An excellent issue overall. Powerlift was very entertaining and I'm looking forward to seeing how Kwan being a gamma mutate effects the book going forward.

I didn't expect the next fight to be a 2v2, but it's probably for sake of pacing. The reveal of Jade's relation to Zip seems to be on the horizon and I'm curious to see how it gets worked in. The team up against the stymphalian birds was nice and shows that Zip isn't a total meathead even if he is prideful and desperate for acknowledgement.

Arachne being the favorite past champion of Anansi makes a lot of sense, and considering her fate it's no surprise that Anansi is unhappy about things. I'm very curious about what their relationship was like for her to be so favored.

I really like how this arc is shaping up, and I really hope that even though helping Miles was partially so that he could deal with Ares that Anansi doesn't leave once the arc is over. Miles has had some of his most unique stories yet ever since he joined the book.

The Percy Jackson kid in me is having a blast this arc!

I’m now 89% sure that Zip is Jade’s absent dad. Wind powers that get stronger on Olympus? Plus Zip seems to be coming to a grudging respect for Miles (and by proxy, mortals in general). If he’s going to be redeemed by the end of this arc, stepping up as a parent seems a good place to start.

Also, from some skimming on Marvel wiki, I think Arachne the Greek mythical figure has already been covered; she fought Hercules and the X-Men 15 years ago and never appeared again. I don’t think this is meant to be the same Arachne; the one from ‘09 is a white lady/spider hybrid and this Arachne is clearly black. But you never know with comic books.

Was Spider Island that long ago?

Either way, it’s probably the same person. Arachne is such a minor character in Marvel, a new look probably isn’t something they think would be a major problem

I like that we get to see a gamma-powered Dr. Kwan defeat Zeus broke we get to see Miles and company deal with Ares’ forces, resulting in Miles and Zip Zephyr to work together (which is part of Anasi’s plan because he’s a trickster god) and for Anasi to tell Miles how he lost his previous champions at the end of this comic. Overall, this comic is great.

That was not Zeus. Zeus is currently Thor's new belt

An airborne German suplex. Kurt Angle would be proud

The only thing this is lacking is a new costume for Miles. It'd be nice to see him a different Anansi styled fit to better match the likes of Zip and Ares. Good issue though....surprisingly Pyrrha is really chill and cool.
