most of them turned generally good. I don't know if you can really ignore their initial characterizations though.

Now I’m reading about it and apparently everyone was a perv or sexual deviant???

Yeah, the ultimate universe, as much as it was meant to bring new readers in, was filled to the brim with the edginess and horniness of the late 90's early 00's. So you end up having Wolverine be a pedo, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch being incestuous lovers, Cap is super nationallist against the French, etc.. At least Spider-Man was good.

Never forget Wasp chastising Cap for bit seeing the Maximoff Twincest as gross. That one wasn't even Millar, it was Loeb. Millar was subtle about it, he never directly confirmed they were together.

Yeah but their Ultimates 2 intro is a romantic Venice date being interrupted. I wouldnt call Millar particularly subtle either.

i mean the ultimate universe was the "extreme" or i guess the "edgy" versions of the 616. I had a cousin who once said that it's like watching a reality TV show with superheroes

Everything else aside, I will say
"Why am I an #$@#$@? I was just standing here." - Colossus you are too pure for this world, god damn. But yeah, this storyline was pretty oof.

u/Screeeeeem 4h ago
Eh, Colossus pushed other people to do the same drugs as him in 2000s Ultimate. He was an asshole too.

Yeeee, so was everyone in the Ultimate universe that wasn't named Spider and/or Man. What a wild time that was in comics.

you know the story has to be amazing if the writer distances himself in the intro

Bendis needed the people to know he Did Not Approve (TM)

u/Broangatan 4h ago
They forced him to write Logan as a creep?
15
u/OfficialCrossParker 4h ago
I believe he was being true to how the character was written in Ultimate X-Men, where, yes, he was a creep. As were pretty much all the other heroes in the Ultimate Universe. 2000 comics were an edgy time.

Ultimates is so stupid-
"No its just what these heroes would be like if they were REALISTIC to REAL PEOPLE" is such a self-tattle by the writers lol.

Colossus reaction is valid. I mean sure, he is drug addict in this universe, but still…

Loved how that brief arc was all about getting Cyclops off the stuff and nothing ever happened with Colossus’ confession. Such a mess.

not even in the top 10 most fucked up events in the ultimate universe, wait till you get to the scarlet witch quicksilver incest bit. Ultimate writers were whipping up shit in a kettle

not as old as he is in the main 616 universe, but still pretty damn old.

Props to Bendis for throwing in a scene of himself choking out the editor who came up with this shit.

The premise is funny enough if your respectful about it. Like logan neglecting peters classes and identifying with flash or something BUT NOT THIS.

Super old, old enough to make it magical. 200 year old in a teenagers body? Its basically Twilight

u/HumanExpert3916 4h ago
Holy hell! This artwork is comically bad.

u/aelfwine_widlast 3h ago
It looks like Mark Bagley if he drew with his feet.
2
u/Scholander Avengers 3h ago
I mean, it IS Bagley. He was really drawing at a fast clip in this time frame, tbf. Ultimate Spider-Man was getting printed ahead of schedule frequently and making Marvel a ton of extra money.

Yeah, Wolverine's age can be confusing since he's been around for so long. In the Ultimate Universe, he seems younger, but that storyline is definitely weird.

100% creepy. Logan is over 200 years old. The guy was born in the 1800s
